I'm the CEO of a fire door inspection company founded a year ago. We're developing an app to assist with our inspections.

What challenge were you trying to address with iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK)? We wanted to create an app for our inspectors and clients to create a database for their products and needs. Our team initially tried to do it using spreadsheets and emails, but it didn't work. Prior to working with iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK), I developed a QR code linked to the database. I met with the team to explain I needed to create an app linked to the QR code, and they told me they could do it.

What was the scope of their involvement?
iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK) is designing and developing mobile applications for iOS and Android. Initially, I shared my ideas with the team and showed exactly what I wanted. I didn't have prior experience developing apps, and I envisaged that I would tell them this is my app; now do it. However, iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK) has brought me back to the starting point and helped me think about what I want the app to do and how to make it happen.
The app's designer has a marketing background and advises on the design and other areas, like SEO and management campaigns. The app will also store information we can access via web remote controls.

We haven't launched the app yet and don't have quantitative metrics at the moment. I came up to iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK) with an app idea and no way of executing it, and I now have a wire framework that I can sell to clients and promote my business with, which is invaluable. I now have a support network, and the team is brave enough to return to me when they think my ideas aren't working. I feel like I'm working with a partner rather than working with a vendor.

One of the developers in India has been amazing. When I don't understand something, he explains it well. The same goes for Jaideep, who accommodates our needs since we're a new business. Working with someone who isn't after the money but is after developing the best product is invigorating. The money will come, and it's great having a supportive friend who has my back.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Nothing is too much effort for iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK). If the team doesn't have the answers to something, they know where to get them, delivering innovative solutions to my problems before I ask them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Our team is cross-continent, and we've had technical problems during calls in some instances. We had to reschedule a call because there were electric storms in the city where a teammate from India lives. I know this wasn't the team's fault, but I ended up working on the weekend and setting time aside. However, this isn't a criticism for them, it's just how nature evolved.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Be honest with iConnect Digital Solutions Ltd (UK) regarding your budget and funding for the project and how much you can spend. I went into the engagement very blinkered regarding my idea and the process of developing an app. I thought there was a magic wand and didn't realize it required a lot of back-office work and information that needed input before the app was ready to use; there is so much detail required before getting a working version.
My suggestion is to trust the process and the team because they're experts.

The team was incredibly attentive and transparent when it came to transactions. They used to notify us about the billings ahead of time and were flexible in negotiating the timelines of the payments. I had previously worked with other providers who had very rigid policies and business practices and didn’t customize their environments for the people they were working with. iConnect info solutions cared a lot about us and adapted entirely to our needs. We wanted to develop a chat-only mobile application for our software. In the app, all the clients who’d gotten our services or products could leave various requisitions for the HR department such as their time attendance. The previous platform we used was built in Java with a digital signal processing (DSP) and a Hibernate framework.

iConnect Info Solutions developed an Android and iOS mobile app from scratch, including the UI/UX design and database. The framework they used for the development was Hibernate. iConnect Info Solutions also created key modules and added them to the app.

From a project management perspective, iConnect Info Solutions gave us regular updates on the project through email and WhatsApp. We didn’t use any project management tools, but we used an Excel sheet where we defined the project’s timeline and resources. We also were able to see each milestone’s percentage of completion, bottlenecks or dependencies, and the risks they could foresee. iConnect Info Solutions highlighted the project in a proactive way.
Our customers were asking for a mobile app for our product, and we needed to develop it very fast within a timeframe. iConnect Info Solutions developed our app within 6–8 months, including the testing and deployment process. The project went very smoothly, and that helped iConnect Info Solutions meet the deadline and deliver what they promised.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of work that iConnect Info Solutions did was good, even though they were a small company. They also had total knowledge of the technology.
One of the aspects I liked about iConnect Info Solutions was that they told us when a particular delivery would be delayed.
Are there any areas they could improve?
iConnect Info Solutions had a lack of design knowledge. I had some expectations for the UI/UX design, and their execution wasn’t great. They acknowledged and said they’d work on that.
Any advice for potential customers?
I recommend iConnect Info Solutions for two things: the first one is they’re cost-effective, and their resources aren’t costly. Secondly, the quality of work I definitely vouch for, so If one of my friends is looking for similar services, they should choose iConnect Info Solutions. Additionally, something that I want to recommend is being very specific about the requirements of the project. If it’s necessary, prepare proper documentation with the exact process and give it to them.

Sometimes small organizations struggle to compete with larger companies when looking for very experienced talent. We have our own flat structure where we manage our own processes, but they could manage projects a bit more for further customers.

We have our own prescriptive and agile process where we don’t have a hierarchical structure. I’d advise potential customers to make sure the team members are fully integrated.
Don’t tolerate any disrespect towards the iConnect team members — this situation usually occurs when the companies outsource people from other countries; they’re not second-class citizens.

From Good Receipt to Work Order completion, the primary functions are catering to W/H Manager, Production and Installation Manager. A mobile solution available to above personas with a simple to use interface and real time update functionality in NetSuite® is the best way to address above problem statements. The mobile solution will be integrated with Dropbox account for photo upload. File naming will be based on work order number. Drop box Link will be updated in Oracle Netsuite.
