We were looking for help with SEO, content marketing, and PPC. We were generating leads from the identified markets. We wanted to attract the target audience to our website and hoped they would sign up and give us their contact information so that we could get in touch with them.

They handle our SEO services and Google AdWords paid campaigns, in addition to content writing for our blogs.
They asked us to give them our marketing objectives. They engineered an elaborate marketing plan. We initially signed up for 3 months to see how it went, and it has been over a year now. We have been renewing the marketing plan on a monthly basis, and it has been going really well.

I worked with 3 people from their team including Mercy Livingstone, who is the branch manager. We also worked with Deva, who is an account manager.

We were looking at 4 different agencies for this outsourced work. The 4 agencies we were in contact with were not meeting our requirements in one form or another. I went online and searched for other agencies and found Dot Com Infoway.

We began working together in March of 2016, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When we initially contacted them, we were not looking at the online channel as lead generation at all; we were only doing events and offline marketing. Ever since we hired them, from the third or fourth month onwards, there have been 2–3 leads every month consistently for the past year. One month, we had 5 leads from their efforts.
We have always been the brain behind the marketing. We looked to them to implement what we strategized. So far, they have been really good at doing this. They usually don’t ask many questions and blindly take our instructions, then break them down into smaller deliverables over a weekly period. They have been really responsive, which has been great. If I give them a task, they complete the loop every time. They push me to test it once or twice, and they have a very thorough change request program. Whatever task we ask them to do is trackable.
How did Dot Com Infoway perform from a project management standpoint?
They are very thorough in documenting our requirements, implementing them, and coming back and telling us how it was handled, and they ask us to test it as well. We have meeting minutes, a project management tool, or an Excel sheet where we have a complete record of what they did the past year. Everything is tracked.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The scope of our engagement was extremely limited, and we haven’t tried anything else outside these brackets. There hasn’t been anything that is beyond the scope or worth mentioning here.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I would be happy if they took it up a notch when it comes to communication skills.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It would be a great engagement for a prospective customer to work with them provided they know what it is they want. If they are unsure of what they want and require Dot Com Infoway to strategize it, it won’t work out.

I founded the company in 1999 to provide researchers lower cost access to important academic monographs. What challenge were you trying to address with Dot Com Infoway?
The company we had been using was no longer available, so we needed a reliable, full-service IT company to maintain and innovate both our corporate web presence and our back-office database applications.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
When we started off, they did .NET programming for a program we had already written. They’ve been maintaining that program for the last 10 or 15 years. In the meantime, they’ve done miscellaneous work on our websites. They actually have made two of our websites mobile-enabled. They basically duplicated two of the websites so they would work on a mobile platform. They built a completely separate program to emulate the one for desktops.
They’ve worked on the frontend of our websites before too. Basically, we just call them whenever we need any kind of programming. To be honest, they have expertise in so many different areas. We’re a relatively small business, so we don’t have huge and complicated enterprise jobs. It’s pretty easy to explain the problem. As long as they have expertise in the necessary programming language, it’s not a big deal.
We have several websites, and they’re basically sites that sell the books we publish. There’s a MySQL database that’s part of it, and there’s a shopping cart. The websites don’t do anything too unusual, but they are custom-built.
How did you come to work with Dot Com Infoway?
I found them on the freelance site Guru. On that site, you can hire a different person or company every time you have a problem if you want. It’s so much easier when the company already knows your system, so we just keep going back to them.
On Guru, you post a description of the project, and then you get a lot of people or companies bidding on it. We do it a little differently because we look at portfolios of different companies to find the ones we want to entertain a bid from. Dot Com Infoway had experience in the type of work we wanted to be done, so we asked them to bid on our project, and they did.
How much have you invested with Dot Com Infoway
We’ve spent close to $50,000 so far.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have specific metrics. What they do is not a profit center like marketing, or something like that. You can’t really put a price on it.
They handle the backend of our sites, and I can say that the best quality is that they work and there aren’t any malfunctions. We were looking for a reliable website, and that’s what they’ve delivered. They’ve also come in to do things when we had hackers, to help us secure the site. That’s an important role.
How did Dot Com Infoway perform from a project management standpoint?
The communication is pretty good. I outline the project before it starts, and part of that outline always has a quality control element. I like to work with them because, although not everything works the first time, eventually everything gets fixed. Even when it’s more complicated than originally thought, or they run into a problem, the bill stays the same as the quotation. For that reason, I don’t really worry if there’s a problem along the way. I know they’ll fix it no matter how long it takes, and they stick to the estimate.
What did you find most impressive about Dot Com Infoway?
I’ve been working with them for 15 years. The most impressive thing is probably their ability to stay within the original estimate. I know that’s remarkable in any business. When vendors run into problems that take more time, they usually find a way to charge somebody else for it. I don’t know if they do this for all their clients, but for us, it’s been a big benefit. We can count on them in that way, and they seem to be honest. We basically have no reason to look elsewhere.
Are there any areas Dot Com Infoway could improve?
Sometimes projects are delayed a little. I assume it’s because they’ve got some other, more important project or somebody’s site is down. It’s really not a fault, but there have been times when our projects took longer than expected. On the other hand, when we had an emergency and something was broken, they fixed it right away. So, I assume our project may have suffered because they had an emergency with another client.

