BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

Warrior Service Company LLC is a disabled veteran-owned small business that provides services to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs for the US government. I’m the director of operations, overseeing six branches across 10 states.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire JET BI?

Our company has been fortunate enough to experience a 25%–50% year-over-year growth. However, as a result, we’ve quickly outgrown our software's capabilities. We needed a more comprehensive and robust CRM if we were to continue to grow, so we tasked JET BI with creating a custom Salesforce implementation to be more efficient.

What were your goals for this project?

Since our business model is very unique, we needed to customize our Salesforce to match our day-to-day operations. This would help streamline and automate our processes.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Salesforce recommended JET BI as having 5-star reviews. They were very professional and cost-efficient.

Describe the project in detail.

They provided a custom Salesforce CRM implementation, using Field Service Lightning for our customer service, warehousing, inventory, and delivery technician needs.

What was the team composition?

JET BI assigned two main computer software engineers but also had a larger team supporting them behind the scenes. They were all knowledgeable and attentive to our unique needs.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve met most of our milestones, and I’m very happy with the outcome thus far. We plan to continue using JET BI for future projects.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

JET BI was very professional when it came to project management, communication, scheduling, and managing expectations. We used Outlook 365 and GoToMeeting to plan and execute our virtual meetings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was most impressed with the number of hours they provided and their team’s dedication. They really took our project and made it their own. I was also amazed by their expertise and friendly demeanor.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Being that English isn’t their first language, they might benefit from having a bit more English practice. However, after having so many conversations with them, we never found a major language issue. This was just a minor point compared to the amount of effort they put into the project.

JET BI is instrumental for scalable growth. Their clear communications and responsive service make the collaboration successful.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the co-founder of Cloud Team Company. We do Salesforce and FinancialForce implementations. The latter is a cloud-based ERP solution on the Salesforce platform.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JET BI?

We needed development augmentation.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

JET BI serves as our technical consultants and supplemental developers. They build applications and add-ons on the Salesforce platform. They provide Apex developers and expertise, and in the past, have also helped release some of the apps in the Salesforce store.

They are always in the background working on our invoice scan app, which digitally processes payable invoices. Users scan the invoices and the information then goes back to FinancialForce. JET BI maintains that app as well.

What is the team composition?

We work with a coordinator and two developers.

How did you come to work with JET BI?

We came across them by accident and decided to try them out. I liked having a team in the same time zone and with a more European mentality.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent approximately €50,000 ($57,954 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in December 2015 and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, they complement what we do. There isn’t one specific success, but rather we have a successful collaboration. With their help, we are scalable and provide better service, even in the event of an unexpected increase in workload. If we grow, then JET BI will become even more important to us.

How did JET BI perform from a project management standpoint?

We are happy with their availability and responsiveness.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to past vendors, they have been easier to work with from a communications perspective.

JET BI's work optimizes administrative and automatic processes. They're responsive to urgent issues and deliver cost-effective strategies. Their detailed documentation and regular updates contribute to a smooth workflow.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the founder and CEO of an internet company. We run a website in the enterprise, B2B-tech space.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JET BI?

We needed to integrate our finance, delivery, and other departments in a centralized Salesforce CRM. We were not satisfied with our previous consultants integrations.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

JET BI listen to our requirements for the platform and develops the necessary Salesforce administration/customization functionalities. They're integrating our entire company's records, customer support, billing, finance, invoicing, and delivery documentation, onto a central CRM platform. In addition, their team also consults us on Salesforce best practices and strategies, showing us alternative solutions that are more efficient and effective in terms of cost and development time.

What is the team composition?

We work with a senior project manager and a business development representative, and their developers.

How did you come to work with JET BI?

We were looking for a skilled vendor that was less expensive than our previous one. We found JET BI through an online marketplace and conducted an initial trial period. They were responsive and knew what they were doing, so we hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $10,000–$50,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in September 2017, and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

JET BI helps us quickly fix technical issues and increases the number of reports we produce. Their work significantly increases the efficiency of our automating processing, such as migrating Google Sheets data and other manual work into Salesforce. Overall, they help us use the platform more effectively and efficiently.

