Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The process was gone so smoothly that we never faced a giant issues with the team, however, our opinions were different on some points. But they were resolved after discussion on it. Above all, the most appreciated thing of Indylogix is: they delivered the project on time by completing the modules in a scheduled time.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Amazing project management. We had worked with other firms but none of them could matched with the Indylogix project management.

My partner and I founded Rhenium Capital. We’re a 3-man team with a focus on commercial real estate finance, sales, and advisory.

What challenge were you trying to address with IndyLogix?
We wanted a more modern and functional website that looks good on desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We already had a website, but we basically had a full tear-down. We worked together with IndyLogix to come up with some website templates and themes we liked, then we had them customize a lot of areas of the site. We had a template for our main website and a blog template from a different website. IndyLogix merged those together and uploaded all of our current information, which saved us a ton of time. They excelled at customizing stuff for us.
They made recommendations about where to put our social share buttons and stuff like that. They also added some plugins to help us manage the site better. We made some edits once we started using the site, and they incorporated our feedback, made suggestions, and responded to us. We were pretty happy with that. The website is built on WordPress.
How did you come to work with IndyLogix?
My friend did our first website, and he was working for a company here in the US that develops websites for businesses. I went back to him for the update, but he said he wasn’t at that company anymore. He referred us to IndyLogix because his previous company had subcontracted them for development projects. We went directly to IndyLogix.
How much have you invested with IndyLogix?
We spent around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from April to October of 2016. We no longer work with IndyLogix regularly, but I have gone back to them for light touch-ups. For example, I didn’t originally think I needed a comment section on my blog, but I had them add that later. We might be making more drastic changes as we keep fine-tuning our business model, and they’ll be the source I check with in the future.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
We don’t do too much marketing, so we’re not constantly trying to build leads or track the traffic on the site. We’re only looking to close a handful of deals every month. People give us compliments on the site all the time. A ton of people read our blog, and I think people also share blog posts easier due to the functionality we used.
We engaged IndyLogix to change our original site because we had gotten a lot of traction on LinkedIn, but nothing was tying back to our site. That’s when retooled the site to be more modern and to integrate better with social media. We’ve definitely seen an improvement. We’re closing a lot more business now than before we changed the site, but that’s probably not the only factor.
How did IndyLogix perform from a project management standpoint?
They did really well. I worked with Tarun, who was the project manager. He responded to me very quickly. His English is good, he’s very professional, and he was fairly available for calls and consulting. He always had a solution for whatever I brought to him, which is why I’ll definitely continue to use them in the future. We communicated via phone, email, and Skype.
What did you find most impressive about IndyLogix?
Most web developers in the US contract work to folks in India and other countries. My friend said that IndyLogix is really good, but it’s hard to communicate with most of the other foreign-based web companies. It’s very easy to communicate with IndyLogix. Working with them is great; they’re very responsive and professional.
Are there any areas IndyLogix could improve?
I can’t really think of anything, but maybe they could offer more suggestions.

I’m the owner and creative director of Bridge Builder Digital, a boutique web development and branding firm.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with IndyLogix?
I was looking to resolve deep coding issues and general WordPress conflicts. I was also looking for educational mentors. As I worked with IndyLogix, I learned. They have very knowledgeable web developers and designers. As we solved problems, I always asked about the process. They solve problems that come up in the flow or design and development for websites and other digital marketing clients.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We do the design and development in-house. Once we get the site to a certain place and need mobile responsiveness to be optimized, or if we have plugins creating problems, I work with one of the Indy developers to resolve issues.
They’ve helped me a lot with hacked websites. I can’t ensure that all of my clients invest in the best hosting out there. A lot of them come to me when they already have long-standing contracts with web hosts. We do our best to secure these websites, but sometimes they get hacked. Indy has been amazing at stepping in, going through all the files, scrubbing out the malware injections, reinstalling the WordPress core files, running tests, and communicating with Google to get the webmaster restriction lifted. They’re honestly like my special ops team when problems arise.
How did you come to work with IndyLogix?
I was looking for a local web developer in the Bay Area of California. I also got a lot of overseas applicants from China, England, and India. Most of the responses were of the generic, copy-and-paste variety, but I could see that Tarun [Manager of Business Development, IndyLogix], who had written the response, had really read my brief and explained their services. His response seemed genuine, and their portfolio was impressive.
I got on a call with him that night. I had a new technology I wanted to explore, and I wanted to talk about it with a senior developer. Tarun connected me with someone that evening, and within a couple hours, we had done some cool work together. I love communicating directly with a very experienced team. From there, Tarun told me about how they work. Most people just send a PSD or a mockup and tell the provider to develop it. That’s not what I do. I like building, but I have limitations, so I told him I was looking for senior developers to be at the helm with me when needed. He understood that, and they’ve been supporting me ever since.
How much have you invested with IndyLogix?
I generally spend between $10,000 and $15,000 a year with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in January of 2013, and our relationship is ongoing.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I’ve worked with developers in over 10 countries, including Indonesia, the UK, Germany, Argentina, Panama, and the United States. There’s something about this Indian team. Their morale is high, and they have a great sense of humor. They also take work seriously and are always eager to please. I never get an attitude or weird sarcasm from them. I’m a happy-go-lucky guy, and I just find that this team shares those personality traits, and they’re fast. I’ve been working with the same developer for many years, and I don’t even have to finish my sentences. We have great flows. They have all my data stored. I trust them with my sensitive server information. At this point, they speak my language.
The quality of their work exceeds my expectations. Most people misunderstand how remote teams work. I realized early on that you have to invest time in the relationship. If you’re going to be a project manager, it’s not just giving orders. You have to essentially do the work on paper and then have them execute in code. We use a lot of screenshots, explanation, confirmation that there’s understanding, and working live side by side. I don’t just send task lists and hope they’re done the next day. This is a collaboration, a co-working experience for me.
How did IndyLogix perform from a project management standpoint?
They offer project management, but I run that myself. For someone who doesn’t have time to do that, Tarun is the best project manager you could ask for. He’s been working in the industry for over a decade and seen every kind of project. The owners of the company are technical themselves, so know what they are doing. They’re a technically based and founded firm with a very supportive team.
We use Skype and email to communicate. We’ve spoken on the phone a few times, and they’ve invited me to office parties over Skype, which I’ve enjoyed. Mostly, we use Skype messenger.
What did you find most impressive about IndyLogix?
I really appreciate Tarun’s involvement and dedication to ensuring I’m always satisfied. He's always making sure that I’m understood. I really appreciate that he's always paying attention. When you work with individual freelancers, sometimes they aren’t available, have computer issues, or are too busy for you. The advantage of IndyLogix is that if there’s an emergency project for them, they have additional people who can jump in. I always feel supported, no matter what.
Are there any areas IndyLogix could improve?
They might want to implement more customer feedback. I’ve been working closely with them for 4 years, and I’ve never received any kind of survey or satisfaction form. They’ve never asked for any review. Tarun has casually asked me how it’s working with various people, but they might want to implement an annual survey. I’ve been referring them within my network for years and continue to do so. I really have no complaints.

Everything has been smooth sailing since I started working with them. In my experience, it's a commonplace for web development to be at times gritty or stressful.
