Devima Solutions provided PHP development services to an IT consulting and software development company. They were the PHP experts on an API library-building project for another firm.
Working well with the client's team, Devima Solutions impressed throughout the engagement. Their code stood up to internal and external review. Their team maintained transparency through frequent, thorough communication via email and Slack. They made sure the project ran smoothly.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We’re an IT consulting and software development company based in Lithuania. We work primarily with clients in the Scandinavian region, specifically Sweden and Finland. We develop local projects as well. We’re working with a wide range of companies, from tourism to construction.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We were working with a cloud services provider in Finland that had an API they provided to their customers. We were tasked with building a range of libraries for that API in different languages. We had in-house resources for some of those, like Python and JavaScript, but not for PHP. We decided to look for an external partner, and we found Devima.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provided PHP development services.
What is the team composition?
I was in contact primarily with Oleh (Co-Owner & VP of Business Development). I signed the contract with him, and he acted as project manager.
How did you come to work with Devima Solutions?
We were looking for partnerships with local companies in Lithuania, so we published a request on social media. Oleh responded and introduced his company. We had several calls and Hangouts meetings where we described the task and technologies involved. Based on these experiences, we decided to give them a try.
We introduced them to the customer and started the work. We signed a contract and worked in two- and three-week sprints. We made an additional annex for each sprint. The initial collaboration was successful, so we prolonged it.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent €20,000–€30,000 (approximately $24,000–$36,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together between September 2020–February 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We did an initial review of Devima’s work using our own specialists well as another one on the customer side. They've done a great job and worked well with our team to provide the best services possible to the customer.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We had a lot of restrictions because of the pandemic, so all the work had to be remote. We used timesheets to track the work, and everything was transparent. They gave us enough information to understand how things were going. We communicated via email and a Slack channel. Being from the same country, communication was easier than it would’ve been with a company from Ukraine, for example.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a young and enthusiastic team, but not to the point of underestimating the work. They kept the project on track and communicated well. I never saw a lack of knowledge on their side and they accepted all our schedule challenges.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing in particular that I could suggest.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
In the beginning, we agreed to do a small chunk of work with them to see how they’d work with us and the customer. Things went well, so we continued.

Devima Solutions developed two cross-platform applications, one for customers and one for beauty salons. The tools feature payment integrations, and Devima Solutions works with local financial institutions.
With the apps being finalized, Devima Solutions will provide ongoing maintenance. The client praises their on-time deliveries and the seriousness with which they approached the project. Devima Solutions produced a critical part of their client's value proposition with professional management.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are integrating two groups with salons — customers and freelancers like makeup artists and other aesthetic specialists — as well as managing bookings and payments.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We needed help with app development.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Devima Solutions built both of our applications from scratch for iOS and Android — one for service providers and one for customers. We have been working more on iOS than we have on Android because most of the people in our region have iPhones. They also created an admin panel for us.
We’ve moved step-by-step through every stage of technical development. They’ve integrated with the payment gateway in Saudi Arabia and work with the technical team from our local bank.
What is the team composition?
Our main contact is Oleh (Co-Owner and VP of Business Development). We work with the rest of the team, but Oleh is the one who mostly responds to our queries.
How did you come to work with Devima Solutions?
I did a benchmark with a couple of companies from different countries and arranged a call with each of them. Devima convinced me in our discussion.
How much have you invested in them?
We have spent around $35,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with them since March 2020. The apps have been completed, and we are in the final stages and will be launching our applications soon. Devima Solutions is also providing maintenance for us.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Devima Solutions’ service was very niche and high-quality, and they have been supportive and quick to respond to our queries. We checked the quality of the apps, and it is very high. I have been using the customer-facing application, and even though I don’t see the coding or the backend, I can tell that the quality is very high, especially when I move from one page to another. I am very happy using the application.
Because we don’t have a store for our services, the applications will be our main asset. We are proud of that asset, which is why we were very careful when we selected Devima Solutions to develop it.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They finish projects on time. We have a weekly call regarding development and the stage we’re in. Their quality is very high, and they are very supportive. Whenever there are any issues, they fix them immediately.
We have used Slack, and we also have a WhatsApp group. Devima Solutions has us download the application offline using a solution called App Distribution.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I am very happy to have signed a contract with Devima Solutions and would recommend them to many of my friends who are thinking of starting a business and creating an application. They knew we needed a certain level of comfortability with our vendor to achieve a successful project.
Devima Solutions gives advice when we ask them, and they have been helpful to us in our startup environment. They are also very careful when it comes to delivering high-quality code and a high-quality application interface.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind. I believe they have done their work properly.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You should follow up with Devima Solutions. We have weekly calls, but the application is very sensitive; it is our main asset, and the only asset we have, so we follow up with them. Perhaps we do it too much, but I think any entrepreneur should do the same.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the product and design lead at a web and app development studio.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We needed help with development for a third-party client.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Devima Solutions helped us create a tool to connect users with licensed mental health practitioners and life coaches. First, we had an initial conversation. Then, we produced a series of designs and wireframes. We worked together to scope out the product features and additional functionalities.
Next, we assigned times to each step of the process. They worked in two-week sprints. Finally, they delivered a fully completed tool. It uses a React frontend and Node.js backend. The tool offers instant messaging, onboarding questions, search results, filtering, and video calling technology.
What is the team composition?
We worked Oleh (Co-Owner & VP of Business Development).
How did you come to work with Devima Solutions?
They did some work for me in my previous role.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2020, and we wrapped up in March 2021.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We haven’t deployed it yet, but there are no bugs. In previous projects, there are usually quite a few bugs when big features are released; With Devima, however, there was literally nothing wrong.
They always went the extra mile when we wanted to change something last minute. The team was very responsive and helpful.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We used Jira and Confluence for project management. We collaborated very well together. They took the reins and completed every task in a timely manner.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work was always great. They were responsive to our needs and changes in ways other development firms wouldn’t have been.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
My advice is to work with them. They’re the best development group I’ve ever worked with.