How did JET BI perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has been good thus far. They provide documentation and keep their timesheets up to date on a regular basis. Their managers conduct weekly meetings and daily emails. If a project needs more attention, they're responsive and will communicate with us more intensively.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They focus on delivering the most cost-effective strategies to optimize our success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I feel like their team is too small at times. If their employees are not available, due to a holiday or to illness, their turnaround takes longer.
However, overall, they make us feel like an important customer and are attentive to our needs.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend that you ask for Alex (Project Manager, JET BI), as he has been great for us thus far.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the IT project coordinator for a software development company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Jet BI?

We were working on a client project that involved enhancing a Salesforce CRM system. Specifically, we were implementing an opportunity checklist, a complete opportunity management module, and a contract subscription module.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jet BI was onboarded as a Salesforce professional and was responsible for the implementation of the three modules. They also performed a lot of custom work for them. Their developer and solution architect worked closely together to input all the data. We used standard Salesforce Sales Cloud object Contract, custom APEX trigger and custom APEX Batch.

What is the team composition?

I knew every resource working on the project. There was a Salesforce developer, solution architect, QA engineer, and a project manager.

How much have you invested with them?

The initial cost was around $5,000. We’re working with them for an extra one-and-a-half month so the overall cost will be $6,000–$7,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Jet BI in mid-February 2018. The work is ongoing and is expected to be complete by August.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their collaborative and professional approach has helped us in a positive way. Their responses are timely and they’ve stuck to the established budget. Whenever we exceed our timelines and budget, the project manager gets in touch to ask whether they should go ahead with the work or wait till the next iteration.

We’ve had videoconferences during which the developer shares his screen, showing us demos of the modules he’s implementing. He’s always eager to help me understand what the product does and how it’s built. I'm satisfied with the experience of working with Jet BI and might hire them again.

How did Jet BI perform from a project management standpoint?

All communication is open and they have solid management skills. I’m aware of every particular piece of work being done for the site. Since we’re working in different locations, it’s important to me as a customer to know what’s going on with development, and they’ve never hidden any information from me.

Overall, their project management is satisfactory, though they could incorporate some project management tools. When our project manager went on vacation and another stepped in, the workflow remained seamless. Most of the communication is done through email and GoToMeeting.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality they’ve delivered for this integration is the most remarkable aspect of this collaboration. I wouldn’t say it’s extraordinary, but it was done neatly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I do recommend that they start providing more precise quotes so that we won’t have to review them again after surpassing the budget. I would appreciate having some buffers in place, but ultimately everything was coordinated with me.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Jet BI has professional people. I’ve had a good experience, and I would definitely recommend them to others.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a consulting company with 2 main divisions: business and IT consulting. I am a manager of the IT consulting team, and my responsibilities are around both consulting activities and project management.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JET BI?

We were looking for a team to help us with our development load. We are a Salesforce Partner, and have many customers in our region, but we have limited development resources. We use subcontractors for additional workloads, and have worked with 3-5 vendors, one of them being JET BI.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

JET BI provided Salesforce development for multiple customers of ours. We initially needed their assistance for some functionalities on a more conventional project. We’ve worked on a few projects over time, and have 2 ongoing projects at the moment. They’ve advised us regarding different solutions based on Salesforce standards. They are currently working with us for the development of web services between Salesforce and third-party solutions owned by the customer. We’ve also had discussions regarding more complex tasks and projects. Aside from development, JET BI has also provided UI design.

We were assigned project managers, Apex developers, UI designers and quality assurance specialists. Overall, we’ve worked with around 10 different people from JET BI’s side, including 3 project managers. We’ve recently been working with a single manager, but we used more on previous projects. We’ve worked with around 4 or so development resources from their team.

In terms of the consultation provided by JET BI for the more complex tasks, we have worked with Andrey Bosak, who is a technical architect. He made very useful contributions to the customer’s decision and our understanding of the possible approaches to a project.

How did you come to work with JET BI?

