A Dating and matchmaking platform for Norway. The platform helps people find their best match based on their partner preferences. For each registered user, there is a matchmaker assigned by admin. Client is Canada based apparel business facing issue managing huge business with decorations and all. We build custom ERP and CRM system to satisfy their need. I’m the CEO of BeConnected, which is a translation services company. I’ve also worked with KanhaSoft at some of my other businesses.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with KanhaSoft?

For one project, we needed help creating a translation management system. We also hired them through our matchmaking company to create a matchmaking system and an app to go with it.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

For our translation management system, we started out by walking through the system we’d already been using because we wanted to create something customized that had similar functions. They designed and developed the platform using Bootstrap. The main features included the ability to create profiles for freelancers, translators, and clients; they also set up a way to create and track projects, an invoicing system, and user messaging capabilities.

With the matchmaking service, we started from scratch. I did some very basic design using the web platform Wix and then they coded everything according to my designs. The features on that platform included the ability to create user profiles and upload images, as well as user messaging. They also coded algorithms that automatically match people. In addition, they developed a mobile app for Android and iOS that’s in the process of launching.

Beyond those projects, they also fill in for us any time we don’t have the internal resources to do development work ourselves.

What is the team composition?

We have a project manager, a team of four or five developers, and one designer.

How did you come to work with KanhaSoft?

I found them years ago via an online platform for hiring freelancers. We went through an extensive search because some of the developers we’d hired in the past weren’t very good. They gave us a good spec document, communicated well, and made one of the most competitive quotes for our project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $200,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them sometime in 2015 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Building our own translation management platform has brought our costs down, which was one of our main goals. We’ve also been able to tailor the system to meet our specific business needs.

With the matchmaking platform, KanhaSoft has modernized it and made it more user-friendly by developing the mobile app. Since that project’s still in development, we measure their work based on how well it tests during the development process. Our team evaluates each project along the way to ensure that everything works as expected before moving on.

How did KanhaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

We kept in touch via Skype daily and used email to follow up. If there’s a major project component underway, we’ll also have a one-hour conference call at least once a month. In addition, we use a project management tool to report any bugs we find. It’s been very easy to keep track of everything and their team communicates well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re very hands-on. I’ve never worked with anyone who’s this available and solves problems so quickly. Their communication skills really stand out. You always feel like you’re in the loop.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We initially had an issue with keeping track of communication because we were using so many different platforms, but at the moment there aren’t any problems.

What challenge were you trying to address with KanhaSoft?

We needed to design a piece of CRM-like software that allowed us to manage orders and production processes with more effective customer service and support. We wanted to first integrate this technology into our internal operations, but at some point, we want to release it out to the apparel industry as its own entity.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

KanhaSoft helped us narrow down our scope, then they built the wireframes for the website and designed its order flow. The team determined a series of milestones to complete each module for the website and a scheduled plan for each.

After our approval, they started working on the development using JavaScript, Node.js, and Laravel and used a Google Cloud platform for the server hosting channel. They submitted an element about every two weeks for us to review, test, and provide feedback. Based on our comments, the team made adjustments before moving onto the next task.

What is the team composition?

KanhaSoft provided a project manager, business manager, QA specialist, and a team of about four developers.

How did you come to work with KanhaSoft?

We put a bid out on Upwork, that included our application specs, and a few companies applied. KanhaSoft presented the strongest proposal and showed interest in our project.

We spent about $40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first part of the project lasted from June 2017–June 2018. We recently enlisted them to help us develop and integrate additional features, so we are working with them again.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

KanhaSoft expertly handled all of our requests and generally stayed on schedule throughout the entire project. We finished about three weeks behind their initial time frame, but that was mostly due to our testing speed and various holidays. Overall, we were happy with their work ethic and the quality fully met our expectations. Internally, our staff seems to be really impressed with KanhaSoft’s work and we are excited to keep working with them.

How did KanhaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via a series of Slack channels to share updates and feedback. They were responsive and prompt in their answers, despite the time difference.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to other companies we spoke with in India, KanhaSoft’s team is able to effectively communicate in English. There were no misunderstandings or miscommunications that resulted from the language barrier.

Additionally, I appreciated their recommendations based on their past experiences. They helped make our product better than we could have expected.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They provide very long Microsoft Word documents containing feedback and information on various tasks, which can be a little frustrating to read. It would be more efficient to set up Google Docs or a Drive to share and periodically update the information, but that could possibly sacrifice the detail in each document. It would have to be a tradeoff of detail for length.

I am the CEO and founder of Patient True Talk. We facilitate one-on-one connections between newly diagnosed cancer patients and more experienced patients who have been through the procedures and taken the medications they’re facing.

What challenge were you trying to address with KanhaSoft?

I needed to build a website that would solve this major challenge in the cancer world.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We worked together to build a site that resembles other matching sites but has a lot of technical aspects. Since we’re in the medical space, there is a lot of sensitive information that needs to be properly encrypted to ensure user privacy and HIPAA compliance.

They created a matching algorithm that worked according to appropriate formulas. Since there are two kinds of users, we break them into separate databases. There are a lot of data dictionaries, lists of approved medications, and options for treatments and cancer centers that are constantly changing. They built a robust admin panel that lets me modify the site on my own. I can create partnerships and links, add photos and content, or edit existing content through the panel.

What is the team composition?

I have two main contacts, a business person who oversees the account and another who acts as the account manager. All of my requests are processed through him. I know they have different developers for web, iOS, and Android, but I don’t interact with them directly. I’m not certain how big the rest of the team is.

How did you come to work with KanhaSoft?

A California firm did a lot of programming that helped me choose the technical specifications but they were too expensive to hire as coders. A friend of mine recommended KanhaSoft to do all the coding based upon the existing UI/UX programming.

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve spent a fraction of what I would have spent domestically for the same service.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2017. They delivered the website in November 2017 and are currently working on the mobile app and are providing site maintenance.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They delivered the high-quality website I asked for and I’m very impressed by the admin panel. They met my expectations and users like the site. I’ve done demos for cancer centers and advocacy groups around the country. Everyone is impressed by what we built.

How did KanhaSoft perform from a project management standpoint?

I’ve never done this before, so I didn’t have a dedicated tracking system. We had minor issues with timing our conversations, which often took place late at night or early in the morning. We also had a little trouble understanding each other over the phone. We came up with a style of QA testing that eliminated any guesswork. I send QA memos or take screenshots of things that aren’t working and make sure everything is clear. They make comments on each request with things they’ve completed or things they had to change.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The price I pay for what they deliver gives me a tremendous value. They’re fairly priced and offer very good service. The product is outstanding and we get great reviews. I have nothing but good things to say.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only issues stemmed from not always understanding each other properly over the phone. Other than that, I wouldn’t change the work, the product, or the relationship.
