Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the exhibits manager of a natural science and history museum. I am in charge of what our exhibits are, what is coming and going, and how they're presented. We have an extensive collection of historical artifacts relating to the Quad Cities area of Iowa/Illinois: Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, and Rock Island. We've recently expanded to having a science center with more interactive and hands-on experiences.
What challenge were you trying to address with InfiCare?
We wanted an application which could give people more information. The challenge with becoming more interactive and hands-on is that there are more bells-and-whistles for the application. It's a way of providing more content, but there can also be too many elements plastered around the same topic.
What was the scope of their involvement?
InfiCare developed our app. We needed to make sure that, if someone wanted more information, they could dig deeper and have access to videos, general working hours, a navigational map, and so on. Our building is kind of rambling and large, so providing people with a way to navigate it was important. We also wanted to give teachers a tool through which they could organize and create shopping lists before they came to the museum. Our app should let them look at what programs, movies, and exhibits would support their particular curriculum.
How did you come to work with InfiCare?
I did research around other museums which had created applications, looking for a company that could offer a cost effective and fast turnaround. We had received money through a grant and had a strict timeline to adhere to. I found 2 to 3 options and contacted the other museums, asking about their experience with the developer. InfiCare sounded very good.
How much have you invested with InfiCare?
We have worked on 2 projects with InfiCare, with a total cost of between $10,000 and $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with InfiCare in July 2015 and the platform was finished in October 2016. The work is pretty much finished but we have some ongoing server maintenance work with InfiCare.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
InfiCare delivered our platform in the timeframe we wanted. We had suggestions and questions on a couple of occasions and InfiCare made updates and changes accordingly. The platform went through several iterations, but the work was completed ahead of schedule and for the set price. During our testing phase, we received a lot of positive feedback on the app's interface and functionality. It was a seamless experience. Any problems we came across were due to our logical designs more than technical issues on InfiCare's side.
How did InfiCare perform from a project management standpoint?
We dealt with InfiCare's principals and had a series of teleconference meetings, during which we were able to relay all the information needed. We moved along within our timeline, so it was easy to maintain the project from my perspective. InfiCare worked directly with our marketing and education departments in order to pull the information they needed to fill out the graphics, quiz questions, and so on.
What did you find most impressive about InfiCare?
I appreciated InfiCare turnaround time and responsiveness.
Are there any areas InfiCare could improve?
I'm trying to think of something, but it was a very straightforward and easy process overall.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with InfiCare?
InfiCare is good at fleshing out a vision or idea once it's been provided. Clients shouldn't be afraid of suggesting different things to try out. One of our marketing people came across one of those 360-degree cameras and asked if it would be possible to integrate photos like that into the app. Over the weekend, InfiCare worked on it and sent us a demo for how it could be utilized.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the president and CEO of HealthCare Facility Compliance (HCF Compliance). We provide hospitals with a complete compliance solution that is accessible through mobile devices. This allows them to have everything they need at their fingertips, including the inspection of every asset in a facility and all documentation.
What challenge were you trying to address with InfiCare?
We needed help with creating our system.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We put together the specs for our documents management solution, but InfiCare's team was very creative in coming up with ease-of-use approaches beyond what we'd anticipated. As an example, we have a single repository for all incoming documents for a certain facility. These can be shown to inspectors, showing that the hospitals performed tasks like evacuation planning with the required frequency. The application prompts users to check for necessary details like signatures, dates, and so on. The app creates a trail listing the people who received the documents and their qualifications.
Our system also has integration with hospitals' floor plans, highlighting fire and smoke exits. For each one, there is a list of all that needs to be done in order to inspect it. Users can also see previous inspections and upcoming ones based on government requirements.
How did you come to work with InfiCare?
InfiCare was recommended to us. We looked at 4 other companies, but I was comfortable with InfiCare's approach. They didn't nitpick around the costs and had a very good team. I had a good enough comfort level with their US leadership in order to give InfiCare a try. They have senior people making sure that what we're looking for is what we'll actually get.
How much have you invested with InfiCare?
The cost of InfiCare's work has been close to $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with InfiCare in July 2016.
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We have a complete, CAD-integrated workflow and document management solution. The fact that InfiCare was able to complete it within the allocated time is beyond belief. InfiCare understood our needs from the start, which I attribute to their on-shore presence. The local members have a better understanding of our solution and can propose creative solutions to us.
The software can be measured through the quality of the builds we receive, the overall design, and the developer's understanding of our needs. InfiCare received an A on each front. It's been a great experience. Given our short timeframe, I'm amazed at what we've accomplished.
How did InfiCare perform from a project management standpoint?
We work through weekly sprints and review our progress continually. InfiCare assigned a project manager to us, with whom we've communicated almost daily. They're not afraid to pick up the phone or send an email if they have a question. I feel that there are never stupid questions, only stupid answers, so I've appreciated InfiCare's inquisitiveness in getting the information they need. In order to have better clarifications, they're not shy about mentioning the information they don't understand. This helps a lot with our project management and allows for better communication to the team of what we need.
What did you find most impressive about InfiCare?
I appreciate InfiCare's ability to understand the scope of a project. They made an effort to understand every component of our scope, making sure that everything was there and we wouldn't have to recreate the work.
Are there any areas InfiCare could improve?
I've sometimes needed to wait for some team members to become available, but InfiCare has 24/7 customer support. Overall, InfiCare has been a straight, direct, and honest team in terms of what they could or couldn't do and what their expectations are.
What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with InfiCare?
Clients should spend the time to go through the details around what an application is about. InfiCare can be very helpful during the initial design.
The app received very positive feedback and was completed ahead of schedule within the set price. The client appreciated this timeliness as well as the responsiveness of Inficare's team.
