MjobO - HR platform

MjobO is a top HR platform, whose purpose is to balance the company-candidate relationship. The platform aims for greater transparency from companies, promoting respect for the candidates.

Challenge

Our goal was to build a reliable and powerful platform customized to our client's needs. The client needed a modern front-end with advanced search and filtering capabilities for companies to find the

right candidates.

Process

We used Scrum Agile methodology to organize our efforts during this 3-month project. Iterating in 2-week sprints, we managed to meet the requirements established for the first version of the product.

Growth hacking

Our team always tries to add value to the project, suggesting powerful growth hacking techniques. This time we developed functionality that allows the candidate to share their profile on Linkedin. This boosted the platform massively from the beginning without any investment in advertising, achieving 6500+ organic users in the first 48 hours.

We hired Light-it to design the landing page for the launch of our latest book.

What were your goals for this project?

Launch a new book, increase engagement of our customers and attract new clients.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We have been working with a Digital Agency for some years and they highly recommended Light-it.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The project was to create a new site for the book. We contacted them and explained what our goals and aspirations were regarding to the site. They made really good suggestions concerning design, development and tools to include.

On the landing page, visitors are able to buy it, book their seat at the launch event, and hire our experts for in-house conferences. Also, they developed a web portal where registered users could buy and download content related to the topic of the book.

What was the team composition?

One PM, one developer and one designer.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

  • - 700 people were registered for the launch event.
  • - 480 books were sold so far through the website.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Management was the most outstanding aspect of the experience. Javier was our PM, he immediately got engaged with the project, was always willing to help and suggest new features/ideas.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The biggest challenge was the tight time frame. We needed at least a first version ready only a couple of weeks from starting development date since the launch date was already scheduled. They succeeded on launching it on time!

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are really satisfied with their product and services. We look forward to continuing working together.

The client submitted this review online.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-founder of a talent management agency. We strive to transform the job recruitment and selection processes.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Light-it?

We engaged Light-it to develop an innovative HR platform.

What were your goals for this project?

My company hoped to give candidates a new and transparent way of finding jobs. We also wanted to provide companies with the tools for finding the right candidates in a timely and cost-effective manner. We hoped to achieve this by developing a platform on which both candidates and companies could easily register and create profiles.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We evaluated many vendors. Although Light-it’s quote exceeded our budget, we chose to work with them after failed engagements with freelancers.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Our collaboration began with two roadmapping sessions. Once we defined the platform’s main requirements, we worked in two-week sprints. Light-it has overseen the entire design and development process. They have supplied growth hacking techniques, server management, and maintenance. They provide ongoing support.

What was the team composition?

We work with a project manager and two developers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Light-it has provided us with several growth hacking techniques, one of which enables job candidates to share their CV on LinkedIn. This technique helped us register 1,200 candidates on the day of the platform launch and more than 3,000  in the platform's first week. 50 companies registered over the first month, and many of them bought search plans.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Before the platform launch, our project manager delivered several new versions for us to review. Light-it is a receptive and organized partner. We communicate via Slack, Trello, and WhatsApp.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Light-it’s capabilities in roadmapping and growth hacking have been critical to the project’s success. Their team has truly helped us build the HR platform we wanted and obtain the visibility we expected. We are extremely happy with the results and plan to continue improving the platform with them as our partner.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is nothing to mention here.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and principal of a consulting group. We provide strategic consulting services for product development and marketing. We focus on B2C and B2B software digital products.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Light-it?

I needed help stabilizing a legacy system for a client. I wanted a firm to help with the roadmap and new feature sets.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I worked with them to build out backlogs, stories, and schedules. Then, we worked together to design and develop those feature sets. The work ranged from UI/UX to full stack development in PHP, HTML, CSS, and SQL. We then delivered the work in stages to the client.

The platform supports management of influencer marketing activities in major U.S. specialty retailers. The users can recruit, vet, and manage influencers, and then deliver programs and work compensation to those influencers through the platform.

What is the team composition?

The team was around three people in total.

How did you come to work with Light-it?

We used another development shop from Uruguay for a previous engagement and were impressed by the talent pool in the area. I’m not sure how I got their contact information, but it may have been through another company’s recommendation.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent somewhere between $20,000–$30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2018. Phase one is complete, but I continue to work with them on development projects. I’ve also recommended them to other consultancy companies.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re now in a much stronger position with the client. They were thrilled with the work, as were we. The work to develop and stabilize the platform is ongoing, and we may ultimately build out a new platform to replace it.

Light-it helped us strengthen this relationship, and the real value they brought to the project was in their strategic design and development practice. They were insightful, concise, and efficient, and their process was even more valuable than the technology they brought to bear.

How did Light-it perform from a project management standpoint?

Physically, we were never in the same room together, but the strength of their communication was outstanding. They understood the project and asked relevant questions. They distilled all the important information into digestible stories, deployed all their work on time, and adhered to a high standard. I’ve never worked with an offshore team that provided such good results. Most of our communication was through Google Hangouts, phone, email, Slack, and Trello.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The two things that stand out about their service are their responsiveness and their creative solutions. They were very collaborative, and they delivered solutions that went beyond our specifications and were extremely impactful.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing springs to mind; I don’t have any recommendations for them.

The client submitted this review online.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CEO of Escala Desarrollos S.A, a real estate development company located in Paraguay. Founded in 2014, we’ve already developed two successful residential towers in Asunción.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Light-it?

Our goal was to attract new apartment buyers and investors. We needed a sales-oriented website that could showcase all the details of the towers being constructed in an appealing way.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

They were recommended by a colleague that had worked with them before.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

The project consisted of three different stages. First, we had several calls to exchange ideas and discuss what we expected from the website. Once the concept was clear, they developed wireframes to evaluate the distribution of information. After some iterations, we approved the wireframes, which led them to start with web design. Once designs were approved, they moved on to the final implementation stage.

What was the team composition?

We had direct communication with Martin, one of the owners of the company, and the designer responsible for the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The new website is incredibly helpful for showcasing the building. Anyone who wants to know more about the apartments, such as pictures, location, amenities, etc., can find everything there. Additionally, it makes it easy for people to contact us and ask for more details. We even sold an apartment to a costumer that reached us through the contact form.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Martin was always willing to hear our opinions, concerns, and the modifications we wanted to make. We used Slack and Skype for communicating. During the development stage, they constantly uploaded updates to a server so that we could see their advances every day.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I really wanted to be involved in every step of the project, so I was looking for real fluent communication, which is a key strength of theirs. Also, their expertise in development and design is remarkable.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

Not that I can think of. We’re really happy with the results and would love to work with them again in the future.
