HyperSense Software has worked with a training company on designing, developing, and maintaining their e-commerce platform for over 12 years, performing integrations with PayPal, AWS, and Brightcove.
The platform built by HyperSense Software is highly reliable and has a 99.9% uptime, keeping end-customers very happy with the client’s services. The team is very responsive to issues and delivers ahead of schedule and under budget. Moreover, they’re very understanding, consistent, and experienced.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Class on Demand and Studio Backlot, a training company that caters to customers who want to learn how to do video editing for their home movies, small business, or sporting events. In addition to training, we provide clients with the creative elements to allow them to create their own movies very quickly and with very high quality.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We needed help with creating an e-commerce website that allowed us to add and modify our streaming content and graphical elements quickly. Additionally, we wanted a partner who could guide us through the right e-commerce areas with this site.
For example, we have an online monthly recurring revenue, so we deal with a lot of payment service providers, such as credit card companies and PayPal. Therefore, we needed to integrate those services within our website so that our customers had an easy shopping experience. In addition to that, we required our site to be a safe and secure e-commerce solution that allowed us to receive our monthly recurring payments.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
HyperSense Software has helped us design and develop our e-commerce platform. Initially, we had some meetings with them to prepare for the project, during which they asked us about our needs and things we hadn’t even thought about.
We’ve been working with HyperSense Software for a long time, so we’re now in maintenance and updates mode. Whenever one of our third-party service providers tied to our platform — such as AWS and Brightcove — have updates, HyperSense Software takes those updates into consideration and makes changes to our site if needed.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with up to four teammates from HyperSense Software, including Andrei (Managing Partner).
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent north of $500,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around 2010, and our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The direct impact of HyperSense Software’s work on our business is that our customers are very happy with our service. Our e-commerce platform is very reliable, achieving a 99.9% of uptime.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
For most of our major projects, HyperSense Software does research for about a week and comes back with a budget breakdown before we start. We’ve never gone over budget with any project, and most of the time, they actually deliver under budget and ahead of the expected deadline.
On the very rare occasions on which our platform has gone down, we’ve emailed some of the contacts we have from HyperSense Software, and they’ve been very responsive. Even if those emails are sent over the weekend, they reply acknowledging the issue and telling us that they will do what they can either over the weekend or first thing Monday morning. Given that they’re in Romania, those issues have already been resolved by the time we open the doors on Monday morning.
What did you find most impressive about them?
HyperSense Software has been a great partner because they have experience working with a lot of companies, so they’ve been able to leverage that experience to help us. Still, we’ve been with them for around 10–12 years now, so they also leverage the experience they’ve gotten by working with us to help their newer clients.
HyperSense Software is very strong at putting the right team members on our project as needed. I really like we have dedicated team members working on our project. They know us and our website very well, so we never get a new group of people to manage our product.
We can’t put a dollar amount into the fact that we can rely on HyperSense Software to understand who we are and who our customers are. After many years of working together, we don’t have to explain a lot to them other than the issue we need to solve or the update we want. Overall, they’re a great team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything HyperSense Software could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Before contacting HyperSense Software, ensure that you have a solid understanding of what you’re looking for, including the features you want, the budget you have, and the type of support you need. Doing as much homework upfront as possible will save you frustration and misunderstandings.
If you can help HyperSense Software understand what you’re trying to accomplish, they’ll proactively bring up things that you may not have thought of. Don’t be afraid to ask them if they consider you forgot anything because they’ll tell you.

HyperSense Software has developed a mobile application for a data solutions company. HyperSense Software has developed a codebase that they can distribute on Android and iOS devices and offers maintenance.
HyperSense Software helped streamline the development process and make it easier. HyperSense Software work meets the client’s expectations. They meet deadlines and have a quick turnaround. HyperSense Software has great attention to detail and communicates effectively with the client. This review is an update by the client company. The original content is located below the new review.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a manager at a data solutions company. We provide data solutions for different devices and have different clients around the world. I specifically work in the fleet division that provides a white-label solution to our re-seller customers, which is a GPS tracking application.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We have our own developers, but we needed someone that specializes in mobile development. When we first started working with HyperSense Software, we needed to develop a mobile GPS tracking application, which essentially turns your phone into a tracking device.
