the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CIO for a home improvement company; we sell roofing, siding, windows, gutters, and gutter protection services to homeowners in the US.
What challenge were you trying to address with Grey Chain?
We had faced delays with our mobile application while working with another service provider, so we engaged Grey Chain to build a functional sales enablement app. Our goal was to create a customized tool that provided our users with a consistent customer experience.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Grey Chain has supported us with mobile app development and UX/UI design initiatives. They started by conducting workshops and interviews with our team to gather the requirements. We also provided them with marketing materials to support the design process, including color schemes and logos.
Once they learned about our industry and business vernacular, they designed and built a new mobile application from scratch. They were responsible for creating designs, names, and icons for the new app. Since our existing app was built for iOS, the team also made the new version for iOS. We haven’t published it to the app store because it's proprietary.
The new version of our app is called HIRO, which stands for home improvement renovation options. Grey Chain built a CMS that organizes our product and pricing catalogs by market branch on the back end. They also embedded the app with all the capabilities a sales executive needs to sell a customer. The app holds measurements, product pricing, customer financing options, discounting functionality, and e-signature functionality. It also accommodates credit card payments for customers who want to submit deposits directly through the app.
Furthermore, Grey Chain integrated the app with APIs, which means that confirmed leads can reach our sales executives directly through the app. Our sales executives can access appointments and customer information via turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, the app stores information from our call center regarding which products potential customers are interested in. They also embedded product presentations and videos within the app to provide potential customers with a consistent end-to-end flow.
Our sales executives used to bring boxes of product samples and literature to appointments, but the team digitized those resources and embedded them into the app. Furthermore, the app also features a leaderboard that enables sales executives to judge their performance against their peers. They can also use the filter views to review the past month or 90 days.
Now that we’ve launched the new version of the app, Grey Chain has been working on expanding the functionality. For example, we recently launched a bath and interior division, so they’ve scheduled a work stream to add those capabilities.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with 15 people from Grey Chain: four iOS teammates, four architecture and backend teammates, one dedicated testing resource, one design resource, three project management resources, and a PowerBI resource for reporting.
How did you come to work with Grey Chain?
We found them through a referral.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested roughly $300,000 in the partnership.
What is the status of this engagement?
They won partner of the year for their work in 2022 and early 2023. 5⭐️ experience!!
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Grey Chain has significantly improved our mobile app's UX/UI design and flow. Our previous app lacked API capabilities, so it didn’t function how we needed it to. For example, when customers wanted to submit payments, they had to call our office, provide their credit card information, and wait for us to enter it into a system. Now, we can accommodate payments via the app, making the process seamless and clean.
Furthermore, the app has seen an outstanding internal adoption rate, facilitating 13 months of record sales performance and growth. Grey Chain’s efforts have entirely transformed our sales process without skipping a beat, which is a huge testament to them.
How did Grey Chain perform from a project management standpoint?
Grey Chain has been an outstanding partner throughout the development process, and we’ve built a phenomenal relationship. Although the team is offshore, they’re just a phone call away. They’ve gone above and beyond to support critical business disruptions, which we appreciate.
During the development phase, they organized work sprints around the UI and API layer. We used Excel and Jira to manage development tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Grey Chain has talented designers with robust industry knowledge. Working with them has been easy, and I’ve been most impressed by their flexibility and warmth. They’ve solidified themselves as a top partner, and we plan to continue working together.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I’m 100% satisfied.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
What are you waiting for, have a discusson!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the project lead for a small business out of Melbourne, Australia which delivers mechanical investment systems for private investors.
For what projects/services did your company hire Grey Chain Technology, and what were your goals?
We engaged Grey Chain for a new mobile app as our current iteration failed multiple business metrics. It was clunky, difficult to update, used a 3rd party platform with lots of custom code to work around the limitations etc. Our new app was to be built with modern best practice, as there was a significant amount of time between the 2 apps development. The new solution was to also introduce new functionality which we were not willing to expand the existing offering to cater for.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We googled for top development firms in certain countries across the world were we had a favourable exchange rate and then sent through a project outline, to understand their interest. Grey Chain presented us with a modern solution, a design refresh and pitched ideas at a competitive price with a can do attitude. Their focus on ensuring our product would be supported and open to change if we saw something did not work the way we envisioned with the new features.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The scope of our work was flexible as we did not really have a firm idea of what is possible in the mobile space and it was a ground up refresh of the product. We looked for iOS and Android support that would also engage a cloud database. It would also be open to data pushes from an instance of our product hosted in an AWS EC2 environment.
