The app has garnered top user ratings and industry recognition thanks to Digital Dividend’s technical expertise. The team’s outstanding work ethic and organized approach fostered positive results.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of a company that has developed a mobile app for people with diabetes. Our platform allows patients to have better control over their health data and set reminders for blood glucose measurement, medicines, and insulin.
We also offer a compact glucose meter that plugs into an Android phone’s audio jack. It lets users record and store blood glucose information directly on the smartphone. Our patient-doctor connectivity service also allows healthcare providers to monitor their patients’ data remotely.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Dividend?
We outsourced the frontend and backend development of our MVP to Digital Dividend.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to have an MVP to launch the product and start onboarding customers. The MVP was also necessary to reach out to investors.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
A mutual business contact referred Digital Dividend. Their international exposure and work with clients in Europe were major factors in our decision.
Describe the project in detail.
Digital Dividend developed an app for Android and iOS. Initially, we created a scope document and designs based on discussions. After getting estimates and finalizing the team structure, we kicked off the project.
What was the team composition?
We worked with a project manager, backend developer, frontend developer, and designer from their team.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The app was launched after six months and soon reached 1,000 downloads on the Play Store. It is currently rated 4.2 and has attracted the attention of newspapers and bloggers. We were also recognized as one of the leading startups in Pakistan at a tech conference.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project flowed smoothly. We had some hiccups due to team transition, but they were resolved without much delay. Digital Dividend’s senior resources were available to address hurdles.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was impressed with their strong ethics.
Are there any areas for improvement?
The design aspect could be improved. They should give more emphasis on UI/UX design, as this can make or break any application.

Digital Dividend used an effective workflow to deliver the application in time to be used during summer. Led by an engaged manager, the team accommodates well to client preferences and demonstrates a commitment to meeting project goals.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing manager for a consumer products company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We hired them to help with app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an idea of what we wanted to develop, but we didn’t know exactly how to proceed. We presented them with an alpha version of our app and some light documentation. We held a few sessions to go through the application and explain the overall architecture, and then Digital Dividend developed the full iOS and Android products. The application is an outdoor game for children.
What is the team composition?
We have regular contact with the project lead and the main designer. During peak times, we had at least two other people involved part-time.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
I spent a few weeks searching online for an app development company. I included Digital Dividend in a group of five firms we considered and three that we interviewed. We decided to hire them because we felt confident working with them based on their technical competence.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $40,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in September 2018, and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK

We’re really happy with their performance. We had many discussions about our goals and preferences for different tools throughout the project. Once we agreed to specific terms, we worked well together.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their manager stays in regular contact with us, which we appreciate. We have a good dialogue between us. We receive a lot of support from Digital Dividend. They have experience working with many apps.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the technical lead and CPO for Quintessence Limited. We provide software and web development for firms in the real estate industry.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We have a long-term partnership with Digital Dividend, and we recently developed an Android and iOS app for a shopping mall. They provide a .NET development team, which we don’t have in-house.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve been working together on multiple projects since 2009. For example, in 2012, Digital Dividend created software for a physical interactive model of a real estate development area. Their work allowed users to light up a part of the model that corresponded with an apartment, a block, or a street.
More recently, they built an Android and iOS app for the shopping mall. They produced the software requirements specification (SRS) document and created the CMS and API. The team developed the Android and iOS versions separately.
What is the team composition?
We interact with the principal, a project manager, and a lead and secondary developer.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
A cousin of mine recommended them after he worked with their principal.
How much have you invested with them?
We have invested about $30,000 for this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
The shopping mall engagement began in September 2017 and is ongoing. We are currently working on a tool that allows mall visitors to pay for parking via the app.model of a real estate development area. Their work allowed users to light up a part of the model that corresponded with an apartment, a block, or a street.
More recently, they built an Android and iOS app for the shopping mall. They produced the software requirements specification (SRS) document and created the CMS and API. The team developed the Android and iOS versions separately.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Digital Dividend will always be there to support us, and they’ll always deliver. They’ve provided support for our existing developers or taken on entire projects.
How did Digital Dividend perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve used Skype, Jira, Trello, and Slack to maintain contact with them. I have a Skype group with the project manager and some of the developers. I also have direct contact with the principal. We might use a Google spreadsheet to track tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I appreciate their availability and their willingness to take on new projects.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We didn’t always have the budget for QA, so we did all the testing ourselves. If they had a better QA setup, we could improve the feedback process.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Make sure the senior leadership takes an active role because their involvement enhances the team’s performance. It’s important for them to offer guidance.

Digital Dividend developed the frontend of a payment application for a telecommunications client. They worked through challenges on the Android platform and designed the UI, such as icons and buttons.