For that project, HyperSense Software had to develop two different apps: one for Android devices and one for iOS devices. We needed to develop a new app and asked HyperSense Software to streamline the process.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially provided HyperSense Software with an overview of what we were looking for with guidelines and documentation, and they sent back detailed mock-ups for us to review and provide feedback. We then developed the APIs that HyperSense Software needed to develop the app.
HyperSense Software has suggested different models to streamline the process and developed one codebase that we can distribute to Android and iOS devices. The new app is an extension of our web-based platform, which allows users to log in, see all the information about their tracked devices, and configure alerts, among other things.
The APIs were developed using GraphQL, which has more flexibility than a standard device would allow. Our platform receives data from over 400 different devices, and HyperSense Software offers us tech support and maintenance as needed. They also help us deploy the app on Google Play Store and the App Store, and we host the app on our own servers.
What is the team composition?
My main contact is one of HyperSense Software’s managing partners. I also work with a lead developer, with whom I interact frequently, and other members of the development and graphic design team. I recently was introduced to a client care specialist who will send us weekly reports.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
We found HyperSense Software through an online search while looking for a consultant to help us with mobile development projects. We contacted a handful of companies and liked HyperSense Software the most, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested over $100,000 in this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with HyperSense Software in March 2019, and our partnership is ongoing. We have projects planned for the next 3–4 quarters.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The codebase HyperSense Software developed made the process easier. HyperSense Software’s performance and work are excellent. We’re happy with our engagement, and that’s why we’ve been working together for four years.
Moreover, HyperSense Software helps track the app’s performance and optimize it. However, this is a side piece to our main application, so we don’t actually sell the app. We don’t track quantitative metrics or sales per se.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
HyperSense Software always meets deadlines. Usually, it's our side that causes delays because we have a lot of moving parts and need to get all details right before sending them to HyperSense Software. Once we send them all the required details, HyperSense Software is able to turn the work around very quickly.
Moreover, HyperSense Software uses Redmine for project management, and we use Jira. I can access their Redmine profile, but I don’t use it. We communicate through email and have weekly meetings through Microsoft Teams.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed with HyperSense Software’s attention to detail and communication skills. We’re located in different countries, and English is not HyperSense Software’s first language. I really appreciate that we haven’t had any language barriers, which has happened to me before with other companies.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything for HyperSense Software to improve. They’ve brought extra resources to the team whenever we've faced a challenge.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
In development projects, the better your lay down your project’s requirements, the better the outcome will be.

Project summary:
HyperSense Software inherited a GPS mobile application and rebuilt the Android and iOS product’s backend to ensure its functionality. The team is developing an app from scratch and redesigning a web product.
Feedback summary:
The initial project’s success resulted in an expansion of the engagement. By consistently delivering satisfactory results on time, HyperSense Software secures a long-term partnership. They efficiently resolve product challenges and preemptively provide recommendations to augment products.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a product manager. Our company sells products to supply data to various products such as vending machines, backup routers, and GPS devices.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We have developers who support our application. However, we didn’t have developers on our team who specialized in mobile development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
HyperSense provides a mobile development team. During our first project, they reviewed an app that a different consultant created for us. Their team fixed it, making it functional. They essentially built a GPS-based app that could send the location of a device every so often. The platform's primary function was to persistently gather and send the device’s location to our main platforms. The mobile app essentially functions as a standard GPS device. It’s available for Android and iOS devices.
We later started another project with them. Their team’s building an entire app from the ground up. We’re finishing the design phase now. In addition to mobile development work, they’re helping us with the redesign of our main platform.
What is the team composition?