Devima Solutions provided custom software development services for a global medicine information organization. Their team built the front- and backend of a solution utilizing PHP, Symfony, and MySQL.
The solution has helped decrease errors and redo projects to 2%. Devima Solutions produced a very clean code that is also of high quality. They held regularly cadenced, as well as ad-hoc, meetings to discuss progress. Cost-beneficial rates and experience are hallmarks of their work.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an SVP of operations at PSL Group, a group of companies with different businesses. I work in the business market research division. We’re dedicated to putting information into the service of medicine.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We do programming for web studies for our clients. The nature of the market research industry is we receive a lot of changes or extra work on every single project. We were facing issues where changes weren’t properly delivered to us or weren’t properly identified in the document.
The result was errors in programming. It very often led to increased, unforeseen costs on the project and damaging our reputation with our clients. We needed a tool to help us to itemize and order those changes. We decided to outsource this task.
SOLUTION
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Before the changes log, the percentage of projects that we had to redo because of errors was a bit more than 5%. Now it’s about 2%. The reason why other business groups decided to use them is that they liked the code a lot. It was very clean.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
It was quite a smooth and seamless process. They gave us the ETA, and we had regular meetings. In the beginning, it was more frequent where I’d answer any of the questions they had. After that, we met on a weekly basis to see where we were.
If they had any questions, they reached out on an ad hoc basis. It was a good experience working with them. We didn’t need a lot of back and forth. They had a tool they used but we communicated with them via email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their cost and experience are great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Devima Solutions could improve on product management. They could be more upfront. We did have changes with this tool. That’s why it took more than what we were planning. The cost was a bit higher.
It’s not that they did a bad job communicating that there’d be extra time and cost but I’d have liked it to be a bit more upfront so we’d be able to plan our time much more accurately. Additionally, there have been some language barriers.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have your own business analyst and come prepared as much as possible. Ensure that the requirements are fully understood by the team and you should have no problems.

A software company needed to refactor their core engine and develop wireframes and mockups for their platform. They chose Devima Solutions to become their partner for this project.
The Devima Solutions team provided the company with a clean code that integrated well with their overall system and even gace great documentation of all the steps. The workflow was kept simple and the team completed their work so quickly that the company didn't feel the need to impose deadlines.
The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am on of the cofounders at a software company, Howl. We are building a design platform that allows content creators and small businesses to easily create compelling interactive designs.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Devima Solutions, and what were your goals?
Our team had developed a unique engine for our design building platform. Our goals were to refactor and solidify our core engine for the design building platform, as well as develop some wireframes and mock-ups for various views.
SOLUTION
How did you select Devima Solutions and what were the deciding factors?
We found Devima Solutions through upwork. As a technical person, it was easy to see Devima's development expertise and their capabilities through the success of their previous projects. We then proceeded to craft an interview / test task, as recommended by Maksym (CEO / Founder of Devima).
We were very impressed by the rapid understanding and development time from Devima, especially given the complex task. We began our relationship with Devima for front-end development contracting.
We were so impressed with Dmytro, our assigned developer, that we wanted to see how if the team could also help with some of our UI / UX development. Devima provided an awesome UI / UX professional, Maria, who helped design a few pages in Figma for a "test task".
She asked all of the right questions, focused on every little detail, and moved quickly.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
React
Redux
JS
Figma
Github
Codepen
Google Docs
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have worked with three people from Devima (so far)
Maksym (Manager)
Dmytro (Senior React / JS developer)
Mariia (UI / UX Designer)
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
React Development :
Great documentation
Clean Code
Integrates well into our overall system
Follows our design specifications very closely
Optimized for performance, which we were UI / UX Design
Beautiful Interactive Designs
Many design edge cases considered
Consistent theming
Component library included
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Our project management style was quite simple. We essentially had a backlog of software features / designs. We constantly added to this backlog and reprioritized items. Dmytro and Maria moved at such a quick pace we didn't even feel the need to give them fixed deadlines.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Devima has a very unique combination of impressive qualities. They are great communicators, top notch developers / designers, move extremely fast, collaborative / enjoyable to work with, and affordable. What more could you ask for?
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not that I can think of, honestly.

