I’m the technical lead for a technology provider. We offer technical solutions for hospitality professionals—like hotels—to help them with their online distribution.

What challenge were you trying to address with ImproveIT Solutions?
To grow our customer base, we needed more resources on the software development team. We were looking for a frontend developer for some of our projects. Our company is based in Switzerland where there’s a shortage of skilled software developers.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started off with one of their frontend developers and we were very happy with that collaboration so we continued from there. Now, we’re working with different people from ImproveIT Solutions. They’re fully integrated into our team. They’re working daily with us, together with our in-house developers, on the same sprints and codebase.
Mainly, we’re working on the frontend of Vue.js applications. The backend developer they assigned is very skilled with Node.js applications and several AWS frameworks.

We’re working with one frontend developer and one backend developer. Next week, a third person will join the team.

The first developer working with us was eventually replaced because he wasn’t a good match with our team. The help of ImproveIT Solutions was very appreciated because they understood that the person didn’t correspond to what we were looking for and they found a good person who is still working with us today. The transition between the two developers was very easy for us. It was a very transparent transition of knowledge between the two of them. The new person fits very well with our team.
They are always looking for feedback from our internal developers to see if everything is going well. We’ve only gotten good feedback from our monthly discussions.
How did ImproveIT Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We do a daily standup with them and communicate via Slack. For task and issue tracking, we use Jira. It’s very transparent.

Describe the project in detail.
The main goal of the project was to create mobile application for mental health control. Users can put their emotion in the app and solution also fixes time and place of emotion. This information is accumulating in the back-end and user can show the map of his emotions to the doctor.
What was the team composition?
From the very beginning it was one Android developer and one iOs developer. Guys were Middle+ level with good English and great communication skills. At the end of the project Manual tester was added. Few times during the project we also asked to do some design work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Applications were done in time and in the budget. There was limitation in the release date because end customer need to present solution for potential investors.
All was done with great quality. App is still on MVP stage, I hope in future, after the customer will get funds, we will continue to develop new functionality.

Most of project management was done form our side. But people management of the team was great. We were using Asana for the task management, the team work fine. There was no language barrier in the team and with the customer. reaction for feedback was positive.