I typically interact with five people from HyperSense. Our main contact’s Andrei (CTO and COO) but I also communicate with a couple of developers and a chief designer.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
We originally found them by searching online. One of the reasons we selected HyperSense was that their team had done similar work. We discussed their capabilities, and they seemed to know what they were doing.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent more than $100,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
We initially contacted them around March 2019, and the partnership’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re still working with HyperSense because we’re always satisfied with their work. With our previous partner, we had to tell them every single thing to do. HyperSense is more proactive such as researching tools for us. If they find that there’s an issue with the apps, they go ahead and fix them without any request from us.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team’s always on schedule with deliverables. We haven’t had problems with their timeliness, and they have plenty of resources to fit our needs. As we’ve grown to have multiple projects with them, our partnership has continued to go well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Unlike our previous provider, HyperSense proactively ensures the app’s working as expected. We implement new technologies based on their suggestions. Rather than telling them exactly what to do, we seek their suggestions because they’re the mobile experts.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they’ve been a good partner. There will always be scheduling challenges because they’re in Romania, and we’re in the US.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
As with anything else, provide clear requirements. They’ll build whatever you need based on your requirements.

HyperSense Software developed a mobile app for a Dutch financial services company, aiming to provide a customer-facing self-service solution to alleviate the customer service from frequent calls.
The final app successfully took work off customer service staff and appeals to users. The team's industry experience with mobile app development was clearly visible through their problem-solving capabilities. They hit all deadlines and regularly over-delivered on tasks.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the head of technology. We provide financial services, specifically consumer credit in the Dutch market. We are one of the larger players in this space.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We wanted to have an app to give our customers seamless integration with all our products. Our goal was to make our system more self-service-oriented, rather than reliant on a call center. We also wanted to give them new products and new insight through the app. We didn’t have an app, so we called HyperSense.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we set out to do an MVP and the app that we needed. We asked them to build an app for Android and iOS, and they were able to build an MVP for us in two months. We are now in the third or fourth iteration on that. For every iteration, they have delivered new functionality for our customers.
We have 70%–80% of the functionality and the designs ready. They helped us balance direction for coding and user flows. We had a start, but they helped us take the project further.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two or three developers.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
We found them with a reference within our network. They had done some work for some companies that we knew and when the time came, we decided to call them. We looked at how we could work together, and it was quite flexible and easy.
They are agile, they work in sprints, and they are really keen on delivering on those sprints, so we decided to build an MVP. It worked out so well, so we decided to keep them on.
How much have you invested in them?
It will be around $80,000–$100,000 for this year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in February 2020 and are still working with them.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We look at the customer feedback for the MVP as well as the app's rating, which are all quite good. The ratings and download numbers are strong. Our customer service staff are also relieved because customers are able to self-service.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
They are quite experienced in building apps. We discussed what we wanted and set timelines. They helped us scope out what could be done and delivered to our expectations. From time to time, they overdeliver. They have done really well with planning and optimization.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their app expertise is the most impressive. We had some development experience but couldn't build an app from scratch. They are really good at defining possibilities for the build, and that really sets them apart.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They are really modest and sometimes conservative. It’s a minor detail, but they could be more aggressive and take a little more risk.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Take them along in your journey. Tell them your goals and discuss how to achieve them. Let them think along with you, and you will get the best value out of the engagement.

Using provided designs, HyperSense Software built a mobile dating app for iOS devices. They’re currently working on updates based on user feedback, and they’ll develop the Android version soon.
HyperSense Software delivered a high-quality product, and they’ve been very receptive to feedback. They’re a team of timely and organized individuals, managing a very smooth and productive workflow. The positive experience has set the foundation for a lasting partnership.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of DayDate; it’s a startup for a dating app with a unique concept. My four associates and I founded the company about two years ago.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We needed a vendor to develop our application.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’d worked with another company to create the app’s design, so we shared that with HyperSense Software, along with our specifications. They built an iOS version using Swift technology and programmed the administrative management dashboard with Node.js and Angular.js. Their team also implemented features for in-app notifications, chats, profile management, and complex animations and screen transitions. They’re currently providing maintenance and support, but we plan to develop the Android application as soon as possible.
