CATP - App Development

CATP is used to test the coverage area of any network over Google map. It has a web admin integrated with the app. The web Admin creates projects and distributes the test areas among testers by imprinting the shapefiles in the admin console. The tester downloads all the information about the project and rushes to the test area using Google map.

    I’m the COO of HIPSTO, a news innovation company.

    What challenge were you trying to address with Dot Com Infoway?

    We needed help with digital marketing, design, and development. We started looking for a development partner that was familiar with AI because our in-house development team didn’t have that kind of expertise.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    They started off doing our digital marketing and promotion for our apps. Dot Com Infoway covers all of the different levels of our mobile app marketing, including App Store Optimization (ASO), keyword optimization, competitor analysis with regards to keywords, and marketing to influencers on various platforms. The collaboration has expanded to include more operational and research work. They’ve moved from doing only digital marketing to helping us with our overall strategy.

    They’ve also designed the apps, and are now in the development phase. Our in-house team was involved in the development at first, but we eventually let Dot Com Infoway take complete control. The mobile apps are for both iOS and Android.

    What is the team composition?

    There’s a project manager, two iOS developers, two Android developers, and a designer who works for us on a part-time basis. We also have four interns working for us on various research projects, including data entry into our AI system.

    How did you come to work with Dot Com Infoway?

    I had contact with the CEO about 15 months ago in the Netherlands. I’ve traveled to see them in their office in India three times. I also spent a month working from their office with my CEO.

    As we worked with them, we saw how detailed-oriented and pragmatic they are. They paid attention to deadlines and always delivered quality work. They have an excellent work ethic, and their team is full of honest and reliable people.

    We’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000 on their services.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We started working together in November 2018, and the work is ongoing.

    RESULTS & FEEDBACK

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    They were able to rebuild the whole product within two months. Right now, we’re doing a test flight for iOS and a beta release for Google. Dot Com Infoway is working hard to upgrade the app to the 2.1 version. It looks 10 times better than the version we used to have. Thanks to the quality of their work, we’re now able to grow and expand our business. The team has also been able to keep us in the top rankings for mobile apps.

    The project is managed extremely well. They hold themselves to tight deadlines even when we don’t provide them. They’re really amazing. We’ve never worked with a firm that’s as professional as Dot Com Infoway.

    After reviewing our current website, they built new wireframes according to our specifications and walks us through each one. They showed us a couple of designs before we chose one. They built our new website on WordPress and then worked on the website content, images, and keywords that aligned with our vision and mission.

    Their project manager was my point of contact. A design expert and two developers were also involved. The team remained constant throughout our collaboration.

    Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

    Since we launched the website, more people have come to know about our services and have also benefited from them. The increased visibility our organization has across the globe has also helped in mobilizing resources for an NGO like us, facilitating online donations.

    Project management was effectively organized through formal face-to-face meeting and phone calls. They were prompt in keeping up with deadlines and easily understood our organization’s expectations. Furthermore, they were responsive to our change requests regardless of how many times we asked.

    Dot Com Infoway created a new website that presents information about our party, including what we do on a daily basis. They also built an app for iOS and Android, which will be used by about half a million people. Dot Com Infoway has completed the website design, but we still need to provide content for the website.

    Initially, my main point of contact was the person in charge of website marketing. I also interacted with their chief designer. I’m still in touch with my main contact, depending on the need.

    The project started nine months ago, and it is still ongoing. I’ve been interacting with them for the past three months.

    Dot Com Infoway has done an excellent job. The website is going to work on pretty much all platforms. The people who have seen the website and app are quite happy about their output, so it’s going to be an exciting launch for our organization. While the rollout has not started, we are hoping for greater user engagement.

    We talk over the phone and share documents over email. They are collaborative and open to our ideas and change requests.

    They use some internal project management tools. Dot Com is primarily a tech company, rather than comprising business people, so some of their communication is a little difficult. However, if we give them a clear scope, they’ll deliver it.

    They come for meetings whenever we call them—it’s easy to work with them. They have a lot of experience, and their founder is well known.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    They operate from a tier-two city, and relative to what they deliver, they have a cost advantage over other developers—they’re an attractive proposition for customers. We decided to build an economical website and app, so we wanted a good-value partner. We were impressed by how they were able to deliver whatever technologies the website required.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    They should focus more on helping the customer come up with a definitive scope in the initial stages. They’re good, but they could go deeper into the customer’s mind.