Devima Solutions provided a teammate to support a tech startup’s engineering team. He helps with development, working in React, Redux, Node.js, Xpress Framework, and MySQL.
The client has been so pleased with the teammate’s work that they have used him in a full-time capacity for several months. He has outperformed many of the internal developers. Devima Solutions communicates with the client over Slack and LinkedIn about day-to-day affairs and staffing availability.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m CEO of an advertising technology startup based in Seattle. We build technology and offer services to different companies in the advertising ecosystem.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We were building out an OpenRTB platform for running advertising auctions at a large scale and needed someone skilled in full-stack development to facilitate the front- and backend builds.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We integrated one team member into our engineering team as an embedded resource. He works with our team, joins our planning sessions, takes part in standups, and functions as one of our team members.
We provided him with user stories to implement on a daily basis. He’s worked in React and Redux on the frontend and Node.js, Xpress Framework, and MySQL. Everything is running on an AWS cluster. Their work manages user participation in real-time advertising auctions.
What is the team composition?
We worked solely with one team member.
How did you come to work with Devima Solutions?
I found him on Upwork and gave him a test task, along with other vendor options. He completed it pretty quickly and accurately, so we hired them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent $15,000–$20,000 to date.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working with him since October 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
After the project was complete, we noticed that the teammate they provided was so effective in the work that we wanted to keep him on staff. He’s continued working full-time with us for a few months now.
I’ve been impressed with his work since his first day. He outperforms many of our internal developers.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate through Slack. If I want some insight into their staffing availability, I’ll message the team on LinkedIn. Here, we use Azure DevOps to do code reviews.
What did you find most impressive about them?
He executes on our requirements and gets things done. His English is very strong and he’s never had any trouble understanding our needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything.

Devima Solutions used Firebase to develop a bespoke platform that uses SVG and Canvas to create mathematical models. They used React to build the frontend and Node.js for the backend.
Rather than spending a month developing each model, mathematicians only need 20–30 minutes with the help of the app. A reliable and dedicated team, Devima Solutions went above and beyond by helping the client with UI/UX design. They also communicated effectively through weekly meetings.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Dreamten, a UI/UX firm.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?
We were working on a B2B app development project, but the subject matter was pretty complicated and full-stack development isn’t our specialty. The client came to us with a few design concepts, but the UI/UX was awful and the software had a lot of bugs. We subcontracted to Devima Solutions to develop the platform.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I gave them a high-level concept and Dmytro (CTO) understood what we wanted to do right away, despite the complexity of the project. The app takes hyper-complex mathematical models and uses SVG and canvas to visualize mathematical organizations. It was like creating a flow chart with hundreds of different nodes.
Devima Solutions built components based on the API documentation and endpoints that our clients provided and the frontend markups we gave them. Then they implemented that into the system so we could navigate the platform. They used Firebase to develop the product, React to build the frontend, and Node.js for the backend.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Oleh (Co-Owner) and Dmytro.
How did you come to work with Devima Solutions?
I found them through Upwork. We hired three different agencies and chose Devima Solutions because they performed the best.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $10,000–$50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from October–December 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Although the app isn’t ready to launch just yet, it is much better than the older version. It functions like a desktop app and processes data instantaneously Before the project, mathematicians spent about a month on each model, but the software helps them complete them within 20–30 minutes.
They were able to preserve every pixel that we designed. They even took some of our workload off of our plate as well by helping with the UX design work.
A third-party developer thought their work was amazing. He rarely compliments other developers, so his praise is very sincere.
How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
We had standup meetings with our developer and project manager twice a week. They worked very quickly. They frequently pushed through tasks and they communicated their progress well. They updated us almost every day.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re reliable and they communicate well. They were aware of deadlines and our budget, which ensured that everything went smoothly. The price was very reasonable and worth every penny. Other agencies would have charged us twice as much and we wouldn’t have the same results.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything they need to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Trust them because they will steer you in the right direction. They have a lot of experience so they don’t need to be micromanaged.