This meant APIs had to be built to accommodate the data flows. Other requests were flexible push notifications, user accounts, permissions of app functionality based on account permissions, biometric login support and app usage analytics from our existing customers. The apps extended functionality would include a portfolio manager so financial formulas had to be established in the app and refined to standard across numerous possible interactions related to stock market investing.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We knew of 4 resources (although more worked on the product behind the scenes) including accounts, project manager, technological architect and developers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Not available at this time as the app launched a week ago.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We used trello & an instant messaging application that our business requested (Skype) to be able to understand the workflow and progression of the app. They were extremely responsive with realistic timelines, including when deliverables would be delayed and how long due to external causes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They had a really solid grasp on the fundamentals of modern app architecture and other systems. Confidently discuss the pros and cons of different approaches and reply in a confident, quick timeframe to ensure that the project followed best practice. We could never fault them on this.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
This is a minor issue to us. Sometimes when we mentioned bug fixes, other areas would be broken in the process requiring some repeated devt to fix. We have a very niche, complex product within a niche, so the level of product knowledge and understand of interactions never really developed. Grey Chain keeping a log or document of business rules for developers / internal testers may have helped made their quality of work flawless.

iOS App Dev for UNICEF
"They went well above and beyond with their commitment to us and our project."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a product manager at UNICEF.
What challenge were you trying to address with Grey Chain Technology?
They built the iOS version of an existing gamified period tracker app we designed for adolescent girls. It has a prediction engine and a tracker, as well as information on menstruation for girls. There’s also a symptom tracker, daily diary, and more. The app was designed for very high security and privacy as well. We already had an Android version and needed it ported to iOS.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We built an Android app last year. It was built by a different vendor in React Native with TypeScript. Grey Chain Technology came on and took the original Android code and build an iOS version using the existing codebase. All the UX/UI was already complete, they just translated it to iOS. The challenge was translating that UX correctly.
What is the team composition?
We had a main point of contact, but we had calls with their development team as well.
How did you come to work with Grey Chain Technology?
They were already working with our UNICEF colleagues on a different app. We liked that they were verified by UNICEF already and financially competitive.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked from November 2020 to March 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We don’t measure success by downloads. We value success in that the app matches the UX of the original version and is free of bugs. They accomplished that.
How did Grey Chain Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re great. We had a Skype and Slack channel. They’re very responsive. They always kept me up to date on when we have versions to test.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We have quite a few tech vendors, but Grey Chain Technology stands out with its customer service. They always wanted to improve themselves and their work. They went well above and beyond with their commitment to us and our project.
They also offer a 90-day support period, which is very unique in the industry. We really appreciate that, because although we haven’t encountered issues yet, we know they’re there if we need them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they did everything we ask for.

We were looking for e learning solutions for our online classes for national and international students and decided to finally get an app developed for mobile as well as a website for e learning.
What were your goals for this project?
To get an easy to operate simple and smooth functioning app to facilitate distance learning.
How did you select Grey Chain Technology?
Searching and researching over the internet and then personal interaction with the team
Describe the project in detail.
After a lot of research and deliberation I chose Grey Chain technologies as app developers for developing distance learning app for my Institution. I was very apprehensive in the beginning as being a doctor I had minimum technical knowledge related to this .However,in my first interaction only with the team my fears were allayed . It was a smooth ride thereafter
What was the team composition?
There were five members of the team with whom we interacted although I understand there were many more behind the scenes.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Currently the app is working fine and smooth and has remarkably eased out our work
What did you find most impressive about this company?

Mobile App Dev & Translation Services for Humanitarian Org
"Their sense of customer service had been really impressive."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a gender-based violence and emergencies specialist for a nonprofit that is dedicated to advancing women’s and children’s rights portfolio. I work specifically in relation to humanitarian response.