    Beyond that, they could improve their product understanding and management, along with proper documentation.

    Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

    The client should come up with the proper scope, rather than just an idea. They’ll take it from there.

    I’m the senior principal of the CSR school. 10 years ago, we started with the goal of offering courses through tablet computers to get students more interested in audiovisuals. I’m responsible for all development and improvements.

    We wanted to consolidate all of our school systems into one solution, including our ERP (used to develop information and reports) and our communication tool. Trying to update the different solutions was becoming quite hectic, so we brought Dot Com Infoway on to build all our teaching modules and processes.

    SOLUTION

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    The tablet app they built has features for all three major parties: students, teachers, and parents. It takes automatic attendance and offers digital lessons for students, while teachers can cast notes to their students’ devices, which they can also lock during a session if they need to. These sessions can take place either online or offline and contain both text- and video-based messages. Parents can monitor their student’s attendance, assignments, content, and communication and pay the school fee.

    It took some time for us to give them the overall requirements, but they delivered what we wanted. They then developed a pilot program, incorporated the feedback from it, and trained our teachers to use the platform.

    What is the team composition?

    They have representatives for each division we can contact regarding specific parts of the platform, but I’m not sure about the actual team size.

    How did you come to work with Dot Com Infoway?

    Our management suggested them when we were looking for a partner. We liked that they had experience working on multiple apps, including some abroad.

    We communicate through email and WhatsApp. If we post about an issue in our group, we get an answer right away. They’re also in touch with our students and teachers.

    Although we have a main point of contact, they make their entire team available to us. They fulfill all the tasks we give them and fix any bugs that occur. When they give us a deadline estimate, they mostly stick to it.

    Their team and solutions distinguish them from their competitors. They have members in all different areas and are able to find solutions to whatever we need. We found it difficult to get aftersale service from other groups, but Dot Com Infoway is nice about it. They’ve certainly lived up to our expectations.

    In our country, a stigma prevented people from visiting psychiatric doctors for treatment. Our challenge was to increase awareness of this stigma and address it using social media marketing.

    What was the scope of their involvement?

    Dot Com Infoway provides digital and social media marketing for us. They maintain our Facebook page and post daily. A panel of psychologists produces the content, which is then sent to the DCI team to be regularly posted.

    How did you come to work with Dot Com Infoway?

    They were already working with the hospital when I came onboard.

    How much have you invested with them?

    Our overall agreement was for $20,000.

    What is the status of this engagement?

    We started working with DCI approximately one to one-and-a-half years ago. I cannot give an exact date since it was before my time.

    What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

    After launching our social media campaign, we have seen a significant change in the attitudes and outlooks of patients who we meet in the psychiatric context. There was a period in India when people didn't understand their need for psychiatric consultation. Since Facebook is a powerful tool used by everyone, we’ve seen a significant increase of around 300 new patients per month, 70% of which have come from social media.

    How did Dot Com Infoway perform from a project management standpoint?

    Their project management has been very effective. They resolved any posted issues as early as possible, and their team’s responsiveness has been very good. We have a WhatsApp group for communication, and we also communicate through phone calls.

    What did you find most impressive about them?

    Our psychologists are the only ones who’ve communicated with their team, so we don’t have a good idea of DCI’s technological or design capabilities. We assign generic tasks and corrections, which may require loads of work to be done. They’ve taken our directions well, and have never complained about the number of changes we’ve requested. Whatever we asked for, they’ve given us. I don’t know if other agencies can provide this level of responsiveness.

    Are there any areas they could improve?

    At the moment, they do not need to work on anything. They just need to provide a broader scale of services.

    Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

    Clients may not be familiar with the technology and terminology of the digital marketing industry. They might have something in mind, and require it to be done, without knowing the amount of work that it entails.

    Every digital marketing company should be adaptable to client requests, but not all are. DCI differentiates themselves by accepting the changes we request and being able to acknowledge their mistakes. They’ve done whatever we told them without hesitation and without an attitude.