I wanted to develop a credible image for the portal and was looking for someone who could ensure that I didn’t miss any details.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I spoke to Dot Com Infoway’s business team in the beginning; they explained the process to me. I was then put in touch with the technical team, who developed an architecture for the platform. I consulted with my business partners and requested some changes, based on which DCI developed a website. The site features a payment gateway. We gave them around seven test cases, and DCI worked very well based on those.

I was referred to them by colleagues and decided to give them a chance.

We were in need of a complete website redevelopment in order to update the website design and content, and improve the user experience.
One of our biggest challenges was providing media to select clients via our website. DCI worked with us in creating a function that would allow us to create unique login credentials for an unlimited number of users for a set period of time to access our restricted media page. This has been so helpful in providing the necessary but sensitive information to our clients in a controlled manner, which ultimately leads to us acquiring more business.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our website was an older site and needed to be completely redesigned. Dot Com Infoway did a lot of revamping as well as implemented additional functions. They worked with us step by step. I created the mockups using another website platform to give DCI a vision of what we were looking for. They recreated it, only they did it better.
We had different phases for getting the website launched. I would create different mockups, show that to them, they would recreate it, and we’d go back and forth on tweaking things. By the final iteration, and we went live using WordPress. We’ve continued working with them on things that come up now that it’s live. They’re very responsive; they knew what we were looking for.
On their side, they’re working with a larger team, but we were in direct contact with 3 of their resources. They all had different roles; one was more technical and one was geared more towards customer relations.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in August 2016, and the work is ongoing. The website is live and we’re satisfied. There are some things that we put off to get the website live first, so we’re continuing to work with them.

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The site runs very smoothly. We haven’t had many problems with it. The few hiccups we experienced were very short and DCI responded very quickly. The website itself was never down.
That functionality of temporarily allowing customers to see an otherwise restricted media page is helping us gain business, because it’s an entirely new offer to our customers. We couldn’t show them anything unless our sales team was able to meet them in person and show them the videos.
DCI worked very hard to create what we had envisioned for our company's redeveloped website. Not only were they very knowledgeable and efficient in their work, but they also offered their suggestions and creative ideas time and time again throughout the process of adding numerous pages and features to our website. We were very impressed with the quality of work, customer care and meticulous attention to detail.
How did Dot Com Infoway perform from a project management standpoint?
I would send them revisions or tasks, and I needed to set deadlines for my own timeline. They were very responsive and always met those deadlines. We used Skype a lot since they’re overseas. We would also use email. They were able to meet any time that I needed, so the time difference wasn’t a problem.
What did you find most impressive about Dot Com Infoway?
I’ve done other websites before with different companies. I think DCI is more knowledgeable. Often when you’re getting a website redesigned, there’s a sales person who works with you but doesn’t know the technical aspects or how anything functions. They’re just there to be the mediator between you and their tech team. I felt like the three people we worked with at DCI were all knowledgeable.
Are there any areas Dot Com Infoway could improve?
Everything went really well. The only thing I would’ve liked to see differently is, while they were creating the mockups, it would have been nice if that was more interactive. They were standstill visuals of what the pages looked like, but you couldn’t interact with them. I wasn’t able to test out the functions until after the website went live.