What challenge were you trying to address with Grey Chain Technology?
We had recently developed some guidance for working in very intense situations, either conflicted-affected settings or at international natural disasters. That guidance was related to dealing with disclosure of gender-based violence and in many cases, referral services weren’t available to help a person. It was initially in written form, but we asked Grey Chain Technology to integrate it into a mobile phone application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Essentially, the scope of work was to take the content that had already been developed and put it into a mobile phone application. What we were looking for there was having it as accessible as possible, and as immediate as possible. That’s why one of the features that we really needed was for it to be available online and offline, so even if a person doesn't have WiFi or mobile network, they could still access the app.
Once an end-user downloads it, there would be a few different menu options, and people could review the content of our booklet. There was another option with a help button that took end-users through a decision tree for ways to respond in the most appropriate manner.
It was initially launched in English, but then it got such huge demand around COVID-19. As a result, we recently released up to eight languages now. They’ve been doing additional individual languages and it’s still ongoing.
What is the team composition?
I mainly interacted with Grey Chain Technology’s owner or director. Then, at different points, he assigned different colleagues to work on the project. In total, I collaborated with around five people, including a project manager.
How did you come to work with Grey Chain Technology?
In the beginning, we got hooked up with the great team. They had done some work for an internal rescue committee previously and they were quite happy with the team’s work.
Then, we had some initial conversations about what we were looking for. Grey Chain Technology came back to us with what they thought they could do with some different options. We selected the one that felt like it was going to work best.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement ran from May 2018–September 2020. The newer language versions started in April 2020 and they really worked fast on those. We released the first four in September.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our experience had been incredibly positive and end-users liked the app because it was easy to use. The app was functional even without a great connection. Colleagues were always excited and grateful to have the resource any time we introduce it to them.
The demand for additional languages also speaks to their work, and we do have some analytics about it. As we were going through the process of having the new language versions produced as well, they help us developed some more sophisticated analytics, but that was a piece I haven’t been as directly involved in.
How did Grey Chain Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
Once we had agreed on the terms of the collaboration and what the deliverables would be, we regularly kept in touch via phone and mail. They were incredibly efficient and I couldn’t think of a time where they didn’t deliver on time. The vast majority of their work had been delivered earlier than they promised.
They were just great to work with and the team was very thoughtful. Grey Chain Technology was proactive with communication and I just loved working with them.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Even though it was clear that they had a lot on their plate all the time, they made us feel like we were a top priority client. They were always been available for last-minute calls even though the time difference was significant. We really appreciated that they kept in touch even in the middle of the night and they never made us feel we were inconveniencing them. Overall, their sense of customer service had been really impressive.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Honestly, I don’t have anything that comes to mind in that regard. Perhaps, it may be because I wasn’t quite hands-on with all of the project’s steps to have observed that. I really can’t come up with anything that I will ask them to do differently.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Return the level of commitment they have with feedback, turnaround times, and more. They will definitely keep the project on track, so if you uphold your side, you’re going to come out the way that you’ve agreed.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a child protection officer at UNICEF Cambodia. We have different programs to support children, including child protection emergency response.
We work to promote the healthy development of children, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential from early childhood to adolescence.
What challenge were you trying to address with Grey Chain Technology?
The coronavirus pandemic has been a challenge for the mental health of both children and their parents.
Since we couldn’t meet in person to offer support, we adapted our program to Facebook and Telegram groups. We also developed a mobile application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Grey Chain Technology developed the local version of an Android and iOS app that provides key information on gender-based violence (GBV) to our frontline workers. There was an existing English version of the app, which we translated to the Khmer language.
What is the team composition?
I had one main point of contact that coordinated the rest of the team.
How did you come to work with Grey Chain Technology?
They’d worked with a branch of our organization from another country.
How much have you invested with them?
The project cost was around $2,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Grey Chain Technology between November–December 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Khmer is a complicated language to work with, and the reason we went through multiple iterations. The specific Unicode is very difficult to implement on iOS. Grey Chain Technology was very supportive during this process.
We tested the app with many people in our team, and we found that it’s good in terms of translation quality.
How did Grey Chain Technology perform from a project management standpoint?