What is the team composition?
Andrei (COO, HyperSense Software) was the project manager and my main point of contact. We’ve also worked with a frontend developer, a dashboard developer, and another resource. There are about four people in total.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
We’re based in Paris, and we were initially looking to work with a local company. We partnered with a vendor in our region, but it wasn’t a good experience and transitioning to another company was going to be expensive. My brother works in Romania and did some research on the development market in his area. He came across HyperSense Software, and we reached out to them. We had a phone call to discuss their past experience and their proposed estimates for the project to see if they’d be a good fit. Based on that, we were confident that they were the right choice.
How much have you invested with them?
We paid $35,000 for the first iteration of the app, but we continue to pay them for maintenance and additional updates. In total, we’ve spent $50,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in April 2018, and the project is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In terms of quality, I have no complaints. Users have provided constructive feedback on the functionalities themselves and, we're working with HyperSense Software to implement those quickly. Once we finish that, I expect the platform to perform better on the market.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m very satisfied with their work. HyperSense Software is responsive and proactive. In addition to completing all of their work on time, they quickly provide price and schedule estimates for each of our requests. We use Redmine to track our progress, and it’s been very smooth and efficient. They follow up on every task. I usually have one-on-one calls with Andrei on Skype, but other team members will join when necessary.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Overall, they’re a great development option for people in our region. They deliver high-quality work for a considerably lower cost than most Paris-based vendors.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.
Any advice for potential customers?
I don’t have any advice, aside from recommending them to other customers.

We needed help with software development. I was trying to create a minimum viable product (MVP) for a web application.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They’re building a fully functional web application using Angular, Node.js, Express, and HTML. We worked together on the software architecture and the UX and then applied all the brand elements I’d previously created. They're also providing a backend dashboard where I can manage users.
What is the team composition?

How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent $18,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since September 2017.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They fix bugs easily because of their deep understanding of everything they build. Although they were somewhat limited while replicating certain user stories, they know the technology they work with well.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m quite pleased. Their communication is excellent, and they’re responsive any time of day, any day of the week. They’re transparent and good with project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a diverse portfolio and strong knowledge of different markets, technologies, and functionalities. If they aren’t familiar with a particular industry, they’ll do their best to learn about it and understand the users they’re building the application for. On top of everything, they always make sure our app is working correctly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They would benefit from explaining the UX to the client in a more visual, practical way. This will make the end development result clearer and more impactful.

The project is a social network called Society and HyperSense is developing the web and mobile application. Society isn’t about likes, retweets, or mindless scrolling. It emphasizes the importance of in-person interaction and encourages users to engage in social activities without being invasive. HyperSense developed a functionality that enables the app to track how users interact with it and assign personality labels. Before development, they researched human personality traits to create a functioning social ecosystem. They also built a feature that allows users to create five-second videos with up to three people. Another significant feature facilitates face-to-face interaction by allowing users to post location-based invites to social gatherings.
We released the alpha version for iOS and are currently redesigning it. I drew the initial wireframes that they reworked into a more professional product. There were several iterations before we reached a consensus and could move forward with the UI.
What is the team composition?
Andrei (COO, HyperSense Software) is my primary point of contact. A total of 10–12 people have worked on this project.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
I used Clutch to search for companies around the world. HyperSense inspired a sense of trust that I didn’t feel with other companies. They were hungry to work on the project and followed up with me several times before I made the final decision. I met with them in-person and we quickly developed a good rapport. The relationship grew from there.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent over $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2016 and the engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m satisfied with what they built.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We have team meetings in-person. They’re trying to streamline their process of communication, especially for clients like myself who aren’t always available to meet face-to-face. They’re responsive and easy to reach. Andrei is always available and we’ve developed a pleasant business relationship.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m happy with what’s been done so far and I can’t wait to move things forward. They delivered the agreed upon scope, unlike the previous company I worked with. The price is good and so is their ability to execute.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director and the co-founder of a supply chain management firm. Our supply chain provides sophisticated, real-time business process management. We specialize in IT logistic services.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We supplement our development headquarters in Hungary with outsourced providers. Our team had formulated a specific concept for an add-on module to improve existing software. Since we lacked the necessary resources in-house to build this deliverable, we contracted HyperSense Software.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our products accelerate onsite throughput for major industrial enterprises. They also increase inbound and outbound traffic. HyperSense Software thoughtfully considered our requirements, including non-functional demands. They developed the app using Node.js.