We engage with our own customers but rely on subcontractors. I’m not sure what the initial project request for JET BI was, but it may not be relevant, given that our requests are different, depending on the customers we’re working for. Each client has different requests. We asked for work samples from a number of companies, included JET BI, in order to get an idea of how we could work with them, and if the process would be satisfactory.

How much have you invested with JET BI?

I don’t have an overview of all the projects on which we’ve worked with them. For the last 4 which I’ve managed, the work required from them was 100 man hours on average. It highly depends on the tasks we receive from our own customers, which vary greatly.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with JET BI in the beginning of 2017, or at the end of 2016. We’ve worked on at least 5-6 different projects in total, 4 of them for a single customer. One of my former colleagues also engaged with JET BI, so I’m not sure about the exact details. They're working on at least two client projects currently.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I cannot share such information because we don’t track metrics for the projects I manage. Customers split different tasks between different subcontractors, so, even we, as a consulting company, don’t have a full view of the organizational structure and number of users. We have heard very good feedback from the customers assigned to JET BI. As a result, we’ve given additional work from those customers to JET BI.

How did JET BI perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been very happy working with them, and have given the team more and more tasks. They are very detailed, and have given us good initial time-and-materials estimations. If they believe that there will be more hours required than the initial estimate, they will inform us, and allow us to communicate on time with our customers, which is valuable since working with a subcontractor is more complicated. We are okay with this, and it’s the main reason we’ve been working with JET BI continuously.

What did you find most impressive about JET BI?

They have very good knowledge and suggestions for different approaches around complex tasks. Every time we’ve had an issue for which we were unsure how best to proceed, we asked for the opinion of Andrey, the technical architect. Everything we’ve heard from him has been useful for us. We’re actually learning from JET BI, and we’re thankful for this.

Are there any areas JET BI could improve?

From time to time, the communication will take longer between their project managers and the developers. Because we lose time with meetings, we have asked JET BI to maintain a single point of communication with the development team, to ensure that there are no misunderstandings. We haven’t had any other issues when communicating directly with the development team so long as the project manager is aware.

Most of the miscommunication instances came up during the testing period. JET BI is the first party to test the software. We will test it ourselves, and provide the end-customer with the output as well. When the customer comes back with feedback, it will sometimes take more time than needed to come back to the client with a resolution. In these cases, we communicate directly with the developers, who have been responsive and reactive.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the head of development for a Salesforce partner, implementing solutions for their customers. Aside from being a primary vendor for the media industry, we have other solutions and accelerators for various business needs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Jet BI?

We were working on a revenue scheduling solution based on sales data and opportunities. Our challenge was addressing the development overflow in our pipelines. Specifically, we needed to adjust our intellectual property [IP] for a particular customer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We documented the functionality of our IP and sent it to Jet BI. Their team performed a full-scale implementation, including UX [user experience] design, development, and QA testing.

How did you come to work with Jet BI?

We had known Jet BI for many years but hadn't actually worked together until recently. We liked the team's level of English compared to other firms we'd used in the past, and Jet BI seemed to fit in well in terms of cultural and temperament. They were open to new ideas and collaborations. Although we had no proof of their work, we made a note of Jet BI. We gave them a test project and had a positive overall experience.

How much have you invested with Jet BI?

This is confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Jet BI at the beginning of 2016. The workflow increased in the middle of that year. We prefer to have Jet BI's team handle certain types of work. Even though we're not as engaged, we have two ongoing projects at the moment.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I don't have any hard metrics at the moment, but I can say that Jet BI's overall quality of work is decent. I've used offshore firms for a long time, and when there's a misstep in these cases—on either party's side—there will be a reverberation. We may not notice that a missed requirement will turn into a big issue, but things can snowball into a disaster. This has happened with every one of our partners, including Jet BI. I've pinned this down to lack of communication from both parties. From a sound-engineering perspective, echoes and reverbs will degrade over time and distance. However, there are issues which do the opposite—they amplify as time goes on. If we're not 100% sure of expectations over the platform, the situation will get worse and worse as we progress until we address the issue.