Email was the main communication method, and we also had Zoom and Skype calls to explain things in more detail.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Even when there was a lack of support from our side, their team quickly addressed any challenges we had.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, they were very good.

Please describe your company and your position there.
International Rescue Committee is a relief organization. We work in humanitarian settings and post-conflict zones doing a number of services that range from water, health, sanitation, livelihood, education, and child protection.
The sector I work in is violence prevention and response. I’m the information management and technology officer. I support our projects that ensure programming staff has the right tools and technologies.
For what projects/services did your company hire Grey Chain Technology?
The ROSA (Remote-Offered Skill Building) Application accommodates caseworkers and community focal points working on mobile programming teams by providing key content on gender-based violence knowledge, case management, communication, and attitude skills, offering skills assessments, and creating a community space for users to expand their learning.
The requirement for this redesign was to develop a revamped version of the iOS and Android app for enhanced user experience based on the feedback gathered in end-user workshops.
What were your goals for this project?
The goal of this project was to make the app more user friendly for mobile staff in low-resource settings and to promote uptake. We also took this opportunity to create a more intuitive, modern aesthetic for the design of the app.
How did you select Grey Chain Technology?
My team worked with Grey Chain Technology on the original design and development of ROSA. Not only did they have familiarity with the product, but they had also proven themselves to be a knowledgeable and overall great partner. They were receptive and brought significant expertise that helped our ideas come to life in the redesign.
Describe the project in detail.
The ROSA (Remote-Offered Skill Building) Application accommodates caseworkers and community focal points working on mobile programming teams by providing key content on gender-based violence knowledge, case management, communication, and attitude skills, offering skills assessments, and creating a community space for users to expand their learning.
The requirement for this assignment is to develop a revamped version of the iOS and Android app for enhanced user experience based on the feedback gathered in end-user workshops.
The redesign included design upgrades, a new home page, adding content, removing elements from the original app (login, community section, and profile picture), significant app size reduction, adding an app tour, and app analytics.
What was the team composition?
Throughout the redesign, there were five main people on the team that we communicated with. Having on focal point for the project made communication easy and smooth.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are very happy with ROSA 2.0. The app has recently gone live in the Google Play and Apple App stores, and I already have colleagues looking to implement the app into their programming. Additionally, we have already contracted Grey Chain Technology to add additional language content to the app in order to expand the reach to more countries.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow between our teams was very effective. Setting up a team space for quick updates and questions made the process smooth and created opportunities to address challenges as they came up. Grey Chain Technology was transparent in its timeline and progress, and we received regular updates.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Grey Chain Technology's communication was incredible. Despite being in significantly different time zones than us, they were still able to meet for regular discussions (especially at the beginning of the project) and their response time is unmatched. They were flexible when we faced delays on our end, and they were willing to listen to our needs and wants with 2.0 and make it a reality.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The time zones are a challenge, but Grey Chain Technology made it work for us!

We have been looking for a company to build our restaurant app in IOS native.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to get finished project in defined timeline and working with clear written codes.
How did you select this vendor?
We had contacts to lots of companies. The problem was: all companies are talking about their selves very good and trying to sound professional. All companies are representing a lot of references. But any of them tried to understand our project. Grey Chain took time to understand the project BEFORE we start to collaborate on our project with Grey Chain.
Describe the project in detail.
We are conducting online market place. We needed an app for our Sellers wich they are using as dashboard with all funktions. We had some complex functions in this app like Ringing, Notifications, Statistic, Support, Printing etc.
What was the team composition?
One developer and one senior developer was engaged in our project.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within defined time, Grey Chain finished the project. That was amazing. We also worked with other companies. Any other company was able to finish their tasks within the defined time. At this point we want to congratulate Gray Chain again.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had very good communication. They were open to use and they worked with principals like Germans. That made very easy to work with Grey Chain.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We have worked previously with big companies which you can find on clutch first. But GreyChain is the company if you are looking to find a BUSINESS PARTNER. You can build with this guys long-term business relationship. And even after our project was finished, they can respond very fast to our questions and for any support inquiry they are ready to help anytime.
Are there any areas for improvement?
