When we decided to build our core loan origination platform, we quickly realized we couldn't do it with just the two of us. But we also weren't at the stage where hiring a full in-house engineering department made financial sense. We needed a dedicated team that could genuinely embed into what we were building — not just a vendor we'd hand tickets to and hope for the best.

SOLUTION

We found InvoZone through a recommendation and had a few honest conversations with them before committing. What gave me confidence was that they pushed back on a couple of our early assumptions during the discovery phase. That's rare. Most vendors just nod and start billing.

They put together a team of six  backend devs, a frontend developer, DevOps, QA, and a project manager who became almost like a third co-founder in terms of how involved he was. The first two weeks were a proper discovery sprint where they got deep into our architecture, our compliance requirements (GDPR, PSD2), and our product thinking. After that, we moved into two-week sprints and things just... flowed.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We launched on time and had our first three bank clients live within two months of go-live. The platform has handled thousands of loan applications without any critical issues. The DevOps engineer built us a CI/CD pipeline that made deployments something we actually look forward to rather than dread.

The biggest thing for me was consistency. Same people, month after month, who actually understood our domain and cared about the outcome. That's hard to find. When something came up, they didn't wait to be told; instead, they flagged it, suggested a solution, and moved. The project manager, in particular, was exceptional at keeping things transparent without turning every update into a lengthy status meeting.

If I had to mention one thing, then it would be that the first couple of sprints were a bit slower as they got up to speed on the complexity of lending compliance. But honestly, that's just reality when you're building something this specialized, and they picked it up faster than I expected.

I'd work with them again without hesitation. In fact, we still are.

One area for improvement would be around proactive communication and anticipating downstream impacts of changes. There were a few moments during the project where changes were made without fully thinking through how they’d affect other parts of the workflow. As a result, we encountered some avoidable rework and additional adjustments later on.

With stronger foresight and earlier flagging of potential ripple effects, the process could have been smoother. That said, the team was always responsive and willing to course-correct quickly when these situations came up.

Their ability to asking as many questions was helpful to identify gaps in requirements for our client. Invozone team was quite helpful in understanding and resolving production issues at run time.

What was the scope of their involvement?

InvoZone is developing a fully responsive website for us from scratch, compatible with mobile phones, desktop devices, and tablets. As for the technology stack, they’ve used React Native, React.js,  Solidity as blockchain technology, and JavaScript. We’re almost done with the development project, but we’re planning to go with InvoZone into a maintenance plan where they’ll assist me weekly.

It’s a crypto marketplace where people can buy anything with cryptocurrencies, including both physical and digital objects. Users can connect their third-party decentralized wallets to our marketplace to make purchases. Our platform uses smart contracts to lock the payments and release them when people receive their goods. We’ve also implemented shipping APIs to have couriers delivering the physical products.

We work with a project manager, a customer satisfaction manager, a blockchain developer, a frontend developer, and a backend developer.

Our collaboration with InvoZone has been good. They’ve deployed my UI designs very well, and they’ve always found a way to implement all the features I’ve asked for.

InvoZone’s project management has almost always been good. Although we’ve had some misunderstandings, they’ve always had someone looking after our project. Our communication with their developers is also very good. We communicate via Slack and Google Meet, and we use Trello to organize tasks.

InvoZone has an extensive team, and they always find a solution to implement the features we want.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if InvoZone ensured perfect communication from the beginning. Although their communication isn’t bad, they need time to adjust initially.