If we're not clear, Jet BI will tend to not make educated guesses about where we should be. This is fair since they're a contractor, not a consultant. Whenever we have a lack of information, we tend to be more prescriptive in talking about business processes with customers. While we may expect the same thing from Jet BI, in reality, this is not the role they play. The team needs to have specs and know what to build. In general, Jet BI's team is very good in terms of communication. We've needed to coach them on update regularity and time logging since we noticed some discrepancies. We call issues out on a case by case basis.

How did Jet BI perform from a project management standpoint?

Jet BI hasn't been dead-on in terms of sticking to estimates; they've frequently made adjustments on deadlines. I would rather have Jet BI's team tell me what something will really take from the beginning. They are fairly decent in terms of budgets, getting work done within or under the hours allocated.

What did you find most impressive about Jet BI?

Jet BI’s team is very nimble and able to pick up projects quickly. I don't know how many other customers they have, but Jet BI is very responsive to us. The relationship is in good standing, in the sense that we treat each other like partners rather than as vendors and suppliers. Whenever we start a project with a mixed team, the work is managed by the project manager as if it was being done by one team. We give direct feedback to Jet BI's developers, treating the group as a source for staff augmentation.

Are there any areas Jet BI could improve?

Communication and improved timesheets justifying the work done are points of improvement. Since we're paying the bills, we want to know what we're paying for. Oftentimes, Jet BI's team will be less responsive and disappear without us knowing why. They've also missed meetings without notice. I was able to resolve this by contacting one of Jet BI's founders.

Projects have mostly stuck to deadlines and budgets, and Jet BI continues to produce consistently high-quality development work. They have met expectations and are a flexible team to work with.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of an implementation partner for Salesforce. We do implementations of Salesforce for our clients. We build our own apps for other companies that are running on Salesforce as well.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Jet BI?

We had been partnering with a different company for offshore capabilities and we were looking to replace that company. Over the time we’ve worked with them, they just dropped the ball too many times from a technical and professional standpoint.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Jet BI has worked on a gamut of projects from Salesforce. These include Apex development, Visual Course development, Lightning Components and Development, and integration between Salesforce and other systems. They also developed applications on the Salesforce Heroku platform.

How did you come to work with Jet BI?

I knew them from a previous business relationship.

How much have you invested with Jet BI?

We would like to keep that confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

Jet BI started as a partner of ours for offshore capabilities and we’ve been working together for about 2 and half years. We continue to work with them and they are handling a number of projects for us.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Jet BI continues to be our go-to resource for this type of need when we are outsourcing something. From that standpoint, we are putting our money where our mouth is. Jet BI is good.

How did Jet BI perform from a project management standpoint?

Usually, they are on time and also flexible. We had times we would have a deadline, and something would come up on another initiative for us. We would ask them to shift from project A to project B, with the understanding that’s going to delay project A but it’s at our direction. Our experience is that as long as we are giving Jet BI timely and accurate feedback, they will hit the deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about Jet BI?

Jet BI is very good at what they do.

Are there any areas Jet BI could improve?

Nothing comes to mind.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re a Salesforce consulting practice. I’m the owner.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JET BI?

Our customers come to us to help them implement custom sales and marketing solutions on Salesforce. We needed to have a flexible, scalable development team because our projects don’t always come in a consistent, even flow. Sometimes, we get busier and sometimes not.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company scopes out the initial requirements, and then our in-house designers and developers will collaborate with JET BI’s team on designs. Sometimes, we will send drafts back to the customer or have the customer answer questions to make sure each solution is designed right. From the customer’s perspective, JET BI is an extension of our team.

As an example of our work together, one of our customers wanted to do a very customizable forecasting of revenue, so we worked with JET BI. We designed the solution. JET BI did most of the development for that, including the user interface, code, and a lot of JavaScript that would make the solution work. They’ve been developing for us predominantly in Visualforce—a custom user interface for Salesforce—Apex—a development language similar to Java—and JavaScript.