If you are looking for SOLUTIONS, Grey Chain will be the right company.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
International Rescue Committee is a relief organization. We work in humanitarian settings and post-conflict zones doing a number of services that range from water, health, sanitation, livelihood, education, and child protection. The sector I work in is violence prevention and response. I’m the information management specialist; I make sure our programming staff has the right tools and technologies to understand what’s going on in their programs.
What challenge were you trying to address with GreyChain Technologies?
More and more of the people we’re working with are not in static refugee camps. They’re moving between locations or they’re frequently displaced. That also means our staff moves around a lot. Our staff is not located in traditional offices. They drive to different locations, or they’re at the health center one day and the women’s space another day. We wanted to provide a way for them to have the coaching and community space that they would have in a static office but through a mobile application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
From the start, I presented to them a problem statement and user stories. GreyChain took that and started working. Throughout the whole process, they’ve not only taken what I identified as problems and found solutions, but they have also added on extra things that I didn’t know at the beginning that I would need. They ended up being incredibly helpful with our final product.
The app is built for iOS and Android. There are four modules of content and skill assessments so our staff can see where they’re at in terms of attitude, communication, and knowledge skills. They continue to take those assessments to see how they’ve improved over time. Their supervisors can also see those assessments or administer them.
There’s also a community function. We wanted to create something since they’re not in traditional office spaces that they could still connect with each other and ask questions or share resources. The app is available in English and French, and we’re finalizing the translation in Myanmar and Kirundi.
What is the team composition?
There have been up to 15 people that have worked on our app depending on what stage of development we’re in. I communicate with one person, which has made things a lot easier for me. At the beginning, I talked with one of the founders.
How did you come to work with GreyChain Technologies?
I put a posting on Upwork, and I included interview questions. I got 30 proposals of varying degrees. GreyChain was the only one that connected with the reason why we wanted to build the product. They responded well to the proposal and also had questions about things I hadn’t thought about. That set them apart from any other vendor I worked with. They have a heart in the process. Usually, people try to deliver a bare minimum project, but GreyChain cares a lot about what we’re doing, and they’re interested in it. It’s great in the nonprofit world to work with people who are passionate about what we do.
How much have you invested with them?
In the end, we will spend $17,000–$18,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2017, and the relationship is ongoing. We’re waiting on the Kirundi translation, but I expect the app will be done in the next couple of weeks. I’m also going to engage with them on another app we’re building.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve done a great job. The biggest testament is that we’ll be using them again. They’re a delight to work with. I’ve never worked with anyone on the tech side that has listened to us when we’re talking. We’re doing a research project around the app in the first and second quarters of 2018.
We did a soft launch in October in Jordan with people in Burundi, Iraq, and Myanmar. We had global staff there from all over Europe and the States as well. The feedback was really positive. We didn’t have to give people much training on how to use the app, which was really nice. They can look in the app, and they know intuitively what things are what. Our staff in Burundi and Myanmar aren’t as familiar with apps, so that was nice for them. It satisfied users on both ends of the spectrum, ones that are really tech-savvy and ones that probably didn’t have any apps on their smartphone at all.
How did GreyChain Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very structured about our communication and willing to take requests ad hoc. The project manager and I talked every Wednesday morning for about three months to check in and get updates. I was never wondering what was going on. Anytime we would Skype, he would respond immediately, which was great because he was in India and I’m in Seattle. They were very responsive and resolved things immediately.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their responsiveness and the way they care is impressive. They’re not just taking what I requested and doing it. They’re listening and adding suggestions as well. It’s not a matter of inflating their budget; it hasn’t inflated throughout the project.
I added an interview question on Upwork asking why the person wanted to work on the project. That provided a lot of insight as to whether people cared or they were just trying to deliver the minimum and check out. GreyChain wanted to build a bigger relationship with us, and they saw an opportunity there. They were interested in what we were doing related to gender-based violence against women. They care about that issue as well. That says something about an organization’s motivations for doing something that’s beyond getting paid.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I wish they were in a different time zone so I didn’t feel bad about calling them in the middle of his night. I’ve never worked with any tech vendor and the relationship has gone so well. They’re like night and day in comparison with other vendors.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
LegalNow is a startup founded officially in 2016. We primarily provide legal services, connecting lawyers and users directly within their geography. We focus on helping lawyers find the right customers and vice versa using both online and offline models. Our company numbers 8 people at the moment.
