The company is distributed third generation blockchain and at the time my position was CEO for the Amercias.

We needed to develop a blockchain based payment gateway to accept as tokens in a robotic vending machine for the Labitconf Conference in Uruguay. We selected Inmind to develop it, based on their extensive experience with blockchain.

Inmind is a company that has a lot of experience in developing mobile and blockchain solutions, they had a very good knowledge of our blockchain and sophia our smart contract language.

We were under a very tight schedule and the payment gateway could not fail because we had to present the robotic vending machine in the largest Blockchain Conference in latin america Labitconf.

We created a jopint team with inmind, the people responsible for the robotic vending machine and our tecnical team, but all the development coordination was done my inmind.

INMIND built an app for iOS and Android devices that allows consumers with products and verifies the tracer ID throughout the supply chain. That involves connecting with our blockchain ecosystem and developed a futuristic, animated app for one of the largest retailers in Latin America.

I chose them based on the feedback and experiences of other companies they’ve worked with in the past.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project ran from April until November 2019. They still provide support services, and we’re looking to engage them in new projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

INMIND did an excellent job. Everything from the project management to the development phase to support went smoothly. They were attentive to any issues that arose. We couldn’t have been happier with their service.

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

One thing we want to highlight is their ability to understand the requirements and push back when needed. Every time they didn’t understand or felt that a different solution would work better, they spoke up. That proactivity and willingness to come up with the best solution was something we really liked.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their design and animations were really cool. The way they deliver on target with our timeline also satisfied us.

Last Bottle Wines is an online wine retailer that sells one particular wine a day at a discount, otherwise known as a flash sale. I work as the director of marketing, managing our social media, advertising, blog content, and partnerships.

For what projects/services did your company hire INMIND?

We previously had an existing mobile app that was very basic; it was nothing more than a bookmark to our site and only allowed us to send push notifications when a new offer hit. When we decided to build the new iteration, we engaged INMIND to create a fully functional e-commerce app that could essentially do everything our website could. 

What were your goals for this project? 

Our primary objective was to rebuild our app from the ground up, adding a payment functionality, prompts to review the app, the ability to register an account, and so on. We also hoped to maintain a relationship with our chosen development partner for future updates.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor? 

Our previous app developers quoted out of our price range, so I posted an ad on Upwork to find a new partner. Out of roughly 50 applicants, I narrowed the list down to about 5–10 agencies before I started to ask questions, reviewing each vendor’s work and website. I went with INMIND because they gave a reasonable estimate, seemed to have a good track record, and communicated reasonably well in English.  

Describe the project in detail. 

Within a month, INMIND fully rebuilt our app for iOS/Android, hosting the source code on GitHub so that we could completely own the solution. The app allows users to register an account and purchase wine online. There are also prompts for users to leave reviews for the app.

What was the team composition? 

Omar (Co-Founder, INMIND) and Juan (Co-Founder, INMIND) have been my primary contacts since the beginning, but there may have been another resource in the background.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success? 

Overall, I’ve been very happy with INMIND’s work. Now that we have an in-app prompt to get users to leave reviews, the feedback has been almost entirely five-star positive. This has greatly increased our presence and trust in the app stores.

They’ve also set us up on a much better platform to monitor app usage, analytics, crashes, and more, which has come in handy. The app is stable for the most part, and any bugs have been addressed and fixed quickly.

Since then, INMIND has continued to provide ongoing support and upgrades as needed. We recently needed to update Stripe’s payment functionality—it was an issue concerning payment security that was beyond my understanding. But the team was able to make the fix in a matter of weeks, delivering the update on time. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs? 

We communicate mostly via email, and it’s always easy to understand and convey any items that needed fixing. No real timeline or workflow has been necessary. They’ve always been prompt and responsive. 

What did you find most impressive about this company? 

They’re honest and quick to communicate, and they obviously know how to build a good app. They bill us hourly at a reasonable price and have generated good value for us.

The quality of their work is really high. They've solved several issues our customers faced.

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

They're agile and adaptable, modifying their work style to fit our processes. Their responsiveness helps them accomplish what we require.

Three previous developers weren’t able to identify or resolve our solution's problems, but INMIND isolated the problem in a few hours.

I’m project manager at an agency that provides web services for a variety of projects in satellite development and the cryptocurrency space.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with INMIND?