Digital Dividend excels in investigating and understanding the business, enabling problem solving and consultation beyond the scope of a software house. Their outstandingly comprehensive expertise helps them to deliver solutions, often in technically challenging situations.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of a bespoke software house, but we get expert help when required.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We provide backend work for a number of clients. We engaged Digital Dividend for the frontend.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The engagement is partly resourcing but also consulting. Digital Dividend delivered the frontend of a payment app for a telecommunications client. The app used some technically demanding elements on the Android platform. Their in-house designers handled a lot of the frontend UI, including icon and button design. If we encounter a technically demanding issue, they find a way around it.
What is the team composition?
We have a project manager who serves as a single point of contact. He is our liaison and the translator of our requirements to the developers themselves. He also liaises back to us in terms of what’s going on. On occasion, we have spoken to the developers themselves. We’ve dealt with them across the spectrum of database and network analysts, and web, Android, and iOS developers.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
Someone who had worked with them before recommended them to us. This is often the best way to identify a partner. We looked at their previous work as an indication of what the future was likely to hold. We contacted them because they have expertise in Android, iOS, web development, and other areas we tackled. Although not a huge firm, they have adopted many of the best characteristics of one.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Digital Dividend 24 months ago. We have an ongoing collaboration.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s difficult to find business partners who understand what the business does and undertake some analysis themselves. Producing completely from spec has its strengths, but, quite often, the challenges we get can make us go back and reconsider our approach. Digital Dividend is a consultant business partner rather than just a software house.
How did Digital Dividend perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is very good. They generally deliver on time and budget. They estimate tasks accurately and deliver on those estimations. They inform clients ahead of budgets being overrun and explain why. I’m satisfied with their performance. If there are issues, they are dealt with promptly. I’m a happy customer.
They have a task process in place. Everything is tested before it arrives at our door. It’s dependent on how technically demanding the work is. They have been exceptionally good at basic web development. They know what they’re doing. Trickier and more demanding Android development might take a couple of days to get it right. In the end, they are always able to find a solution. Their strength lies in finding a working solution where there is no obvious one.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have a very good depth and range of expertise. They don’t need to go outside of their own staff to call upon an expert. If we need to deploy a web server, they will assign a networking person. If we need to convert an Android app to iOS, they will give us someone who can do it. Unusually for a software house, they also have in-house designers. This was surprising in terms of breadth of services provided. We could throw a lot at them, and they are quite savvy. They’re more than just a software house; they’re also consultants. They have a wide range of specialists for Android, iOS, and database and network analysis. There are a number of people there who are good to talk to. We found the developers to be very receptive and intelligent, and they ask good questions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
On occasion, some things can get lost in translation through the project manager or another layer of communication. There may be a slightly more efficient way to communicate. There are always things that go astray, but we haven’t gone too far astray. They always try to do their best, which is as much as we can ask.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Meet the team and have more than just a documentary passing system for delivery. We often have telephone conferences with the project managers and the developers. This assists the development effort immensely, and I recommend it to all future clients. Getting to know the individuals involved leads to a happier environment and a more efficient way of developing.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a Swedish software company that supports mobile app development and software.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We wanted resources to build a food delivery app for Windows and Android.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built a food delivery app for Windows and Android using .NET to support the backend. The app allows customers to see menus, order food, pay, and request delivery. In addition to development, they designed the UI for the app. They’re also working on an AdPlay project to support our marketing team.
What is the team composition?
We primarily worked with their owner.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
We heard about them through a tech fair in Sweden. They had a good reputation, so we contacted them.
How much have you invested with them?
On average, the project cost 300,000 krona ($35,600 USD) per year.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working with them in 2012. We initially gave them small projects to gauge the relationship. They performed well, so we’ve continued to work with them on numerous development projects.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app has excelled in its market with over 200 restaurants hosted on the platform. It presents menus and facilitates customer orders. Currently, it’s a leading contender in food apps.
Internally, we praise the caliber of their work; they’re capable of completing any project. Despite the difficulty of app development, they’ve produced strong deliverables.
How did Digital Dividend perform from a project management standpoint?
While we don’t know the entire development team, they’ve provided different project managers to oversee each project. Respectful of deadlines, they’ve also proactively recruited other resources on our behalf to augment our needs. With their strong communication skills, we’ve rarely encountered any misunderstandings. We normally contacted them through Skype, Trello, and email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We greatly appreciate how cost-effective they are compared to local competitors. They work efficiently within our budget.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Companies in Europe, the U.S., and Australia should consider them. They have a cost-effective pricing model and excellent project management.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and president of CataBlackCar, a car service located in Miami.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We needed help with app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built native applications that are already on the market, but on a smaller scale that is much easier to navigate.
The platform is built on ASP.NET and all the latest market technologies. It is customized for high-class people and vehicles. It has a lot of features, such as driver tracking on maps, car seats for children, and the ability to wait in the airport. Everything is stored on the platform, and the whole business runs through the system. It’s a state-of-the-art website.
When they finalized the first version, we realized that the technology wasn’t advanced enough, so they updated the system. They’re now developing this project on a larger scale. I’m extending the business across Florida and am looking to expand into cities like New York, Atlanta, and Los Angeles. They also maintain the system on a monthly basis.
