Initially we asked Eleven to provide us with recommendations for improving our UX/UI, to deliver a presentation detailing all possible improvements. Next, we scoped a project to add on a "gift with purchase" feature to our checkout, for customers to be able to recieve a free gift with purchases over a set of values. The key deliverables here were improved AOV and stock reduction on discontinued lines. 

Lastly, Eleven created an interactive builder on our website, to promote our most important products. The key deliverables are to boost sales on our most popular products, as well as funnelling customers to choose our most desired products. It also makes bundling of products really easy, also with the aim of improving AOV.

• AOV was increased by 9% in the gift with purchase project. 
• Cage Builder has generated $2,000 so far, still only in early stages.

I am the Head of Ecommerce & Marketing at a business specialising in high-visibility cycling, running and any outdoor sports activity. The business was established in 2012 and has been focusing on the UK market primarily and is now ready for full global expansion.

For what projects/services did your company hire Eleven, and what were your goals?

Our business charges a premium price for a premium product that is superior to the competitions and any similar product in the market, however the brand, product imagery and therefore marketing material did not reflect this. The branding overall had no vision, no mission and no visual identity. Our goal was to identify a whole new Brand-identity, including slogan, fonts, visual identity and how we implement this across channels. We needed a new brand identity as a starting point, that we can use to springboard and grow our marketing activities in the future.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I had worked with Ben from WeAreEleven in previous roles and projects, so when this project came up at Proviz, there was no-one else we considered as Ben and his team always produce the highest quality work and outcomes.

Ben and his team interviewed me at first to gain an understanding of what the business was looking for and what the project time-lines would look like. They then interviewed both CEOs and all key stakeholders in the business to understand their perspective of the product, the values of the business and brand and what their expectations were. WeareEleven then interpreted all of these interviews into a brief, which was presented to me and signed off.

Once the brief was signed off, WeAreEleven got to work and presented 2 stellar branding options for the full rebrand to all stakeholders. We did 3 rounds of changes in total and then signed off the rebrand. As the rebrand was heavily focused on visual identity, we then organised a 2 day photoshoot with 4 models and Ben acted as Creative Director and organised the full shoot.

The shoot itself went off without a hitch and I could not have been more pleased with the shoot and the outcomes. We had very short time-lines and quick turn-arounds and WeAreEleven made these work and scaled their team to our project to hit the deadlines.

We primarily worked with Ben, the Founder, for the re-brand and photoshoot organisation. We also worked with Isabel and Marcus for the post-shoot production. The photographers used for the shoot are external to WeAreEleven, but have worked with WeAreEleven many times and are absolutely amazing!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Because of this project, we now have a cohesive brand identity that is adaptable to all marketing channels. It has enabled us to produce top-quality paid social ads, which have seen a 150% increase in CTR vs last year's ads. We have also been able to re-design our emails, which just in November produced 54% more revenue vs last year due to a 126% increase in CTR and a cohesive design journey from the emails to the website improving conversion rates!

We had weekly meetings with the team on progress, adhoc meetings for sign off requests and updates and daily emails to keep everyone aligned on progress and direction.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their understanding of the business from just a few top-level meetings at the beginning. They were able to really understand and interpret what was being said into actionable requirements and set out to work immediately. Which ultimately lead to a very successful project delivery.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I would have liked to have used Slack for quick questions, but this wasn't overly necessary when we emailed daily.

The business has a great content and studio team who have produced some brand guidelines. However, they were very focused on print including pack shots, etc. The business had no resources to produce a digital style guide, and mock-ups of our crucial content and product pages.

These were required for our development team to create a new website experience with rebrand updates and fixes to core UI issues. We also wanted to limit the impact on CVR with a new site update so we needed key UX flows in sign-up flows kept the same.

We had a recommendation from our internal developer. After reviewing the work and chatting to the team at Eleven it was an easy choice to proceed.

Eleven acted as our UI specialist and transferred the brand guidelines into a digital style guide, a mockup of over 50 pages including working design files for us by the development team. They supplied multiple iterations and were very flexible to our last-minute requests. They worked really well with our team and always delivered on time.

We collaborated with the team at Eleven through two resources internally to make sure we had a centralized feedback loop. This kept briefs easy to manage and allowed us to prioritize easily.

The website has taken a huge step forward thanks to work and designs by the team at Eleven. We now have a far more professional store whilst maintaining the friendly and family feel of the business. We are only 4 weeks post-launch but the site CVR has already started to increase and we have also seen churn reduce as a result.