We usually work with 3 or 4 people, depending on the size of the project. This is generally the same group of people: a developer who often works with us, a business contact, a quality assurance person, and occasionally designers. We don’t necessarily talk to everybody. They take care of the project themselves and then send it over to us.

How did you come to work with JET BI?

We met with JET BI a few times and asked them to perform a couple of small projects to test the waters and make sure we would cooperate well together. I knew developers were something that I wanted to add to the team. I was talking to a couple of people, but I like JET BI and their style.

Like I said, we did some smaller projects upfront just to see how we would work together. I thought the team was very good at what it does. Everything worked quite well, so we’ve been in business for probably half a year now.

How much have you invested with JET BI?

We have spent around $60,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working in July 2016. The work has been consistent. I haven’t had to grow our cooperation, so they have been able to take on a consistent flow of work from us. The work is ongoing, and they are doing 2 projects for us right now.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I’m very hands-on, so I work with them closely. I am also a developer, so I also look at their work at the code level. They do very good quality work. They are clearly good developers, and they add value to the process. I have worked with many outsourced teams that will just do what you tell them to, and that’s the extent of what they are going to do. In the case of Andrey and his team, they add value to the process. They make good suggestions, and they're very diligent in the work they do.

How did JET BI perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very good about meeting their deadlines. They are also very good at asking questions and documenting things.

We have used Google Docs, but we are a Salesforce shop, so we use a Chatter group. They communicate to us through our portal. The frequency with which we talk depends on how much work we have going on, but it ranges anywhere from every other week to a couple of times a week. When I first asked them to take on some work, they provided me with well-detailed estimates, so it’s easy to understand what they’re going to be working on. It’s been very good.

What did you most impressive about JET BI?

They are very collaborative in the sense that I approached Andrey and said, “I would like to get a couple of your developers certified and add them to our team to expand our footprint of certified consultants.” That’s not a development task, but he said, “Okay. No problem. I’ll do that.” I was very impressed and appreciative that he would be willing to do that.

Are there any areas JET BI could improve?

Not really. They have done everything I have asked and done it very well.

The client submitted this review online.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the director of sales for Auriga, which is a software engineering services provider. Our headquarters is in the US, and we have over 300 software developers in Lithuania and Russia.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with JET BI?

The Salesforce CRM [customer relationship management] is the most widely used solution in the business world. Many corporations purchase the product and then fail miserably when they attempt to configure it for their specific sales or customer relationship model. The ability to offer customized solutions to meet this customer base's requirements is a large and lucrative market. Finding a company to work with towards this end is a daunting task, but JET BI has successfully navigated this path.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

JET BI focused on the Salesforce integration part of our project. They worked on customer intake process automation using Visualforce and Apex, which supported more than 50 energy-efficiency programs across the US. JET BI was responsible for rules engine implementation for complex data validation and integrity checks. They also handled the implementation of the partner community using custom Visualforce pages. This project involved integration solution architecture design, and JET BI worked with the Oracle Field Service Cloud as well as multiple in-house software solutions via REST API. JET BI helped roll out these solutions to different regions and energy efficiency programs. They also provide ongoing Salesforce development and administration support.

How did you come to work with JET BI?

We interviewed many companies throughout the world. After an exhaustive search, we decided to work on a project with JET BI. Our management and technical staff merged seamlessly, which has led to a long-term relationship.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted for around 18 months. We continued to work with JET BI as other opportunities which required their input came up. We haven’t won other relevant proposals, but I continue to interact with JET BI.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

This has been one of our most successful deliveries. JET BI performed their tasks flawlessly and earned the respect of both Auriga and our mutual client. The client loved working and interacting with JET BI. It worked well enough for us to continue searching for projects for JET BI.

How did JET BI perform from a project management standpoint?

They were a part of our team, so we used our internal project manager. Salesforce was only a piece of the overall work. JET BI took part in our daily stand-ups and Scrum meetings, as part of the whole Agile software development approach. It went really smoothly.

What did you find most impressive about JET BI?

We were impressed by their communication and collaboration. This was a very successful project, and I’m continuing to work with JET BI.

Are there any areas JET BI could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of.
