From there, they began building the app for iOS and Android from scratch. Customers can also manage items revolving around bicycles and find relevant products and services.
Although the app has been the main deliverable, Inventcolabs has also developed a promotional website with a few pages to give customers an idea of the features. The site walks users through registering, updating their profiles, and accessing items. Additionally, it contains our terms and conditions and privacy policy.

Initially, I worked with the business development manager and the project leader. Now, I deal mainly with a project manager, and now and then, I deal with the business development manager for any required changes.

The initial scoping exercise was important to find certain elements I had overlooked. The only reason I picked up on these was thanks to my discussion with the Inventcolabs team. After going live, they offered three months of free support, and they also offered to send the source code in case I wanted to store it in the cloud. Overall, they've been agreeable to anything we ask of them, whether we need proof of work or sign an NDA. They do exactly what their clients ask of them.
How did Inventcolabs perform from a project management standpoint?
We used an Excel sheet to create the proposal for the project. They’re also using Adobe XD for sharing the UI with us. Regarding communication, we use Zoom.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very transparent and give full visibility into the project costs, providing the best way to do it at a low price. For example, I wanted them to develop the apps natively. Still, they let me know that using a native programming language would be more expensive, and they offered something cost-effective.
Overall, they study our project to give us the best performance, better than what we expect. They don’t just want to take our money; they’re working on getting continuity with us.
In addition to that, their team stays updated on the newest technologies, and if there’s a new feature in the industry, they wait and ensure that it works perfectly before offering it to us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Make sure to plan your entire project. If you don’t have enough information, that could be a problem because they do exactly what you ask and will follow your instructions step by step. They’re great with time management and have competitive prices while delivering great performance, but you have to be very thorough with the information you provide them.

We needed help in developing a mobile app for our business.

What was the scope of their involvement?
Inventcolabs is developing our mobile app using cross-platform technologies like Flutter, but they generally offer different technology options. They first studied what we wanted to create and suggested multiple options, broken down by pricing and timeframes.
We started with a web version and later converted that into iOS and Android apps. After that, they built a bespoke targeting algorithm. Overall, the app is different from others on the market and Inventcolabs custom-made it to fit my goals, which are standard API integrations with Google and similar platforms.

Building the algorithm was a huge achievement. Also, we faced some bugs during development, but they fixed everything by the time we deployed the app.

Their pricing is outstanding; we looked at other providers, and the amounts asked were too big compared to what we’re paying Inventcolabs now.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don't think there's anything they can improve on — it feels like they’re working on their own project. We’ve had many issues, and they were our fault, but Inventcolabs didn’t mention it. They keep working without asking for additional fees — Inventcolabs cares about the relationship and wants to keep it long-term.

We haven’t launched the app yet, but we’re satisfied with their work. The messaging feature works perfectly now. Before, it had significant delays and issues with the notifications, but they solved all of them; the messages are instantly delivered. We tested the app after they finished, and it went pretty well.
How did Inventcolabs perform from a project management standpoint?
They were excellent. We’ve worked with many freelancers and development companies before, but Inventcolabs was superior in communication. They understood what we said and gave suggestions. Overall, they cared about how the project would turn out.
We communicated through WhatsApp, and they were available every time we texted. Also, we had a couple of Zoom calls and emails in the beginning.

What challenge were you trying to address with Inventcolabs?
Over the years, I’ve tried to analyze how people spend money on a day-to-day basis. In understanding these patterns, I wanted to create a way to help people create wealth. I partnered with Inventcolabs to build out the solution.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We provided some documentation in the beginning, but Jitendra (Business Development Manager) handled everything, took the lead, and initiated discussions around the solution. I understand technology processing but I’m not knowledgeable on certain business functionalities and rules, so that’s where they came in and saved the day.
Inventcolabs proceeded to develop the system and its entire concept, including the admin processing aspect. The final product was a mobile platform that connects to an onsite extension whether it be a laptop or an iPad. We named this app Hubwallet.
Our product is basically a digital payment platform that enables account holders to earn money in South Africa and transfer it through the system. Users can also buy food or extract money from local shops using the tokens that they earn on the platform.
Our intention is to explore international markets as well, but currently, the app is just geared for African markets. We’re specifically targeting foreign workers in South Africa who have families abroad. We intend for them to use our smartcard digital payment solution to send tokens to their families.
What is the team composition?
I’ve mostly dealt with Jitendra but there have been around 10–40 people involved at different stages of the project. Jitendra basically acted as project manager.
How did you come to work with Inventcolabs?
I looked around on search engines and sent out a request with my objectives. Inventcolabs responded, so we maintained back-and-forth communication. I saw that their work and designs were quite brilliant, so I reached out to references. Once I confirmed that they have vision, passion, and initiative in what they do, I decided to hire them.

Our partnership began around August–September 2021, and we’re still working together.