Please give a brief description of your company.
JKL Technologies is a technology product startup developing SaaS [software as a service] products and mobile games. A(P)ertain, one of our SaaS products, focuses on providing mobile app/game developers an SDK [software development kit] to add in-app rating prompts and feedback prompts for a particular mobile user. Vocabul Jumble our flagship mobile game is a Word Jumble puzzle game which uses a vast database of words to provide enjoyable jumble puzzles for the player.
What is your role at the company?
I am the founder and director of the company.

What was the business challenge that you were trying to address when you approached Dot Com Infoway?
Our Vocabul Jumble game needed valid users to play and enjoy the game based on the jumble puzzles. Dot Com Infoway helped get more users via their marketing networks, which has resulted in good number of downloads from 10,000 to 70,000 downloads.
What were your company’s business goals for the project?
We wanted to increase the number of downloads within the India, U.S., Canada, and U.K. regions and the number of average active users who play the game on a regular basis.

Can you talk about the scope of the project?

What was your process for selecting Dot Com Infoway with which to work?
We did a mock promotion for one of our games, we have total five games, and we were looking to get 1,000 downloads within a short period of time. Dot Com Infoway was able to do this without a hitch.
When was the project completed?
The main project took two weeks to complete and all deadlines were met.

What were the results of the project, and are there any metrics you can share?
Our user base increased from around 10,000 to 50,000. We are still continuing the campaign and are going strong.

We are an e-commerce technology company. We don’t sell stuff online, but we provide the technology to sell. We also have an online rent payment service that allows tenants to pay their rent online. That was the first product that we launched, and it was built by Dot Com Infoway.
What is your role and responsibilities?
I’m the founder and CEO.

What was your goal for working with Dot Com Infoway?
They built the product from the ground up. We didn’t have any engineering services of our own at the time, and we had to outsource it. We looked at their portfolio showing the companies they had helped, and that helped us make the decision to give the contract to them.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their work.
They did the engineering for us, they did the Web development and design, they did the software end of it, and they also did the certification part of it. So I would put it in design, engineering, and testing, three phases.
What was your process for selecting Dot Com Infoway with which to work?
I found them through a freelance website. We ran a couple of searches about different companies. We found them, and looked at the work they did for other companies. They built e-commerce websites for other companies, so we knew they would be able to accomplish this for us.
Can you provide a ballpark dollar figure for the size of the work that they’ve done for you?
[Between] $16,000 to $20,000.
When did you start working with them?
Project started around November of 2012, and ended around February of 2013, so four months.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Do you have any feedback you can share with us from the project?
I would say it was very positive. We had some small minor changes that we had to make, which we told them to do it for us and they complied. When you build a product from the ground up, a lot of creativity is required. Overall we had a positive experience.
How well do you think Dot Com Infoway performed?
I would say very good.
Is there anything unique about them that really makes them stand out, compared to other companies?
Our project was a little more complex than typical projects for some of the companies that we spoke to. We send companies a basic guideline of the projects you want to build, and they send back a feedback saying whether they can accomplish it. With Dot Com Infoway, they basically said they could do it, so that itself is a positive sign. Their strength is their engineering team and how they worked together. We had some challenges along the way, and they were able to overcome them.
Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?
Time management on both ends could have been better.