One of our cryptocurrency clients has an internal app called Rocket.Chat, which they host on an internal server. The client gives employees certificates to access the app; these are revoked when they leave the company. Both the internal server and certificates are as important security protections. Rocket.Chat is easy to use on Safari and Firefox, on both Mac and Windows computers. However, the app versions couldn’t process the certificates. We needed a third party to code the iOS and Android apps for this functionality.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

INMIND joined this open-source project. They coded both the iOS and Android versions on Swift and Android Studio, respectively. The team had to work around iOS protocol, which doesn’t allow apps to access device keychains; Rocket.Chat wouldn’t pull the device certificates automatically. To resolve this issue, they created a flow and functionality to open the certificate within the app, save the data, and then use that as access to the Rocket.Chat URL server.

What is the team composition?

We had a product manager, an iOS engineer, and an Android engineer. We also had other people join the team to resolve specific certificate and installation issues.

How did you come to work with INMIND?

Five app developers told us that our request was impossible. Another two developers attempted the fixes, but only determined that they couldn’t be done. INMIND said they could execute the project after completing a discovery phase. We hired them after we validated their plan.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $35,000–$40,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Work started in January 2018 and is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The app ran smoothly after several testing rounds. We didn’t get any feedback from the firm, which is the best kind of feedback.

We’re enjoy working with INMIND. They put the app on GitHub for our client, even though that wasn’t part of the original scope. We’re planning another project similar in size to the current one.

How did INMIND perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is competent and communicates well; they answer our questions clearly and concisely. They’re international, but everyone is nearly in English.

The product manager allowed me to interact with the engineers directly. I’ve served as a product manager, so I knew how to communicate with engineers. The arrangement made work efficient.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They care about keeping the customer happy. Most agencies try to extract fees out of their clients, but INMIND won’t always charge for out-of-scope requests if they’re reasonable. When we do pay extra, the costs are fair for what we’re asking.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there aren’t. There were some bumps, but all web development projects have new ground to negotiate. Neither party will be prepared for every circumstance.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important to define the scope early to prevent surprises. Some clients make unexpected requests, unaware of how much work goes into fulfilling them. INMID will help set those parameters and the corresponding budget.

We wanted an app that hit the specific needs of our clients by hosting video and providing access to our content.

They brought our vision to life. They did the backend and frontend development for our iOS and Android app. They walked us through all of the processes. The app provides sports fans with pertinent information about the teams and games throughout events.

I found them on a contracting website. I tried to be thorough about making sure the vision was clear, and they had the right questions. Their proposal was exactly what we needed.

They managed the project well; they always had an overall plan, short meetings to track progress, and an active project manager. If we had priority changes, they’d try to figure out the best way to minimize impact on the general plan.

If you’re developing a minimum viable product, try to strike a balance between budget, quantity of features, and time. If you have a good plan, you’ll be able to get a strong and scalable product.

I am one of the co-founders of a platform that was created by a group of people interested in the accounting space. I joined 3 other partners from Uruguay, who have accounting experience at the regional level, to create this platform, which seeks to serve and/or unite the accounting community.

Our expertise was on the accounting side; INMIND acted as our technology experts. We met with them to talk about our goals and expectations, and our conversations led to this tool. They made recommendations and we trusted their knowledge.

Ultimately, we wanted to bring this idea into the world of technology and needed a firm that provided this expertise because we lacked the technological knowledge.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve developed the platform on iOS and Android with INMIND. Accountants use it as a social networking platform to connect and communicate with each other in order to obtain contacts, ask questions, or talk to other people with the same interests.

How did you come to work with INMIND?

We initially met them through contacts in Montevideo, Uruguay. We thought that their ideas and flexibility were helpful, and wanted them to make further recommendations after the first meetings we had with them. They acted as partners that were committed to our idea and helped us approach this project in a clear way.

We started working 2 years ago and the collaboration is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?

The application development has taken longer because it has been evolving and changing based on several recommendations from its users. Our objective is to make it global. We have 20,000 users each on both iOS and Android; 280,000 followers on Facebook; and 100,000 followers on LinkedIn. We think these numbers are significant, and even Google has contacted us. It was highlighted as an app with great potential and its cost-per-click of $0.06 is one of the lowest.

How did perform from a project management standpoint?

We aren’t 100% focused on this project, which has made things slower, but INMIND has always been available on their end. Based on our own availability to work on the project, we coordinated the best times for developing the app. We have good communication and there haven't been any significant inconveniences. Their support is also very good.