The ease of collaboration and how they set out a clear project timeline and delivered it at every point of the project. By the 3rd week of the project, we had complete trust in the team and knew we had no risks in them delivering the requested information.

We hired Eleven to take on majority of our design briefs for both brand-level and portfolio campaigns across our 80+ magazine brands. We intially hired them for the Christmas period (as this is our biggest campaign), but kept the team around well after to help us with our post-Christmas campaigns.

We wanted a team that would be able to take on large amounts of work, a quick turnaround, work well with many different members of the team, and be able to follow a brief but also add their own creative flair to it.

I'm the founder of an e-commerce sofa brand. We sell sofas that come in a box.

We needed help with branding and web development.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Eleven is our one-stop shop for everything related to branding, from conception to execution. They've helped us with our brand name, look and feel, and design elements. The team has also designed our print materials.

They've also built our website, handling UI/UX design and backend development. The site has complicated functionality; our clients can custom-build their own sofa, and the Eleven team helped us determine how that could work in terms of the site and our stock.

Currently, Eleven is working on another e-commerce development project already underway. The team will continue to supply all our future web development requirements. They'll also provide content creation and paid advertising through social channels. Additionally, they'll create TV commercials for us moving forward. 

What is the team composition?

I work with Ben (Founder & Creative Director), Blossom (Junior Digital Designer), and a developer. 

How did you come to work with Eleven?

I'd worked with Ben at a previous company, so I knew how good he was and what he could offer. When I saw on LinkedIn that he'd started Eleven, I thought they would be a good place to start. We put the contract out to tender and had providers come forward and pitch their ideas. Eleven's pitch was by far the best in terms of deliverables, price, and what they brought to the table — their ideas were in line with mine.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around £40,000–£50,000 (approximately $50,000–$63,000 USD). We have them on an ongoing retainer of around £6,000 (approximately $8,000 USD) a month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around March 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We did extensive user testing on the website, and the resounding feedback is that it works. Everyone likes the site, the functionality is great, and so is the UX. That's the only metric I can put on Eleven's work at the moment because we only went live today, and our marketing efforts start tomorrow. Overall, Eleven's team is really good; they're all incredibly easy to deal with. Working with them is pretty straightforward, and everything has gone according to plan. 

How did Eleven perform from a project management standpoint?

They're fantastic in terms of dates and deliverables on various aspects of the projects. We have review stages for several mini-projects inside of the project. They send over deliverables to be reviewed, and then we move on to the next one. These smaller projects are all happening simultaneously, and they manage everything perfectly; we've had no issues whatsoever. 

We use ClickUp to manage individual tasks. The tool has different stages where tasks get assigned from the initial concept, get reviewed and amended, then go to final review to get signed off. Meanwhile, our daily communication is through Slack.

On the odd occasions when we ask for additional work, like an image or a bit of content for an email, Eleven always says yes, and they get on tasks right away — they're very efficient.  Although we had a delay with the launch, it had nothing to do with them. We changed manufacturers halfway through the process, so we had to keep making amends to the go-live date. Eleven has been very adaptable to changes, so everything's been perfect on their side. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the fact Eleven isn't a huge agency. Clients can feel lost and unimportant with many bigger agencies, and we don't get that feeling with Eleven. In fact, we feel like the team's only working on our project due to their attention to detail and availability. Bigger agencies don't seem very available, even for booking a sales call. Meanwhile, Eleven can always hop on a call with us within 10 minutes. They're always available to help us out, so we want to keep working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there's anything they need to improve; there are no complaints from our side. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My advice is to be transparent and very clear with what you want from the outset so that Eleven can bring your vision to life. If you don't like something, say it straight away. If you're transparent with them, they'll be the same with you, and you can get to a branding that you like pretty quickly.

Eleven designed and developed our website from scratch, ensuring that we had the right components to add everything we needed. Another key deliverable is a video with three clips that have been put together as a part of our digital advertising.

I’ve known Ben (Founder) for a long time. I looked at two different providers when I was looking for web developers, but Eleven put forward the best proposal; they understood the site and or product more, so I had full faith that they were invested in the idea.

Eleven delivered a sophisticated and professional-looking website that has received positive feedback from our early spectators — they say it's high-quality and creative in its design. The platform also endured a cyberattack that occurred 24 hours after we posted it online.

They’re fantastic at project management. The team is very thorough, detailed, and clear in communication regarding deadlines. In terms of tools, we use Google Drive to share images and status updates.