What challenge were you trying to address with GreyChain Technologies?
Currently, finding lawyers in India is difficult, and the prices are exorbitant. There’s also no way to verify existing work. GreyChain Technologies assists with the online part of our model.
I had gone through 3 developers in quick succession before finding GreyChain. I realized that smaller companies always promise to build a website or app within 1–2 months, but none could deliver the product in that time.
We were also concerned about cost. A lot of vague numbers were being thrown at me for my product, and there was no clear vision in terms of the developer operating at a higher level, recommending changes, and bringing new ideas.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The solution is a legal services marketplace in which people submit their requests and lawyers can bid on the request with a proposal and a price. Users can review the lawyers’ profiles and choose to purchase the service.
GreyChain Technologies built an IT roadmap for my product, focusing on what I should do with it next. We worked on an Android and iOS application and a website. We performed market testing for both products during phase 1 and took them down last month in order to ensure that we can focus on the next phase, which involves building new features based on user feedback. We had 10,000 users back then but decided to pause based on the company’s situation.
GreyChain started the work from scratch. I had a high-level design from the last vendor, but the code wasn’t useful, had been written poorly, and was incomplete. Instead, I wanted to use a different technology that both I and GreyChain were comfortable with. They were happy to help me out.
They recommended building native iOS and Android apps with PHP backends using RESTful APIs and web services, which they specialize in. GreyChain was instrumental in helping us connect with our digital marketing company. Using them, we were able to reach about 5,000 Facebook followers and increase our traffic.
One of the functionalities we required were notifications. If a user posts a request for a lawyer, the right resource will receive a notification. Similarly, when a lawyer posts an answer, the user will receive automated notifications. This has driven a lot of revenue and feedback for us.
Our relationship with GreyChain was mainly strategic. They built the whole piece from scratch, taking the UI and UX strategies into consideration in order to get more customers organically.
What is the team dynamic?
I primarily worked with a project manager. Apart from him, there were 2 Android and 2 PHP developers and a QA lead.
How did you come to work with GreyChain Technologies?
I met them through a friend who personally knew their founder. The pricing was exactly what I wanted. Apart from this, I liked GreyChain’s timely delivery and project management approach. They did releases every week and gave a status update every Friday via phone call and email. GreyChain basically took over the project, allowing me to focus on other parts of my offline business.
How much have you invested with them?
To date, I have spent around $27,000 on their services across a multitude of apps.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with GreyChain in October 2016. Phase 1 has been finished and delivered in full. We started phase 2 a month ago and will definitely be continuing the collaboration.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I have decommissioned the apps for the time being. We had around 12,000 users on Android and 7,000 on iOS. The website used to get around 1,000 users per day, back then.
Users liked the app and concept, but they described the UI as only average. I got in touch with GreyChain and told them that I needed to create a 6-star design, and they obliged by conducting a 2-week exercise revamping the app. This quality made me consider them again and again.
How did GreyChain Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?
They helped me deliver within the right timeframe to make my investors happy and keep them interested. This was a major concern when I started looking for developers.
GreyChain gave me the same developers I’d worked with on the first phase, and they’ve come to understand my domain. They always got back to me within an hour on any day, including weekends. Apart from this, the weekly updates and calls were amazing. I always knew the project status and any challenges since they were covered in great detail.
They used Trello for sharing the feature list. We also kept some documentation on Confluence. These were the 2 primary tools, apart from Skype for calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are affordable and great to work with. They send me regular project updates and demos without fail, and the project manager from their team was amazing. GreyChain has a unique ability to communicate well, which was something I had been missing before. When an item was wrong or delayed, the other companies didn’t mention it. GreyChain told me whenever there’d be a delay and explained the reason behind it and the new action plan. I always look for this in companies delivering services.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They need to say “no” more often to me in response to requests for certain additional features that weren't budgeted.
Grey Chain has built a well-designed app for iOS users. Their efforts have facilitated a seamless sales process for the client’s team and customers, resulting in record sales performance over the past 13 months. The team’s industry knowledge and flexibility are hallmarks of the partnership.