The build took three months and included several rounds of an agile development process. Our ongoing collaboration focuses on enhancing our site and releasing new products and add-ons. We recently completed a new iteration for one of these modules.
What is the team composition?
We interacted with HyperSense Software’s CEO, two dedicated project managers, and a team of 10-12 developers.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
We considered three potential suppliers. My close friend recommended HyperSense Software. We chose them based on responsiveness, success with prior clients, and JavaScript programming expertise.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $25,000-$50,000 on their services so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2017 and our engagement is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m very satisfied with their work. They have an expansive range of technology skills. During our initial discussions, we collaboratively formulated the process landscape framework. HyperSense Software adapted their work to those specifications.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
HyperSense Software is responsive and works effectively. They take an agile approach to the whole project, including ad hoc communication. We had misunderstandings about 2-3 software glitches, but they quickly resolved those minor problems.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team brought innovative ideas to our discussions about the module’s functional and non-functional demands. Their fresh perspective improved our customer service and internal processes.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Recently, we’ve been considering using more sophisticated communication tools like professional video conferencing. We currently use Skype, but would prefer a more sophisticated system.

HyperSense developed and implemented a digital rights management module for a game store and later assisted with tweaks. They currently maintain it. This led to collaboration on future projects.
With strong capabilities and smooth execution, HyperSense reliably delivered complete satisfaction. With solid communications, they finished the project on time, despite a tight timeline. They impressed with their expertise in Amazon Web Services and quickly became a trusted partner.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the technical director of a mobile gaming startup. We create and distribute games.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We were creating our store, and we needed someone to build a digital rights management module as a component of our store. This component protects our games from unauthorized copying and distribution.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Starting from the requirements that we gave them, HyperSense Software built our module for us. We gave them full freedom to develop it within the boundaries of the requirements. They deployed it and currently maintain it.
At a later date, when we started receiving traffic on our module, they assisted with some tweaks that we had to do, which is normal. When we had to tweak the generation of our secured Android Package Kits (APKs), they were a natural part of that process because it was a time-consuming and research-intensive process.
They earned our trust through their work on the first project, so we collaborated on a lot of other projects after that.
What is the team composition?
The main contact person is the COO who acts as a project manager and as a software development team member. Another developer built the system.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
One of my project managers found them. We met in person since both parties are in Romania.
How much have you invested with them?
The first project was $5,000, and we’ve had several projects after that.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together on this project from October–November 2016.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything was very smooth. The design was very sophisticated. They satisfied our business needs and technical guidelines.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
We had a tight deadline and they delivered on time. Everything was 100% smooth including the communication. They’re always available.
They’re always ready to offer a solution. We send a lot of issues and different technical topics that aren’t necessarily related. They maintain a positive approach and come up with solutions, which is an added value for us.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have strong experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), which is great for us because our organization uses AWS as a cloud platform. Most of our products are cloud-driven.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They have a limited number of developers, so we didn’t send too many projects or requests at the same time because we thought they wouldn’t be able to handle them all.

HyperSense Software designed and developed a mobile app for fitness enthusiasts that includes scoring and events functionalities. The team continues to update and maintain the solution.