What is the team composition?
I worked with the project manager. Their CTO is the main person in charge of our system.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
We worked with a company that went bankrupt. After the owner and CEO of Digital Dividend separated from that company, I started doing business with him.
How much have you invested with them?
We have spent over $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in 2014 and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The website and the iOS and Android applications work, and people are satisfied with the system. We tested for a six months and haven’t gotten any ratings yet. It’s too new. I’m looking for a way to market that.
How did Digital Dividend perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re wonderful people and great partners. They’re very patient, very knowledgeable, and always available when I need them. Being in direct contact with them is great. Many companies don’t want to be bothered, but Digital Dividend prioritizes our business. I correspond with the project manager every other day through Skype, and we use email with the rest of the team. We can log into Trello to see which tasks are outstanding and which ones have been completed.
I can always see what they are doing and how far the project has progressed. Daily communication is important to me. I tell them what we’re looking for and the developers come up with great ideas about how the software should work and how it should be designed. We just choose one of the options they offer. They’re very eager to start working, and they divide the work in a very professional manner. Everyone knows their responsibilities.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They give me ideas every day and are always ahead in every aspect of the business. Rather than just fixing things or putting software into place that might be worthless tomorrow, they’re always looking for new solutions and technologies. They improve every day.
They understand my business flow, look on the bright side, and plan for the future, which I love. I have big plans for them. They never overcharge, and they have very good prices compared to others. They always tell us in advance.
They’re professionals at building websites, applications, and other systems, such as main panels. They understand my field of business and excel at making assessments. Their team is very flexible, humble, dedicated, and helpful. They’re part of the business.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their only issue is that they take a little longer than usual, but it’s because they work in the proper way and take every project seriously. Sometimes, I don’t want to rush because I want things done properly. At other times, I want to rush but still get the same answer. It’s worth it, though.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If I had to start over, I would still choose them.

Digital Dividend designed and developed the website and mobile apps for a food delivery app. The app features location specific menus, restaurant hours, and payments. They have a one-year maintenance contract.
When the project was nearly finished, Digital Dividend spent extra time without billing to revise the product to incorporate feedback. The product they delivered meets the full scope of requirements, and the team exceeded expectations with their design capabilities and accommodating scheduling.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Congo Software Solutions, a design and development firm. We outsource the development work.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Digital Dividend?
We needed outside resources to help us with medium to large mobile and web apps.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They developed our website and our iOS and Android apps for our food delivery and ordering app. It’s the first one in Congo. The app brings up restaurants according to the area a user is in. Then, the user can click on the specific restaurants to see more information such as their hours of operation and delivery hours. The app features a basket where the user can place their items. The platform also processes payments. The app also features gallery systems, so users can see pictures of the restaurants and the food that they offer. There are also reviews available. Everything is synced together. They were all native apps. They also designed the website and apps in their entirety. Even though we had an in-house designer, we decided to have Digital Dividend do the entire scope.
They provide us with support and maintenance. We’re doing a couple of new releases this year and adding a couple features which they’re starting on this month. They help with software upgrades, technical difficulties, and bugs. We purchased a package from them to make sure we’ve got a guarantee on that product for the first year.
What is the team composition?
Mohsin (CTO, Digital Dividend) assisted with the entire project in order to assure our needs were understood. He assigned a project manager, a designer, two Android developers, two iOS developers, someone for the server and the database, and a tester.
How did you come to work with Digital Dividend?
We investigated firms in several places including Dubai, India, and Pakistan. I flew into all three countries to meet these people because we needed a firm partner for a long-term relationship, and I needed to make sure we were comfortable enough to work with them. I did a background check and narrowed the list to about 10 companies. Digital Dividend was my top choice.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2017 and the work is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
At the end of the project, they had about three testers and one full-time tester. They also asked our internal team to test it from our side. The great thing about them was once they did a specific feature, they wouldn’t say that it was the final one. They took our feedback from users and they managed to change the whole thing over within two days and didn’t charge any extra.
How did Digital Dividend perform from a project management standpoint?
We created a group chat. We used Trello to make sure everything was done correctly and professionally. I could see the work they were doing continuously. We created a Slack channel for immediate communications. They made an extra effort to customize their schedule and make sure someone was available to us during our time zone; we really appreciated that.
They are quick. I was very impressed with the speed that they work at. When you add additional pages, they are very quick to implement them; they would do it the same day as long as the resources were available.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their resources, price, and quality really impressed us.
I always believed if you’re a developer, you’re not a designer, but we were fortunate that Digital Dividend has a very good design team. The entire design was entirely designed by them and we’re really happy with it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We were initially told the project would take 5–6 months and it took an extra month which I can understand because we made some changes. Maybe they could have forecasted that. The reason I’m willing to continue with them is because the quality of work they provide.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Before you start a project, list everything, have a technical data sheet ready and list all your requirements for the project. More information helps them a great deal. If you can’t provide wireframes, mention what each screen and each button should have.
