I’m a Head of Engineering and CTO of the edutech startup that exists around for two years.

For what projects/services did your company hire Devox Software, and what were your goals?

We hired Devox to provide web development services. We finished an MVP version and working on ‘happy path’ functionality. Having a huge code base ramped up for almost two years, there was a necessity to review it. In addition, restructuring the code in order to build code that is a more efficient and distributed system, which could work with a huge amount of users.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have found Devox Software through a referral. We sent out the project documentation, definition document of what we expected to have next to several companies for pricing and approaches quotes. Three companies provided us with the proposals; however, we decided to work exactly with Devox Software.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Having our technological stack: nodejs, Docker, AWS, react –was decided to setup a team for the new features development. There was a discovery phase made by Devox Software, which highlighted the most critical parts of the platform. We split our team capacity: 30% working on the re-structuring code base and 70% working on the backlog. The approach described, let us fulfill our customers demand on the new features development, stabilize the platform iteratively as well.

Team capacity is flexible. Apart from having the core team: 3 developers, QA and PM, Devox Software provided us on-demand with software architect, DevOps expert, UX\UI designer

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As of now, we have our code base smooth and is able to be expanded with the new features that requested by our users. Since we started with Devox, our platform accumulated ~10x users and the loading is significantly increased. However, infrastructure is doing well, the flight is normal.

Communication is transparent. The team is always ready to assist and meets our deadlines. We have a direct contact with Devox Software entire team, and we work in sprints in Jira. Daily meeting, biweekly planning and demo meetings through Slack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Devox Software team is fully involved into our success and provides valuable feedback. Project management team manages expectations well. We also have access to Devox’s CTO, who is very knowledgeable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I have nothing for Devox to improve — we have great partnership.

I'm an SVP of Engineering. We are an automotive benchmarking management platform based on working with the largest auto manufacturers in Europe.

For what projects/services did your company hire Devox Software, and what were your goals?

Creating our platform 'great again' was our primary purpose. There was lots of legacy, and we were beating around the bush to start implement the different features. It was required to stop idling about from the perspective of the software development of our products. At the same time, there was amount of legacy code and we needed a trustful vendor that could code patiently, pick it up, and make the reverse engineering with zero downtime for us as for business. Devox has helped us to set up software development process as well as adjust team capacity to build a few new modules that our clients requested. Additionally, Devox has also implemented and maintained our web CRM platform.

According to the Clutch rank, testimonials, reviews as well, we have shortlisted Devox Software. Apart from, there was a set of meetings with business owners, account managers, and technical guys, who demonstrated profound knowledge and intention to assist. They made brilliant job during discovery phase, so that there was a key point to make a decision.

We had a discovery phase where we collaborated with PO from our side and technical BA from Devox. As a result, we framed our scope of work and separated it on milestones. Hence, it makes possible for us to create a backlog. Next, phase-by-phase using Agile methodology, the technical team implemented and migrated feature by feature. Our technical stack is ASP.NET Core, Azure, Angular, SQL, Azure DevOPS.

Product owner and Project manager for our end. 5 software engineers – Angular and .NET, 2 QAs, DevOps. Moreover, management involvement from Devox side as account managers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Devox has always delivered above and beyond the basic requirements we would like. Their team provides regularly the key insights that significantly improved our application (UX and functionally).

They are very strong when it is about communication. Tooling: emails, Microsoft Teams, Azure DevOps. Daily meeting to communicate and other artifacts of scrum. They spend time to know full well our requirements as well as meet with us on a regular basis, namely, to ensure we were on track on the same page.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Devox hires very good developers whom we could rely on. We were able to provide them with “lean requirements” and talked to them what we need. Next, they asked many questions, which are absolutely relevant, and make us think about feature/module from a different perspective. Eventually, we have well-described requirements and backlog that fully cover out needs. Indeed, that is the most impressive thing to me about Devox.

All good.

Serve as Sr. Vice President Delivery position at one of the largest IT service providers in the Nordic market. Our main business is providing software development solutions, operation management and IT systems support.

We hired Devox to extend our capacity in Web development. While gaining new clients at the beginning of the year we were in need of software development team extension for a various project. We’ve decided to try an ODC model in Eastern Europe. The goal was to build a team up to 15 engineers.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We got in touch with Devox directly. Their experience in building ODC and vast number of completed projects met our expectations. We discussed some ideas and plans, values, pros and cons of building ODCs, and finally got the proposal. It looked expensive, but at the same time great. After having interviewed several candidates, we signed the agreement and started of our cooperation.

From the beginning of our cooperation, we’ve agreed the rules, communication plan as well as tech requirements for positions. Our aim was to be flexible in hiring and actually quick enough. Therefore, within such an approach we were able to hire 3-4 engineers per months with different specialization. However, sometimes we had to find a replacement for the position, the procedure and step-by-step plan were also determined in our agreement.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We’re able to increase not just Headcount on our team, but also in a code quality. Such a setup still works very well and allows us to provide the service to our customers.

Devox's CEO was instrumental in the beginning in helping understand/scope our project and remains engaged as necessary. We have a single UX/UI resource who is quite capable however we do get access to the broader design group, including the head of design, if/when necessary. We've also accessed one-off resources as necessary - such as their head of SEO for an SEO audit of our site.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project continues to be a success. As an early-stage company, we're continuously iterating to find product success. Devox has been quick and effective at iterating alongside us. I'm happy with the team, their responsiveness, and their output.

Good.  In general, we collaborate nicely.

Output quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness.  I would definitely recommend Devox.

UX and UI for a redesign of our test application.

What were your goals for this project?

To discover an innovative design with user interactions designed for young students. Parts of the complexity is due to the nature of eye-tracking, the other part is children.

We hired the Devox team for a complicated (unusual interaction) UX/UI assignment. The team managed the project well both for initial time estimates and also weekly followups throughout delivery. After the first meeting summarized Oleksandra the tasks and estimated the whole project.

This gave a lot of confidence. We initiated the UX wireframes, to the point where we were satisfied. After which, another UI designer completed the design. Overall, efficient work with a nice professional team.