A highlight of the engagement is the clear communication with HyperSense’s team. They take full responsibility for problems and offer proactive solution. They even worked over the weekend to fix issues in the Android version of the app.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the development manager of CrossLife. It’s a software network with features and tools dedicated to CrossFit, including events and scoring. I handle the technical and software part while my brother handles the sports part. The app is complex, with many features and details. It is free, so my revenue comes from advertising.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
Since we didn’t have any in-house developers, we needed someone to build an app for both iOS and Android. We wanted to provide a good product to the market, and I needed to get things done on time.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
HyperSense did the design and development of the app from the beginning to the end. They are dedicated more to game applications, so their main challenge was to develop this kind of technical application. They also made a presentation website. We've worked with 4 guys from HyperSense, not including the boss.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
I found HyperSense on Google. I was looking for a Romanian company and found Clutch in the process. I checked 3–4 companies and saw that HyperSense had a lot of positive reviews. I felt good when I spoke with HyperSense. They provided me with a lot of details when I reached out to them. I hadn’t seen any work that they had done similar to our app, but I hired them because they were very transparent with everything.
How much have you invested with HyperSense Software?
We've spent $30,000 on the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2016, and the apps went live in June 2017. I’m still working with them because I have updates I want to make.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The app has been live in both stores for 1 week. I was very picky with the job, and they made the app according to my wishes. We’ve had a few bugs, but the final product looks professional. I’ve had good reviews from users, who have said that the design is user-friendly. The project was a good deal based on the price I paid.
There are still things I want to improve. For example, I noticed we were having some disconnection problems from the server on Android when we launched the app. I contacted our project manager, and he didn’t hide from the issue. They faced up to their responsibilities and worked over the weekend to fix it. I told him it was important to me because I have partners and investors, and he understood that.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
They are very good. The project manager, Andre, is always on time. He provides me with a lot of information and advice on the advertising part. They’re a good team with really good workers.
Our communication with HyperSense has been perfect, and they have been really transparent. They’ve been good at meeting according to my timeframe. They’ve understood the time delay.
What did you find most impressive about HyperSense Software?
My family went to visit them for 3 days. They received us very well. The whole team was very happy to see me, and they’ve been very kind to us. Andre helped me during my visit. We even spoke about some personal topics. It was good for me to see them since it made the engagement more personal.
Are there any areas HyperSense Software could improve?
I can’t think of anything to improve.

HyperSense Software performs in an advisory and development capacity for a SaaS startup. The provide both mobile app and web development work and optimize technologies used for specific needs.
HyperSense Software has a response time of a matter of hours when it comes to fixing bugs, and they work around the clock when needed. The team builds a trusting collaboration and often delivers before deadline. Even after delivering a product, they ensure its successful implementation.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
DealMatrix is a recently born startup that is about a year old. It’s focused on the software as a service industry. We’re building SaaS platforms for investment management for both investors and corporate ventures.
I’m one of the co-founders and the COO of the company. Being a young startup, you can imagine that it includes a lot of areas. I was the one in charge of handling the relationship with HyperSense.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with HyperSense Software?
We are based in Vienna, Austria. We had an issue with the hourly cost of developers because in Austria the average is €90 an hour for development. I’m originally born in Romania, so we were trying to figure out the best country to find developers, and we picked Romania for that. After going through a couple of companies, HyperSense Software fit the best when it came to their background, their dynamic, and their way of working.
As opposed to other companies, HyperSense Software was very open from the beginning. They stated what they could and could not do as opposed to other past experiences. I liked their honesty very much. We were very interested in their experience on the app development side, which was the main project that we did with them.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
It was great from the beginning. HyperSense Software offered a lot of consulting on the product that we wanted to build, both on the app and on the web development side. We built a version of our app from scratch which is used for pitch events for investors or members. They're very fast, they can deliver rapid development which is very stressful, and they manage that very well for a software company. They helped us build from the beginning. They also helped us come up with some input based on their experience in the app and in this market.
From an IT point of view, they also have optimized and figured out what technologies are best suited for those specific features that we needed. Two or three months ago we also worked with them a lot on the UX [user experience] and UI [user interface]. They did a lot on the graphic side that made the UI more focused. The current app, everything from a design point of view, and so on, comes from them. We’re very happy.
We’ve received very good market feedback. It’s native Android and native iOS which also is supplemented in a web portal so we can install it from a distance.
How did you come to work with HyperSense Software?
It was a bit tedious. I went online and started searching for development companies in Romania. I scheduled a bunch of calls with all of these people. I talked to Andrei [COO, HyperSense Software] in the call and explained what we want to do. That seemed fine. The first time I was back home I had a meeting that was supposed to be a 1–2-hour meeting. The meeting went so well from the beginning, and their input was so good that the meeting turned into a project description. We started to work on the second day or third day afterward.
How much have you invested with HyperSense Software?
It was $55 an hour. I don’t have the entire value. It’s still ongoing. It’ll be done at the end of the year.
What is the status of this engagement?
The relationship is ongoing. In the future, the app is going to stay in maintenance with HyperSense Software, as far as I can see. I don’t know what’s going to happen far along because we’re a startup, so we’re expanding staff right now. It depends on how big we get, how much resources they can provide, and If they can grow at the same time when it comes to HR resources. But as I see it for the next 18 months, they’ll be with us on that.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Thea app is not a general market app. It’s only downloaded for the event. The event organizers are pushing the app to be downloaded by the attendees, and then they wipe it out and reinstall it when there’s a new event. From that point of view, it’s a bit unusual behavior for an app in the store. We wanted to have it in the store for ease of access and downloads as opposed to enterprise deployment.
HyperSense Software's response time is in a matter of hours when it comes to bug fixing. If it’s during an event even if it’s very late hours and they’re off work, HyperSense Software is always there. At least one person is answering the phone and emails. Maximum one hour after an urgent situation happened, we get a response, a solution, and we reload the monitor. From the response point of view, they’re amazing. I wasn’t expecting that to be honest. They went the extra mile at least when it comes to us. I’m very happy with them. I have nothing negative to say.
How did HyperSense Software perform from a project management standpoint?
Everything went well. Andrei was the one in charge of their internal project management. When it comes to the IT part of project management, we used our tool for that which is JIRA. I think that’s a standard for this kind of thing. Everything went perfectly because he had access to that environment. Everything got put in place, and they were responding to issues automatically. We didn’t have to take any more calls to do the description and explanation.
If we have an issue or a feature request we put them in JIRA, they pick it up from there, and we go forward from that. Everything is fine from all I can figure. Everything got delivered on deadline and sometimes even faster. The only thing that I would have to say with them, and it’s not their fault, is that like any new startup in a new niche we had a bit of lack of communication in the beginning. This miscommunication went on until they understood what exactly the format was going to be. It was also our fault because we’re also in the initial stage as any startup. We sold a lot and didn’t have anything to show for the sales, so we had to rush things a bit at one point. That created a bit of stress for them, but they handled it very well.
What did you find most impressive about HyperSense Software?
HyperSense Software makes sure that the project is implemented even after they deliver. I always got calls two or three weeks after a project was done to make sure everything was fine. They are always willing to go the extra mile and do more work to make sure the quality is there. The one thing we liked is they never tried to increase hours. Every time I asked them how much it would take and I gave them my estimation or my CTO’s estimation on that; they always tried to say they could do it faster and not increasing rate.
Are there any areas HyperSense Software could improve?
Maybe a bit more communication would be nice when it comes to the actual code that we’re developing, but then again, I understand the situation. The management style is different. I’m a hands-on guy. I like to talk with everybody on the team continuously. But with HyperSense Software I wasn’t involved that much with the developers. It’s a difference in attitude. It’s a difference in what I was expecting. It was a decision from Andrei that it would be best if I allowed him to do the internal project management for his people and only interact with them if something is urgent or needed from my side. That would’ve been my preference, but I don’t think it would’ve impacted the result in any way in the end.