Are there any areas they could improve?
They could improve their billing process for US-based customers. The invoices are in a spreadsheet that is very vague, their contracts are in another language, and it has been difficult to navigate their payment process.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Clear communication is key. If customers can do that, Devima Solutions has the resources and the team to perform.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
Owner of an online media company
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Devima Solutions, and what were your goals?
Front-end coding of our new brand. Our biggest project to date so choosing the right partner for the front-end development was essential for us.
SOLUTION
How did you select Devima Solutions and what were the deciding factors?
They were very responsive, gave a in-depth cost analysis and breakdown/milestones of the project. We contacted a few agencies and they came out as the best fit for us.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had a Figma design as a deliverable and technical requirements to follow. They coded the front-end with all our requirements and specifics in mind. They split up the project into 4 milestones which was great to keep track of progress.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 in total. Developers and CTO.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The handover to our backend developers has taken place after sign-off by our CTO. Both CTO and backend developers are all in agreement that the quality of the code is great and makes it easy to integrate with our back-end.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We added members of their team onto our Slack. They were always there for questions or to share updates. Overall a good experience. Additionally we logged bugs and feedback in Trello to wich we also give them access and issues raised there were always fixed in a timely manner.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The communication and the quality of the work were really impressive. No issues requesting changes or giving feedback and having it implemented.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The project went a bit over our deadline but that is quite common everywhere when it comes to IT projects, so nothing new or special for us. On the other hand, the quality of the work delivered exceeded our expectations which for us was far more important.

BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
Our company automates comparing home and auto insurance quotes from multiple companies. My position is the VP & Director of Marketing so I worked directly with Devima (Oleh) on implementing our UX/UI, SalesForce, Marketing Cloud, API, Google Cloud, and other technical points for the backend of our site.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire Devima Solutions, and what were your goals?
We hired Devima to take over the entire technical side of our website for both front-end and back-end. Our goals were to:
1. Build the entire front end of our website using raw javascript, HTML, etc.
2. Create our own admin panel where we could manage our blog postings and other article postings
3. Structure the backend to create the insurance comparison quote calculator, and integrate that system with an AMS, CRM, personal User-sign in Dashboard and be able to manage everything from within the company.
4. Develop a system to upkeep and manage both front end and backend on an ongoing basis. This was one beast of a project we threw onto the team.
SOLUTION
How did you select Devima Solutions and what were the deciding factors?
They were referred to us by Excited.agency (a UX/UI agency also based in Ukraine). We had already been to two other developer agencies and none of them gave us even remotely close to a good product and they were taking months to get the front-end done. We are VERY glad we went with Devima, and plan on using them for the time being.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Well... we used everything ranging from JSon, to Javascript, google cloud, ngnix, to figma for designing the front-end, SalesForce integration and so much more. Our key deliverable was the actual website itself. That scope is so large that it ranged from coding 25+ of pages of raw HTML, CSS, and Javascript (which was only the tip of the iceberg).
From there we had them integrate SalesForce and other CRM and AMS management systems to help us build an incredible product. It is still in the works, however we have come so far from where we began and anytime there were potential bugs, Oleh and his team would find them before our launch would happen and they would propose a few solutions and talk them through with us.
They communicate VERY well, which was ginormous in helping us move quickly and efficiently.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
1+ people. Our main method of contact was primarily Oleh. He had his team of both front end and back end developers whom we did not meet. We were able to meet 2 others but it was for a brief moment that ended up helping us because we knew that everything went through Oleh who would pass the word along and always got the job done.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We are VERY satisfied with the product Devima offered us. What started as a very simple task, became something deeper yet higher quality. We really felt like a team with Devima and that they had our company in their best interest.
Working late into the night, they were willing to zoom conference with us at 3 AM their time to make sure that emergencies were taken care of. They were able to get pixel-perfect designs on our website working with 25+ pages on the front end.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We communicated via zoom and slack with Oleh. He was the head of our project and we communicated with him on a daily basis and gave us updates of our sites ranging from large to small.
They seem like they can really make anything work per your request. If they aren't super familiar with it, they will work hard to figure it out and become professionals with that software or tool.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
1. Their ability to communicate well, and clearly define the issues and hand and pose potential solutions and benefits to those problems.
2. They never complain if you ask them to get a project done, or if you have a special request using a tool they aren't familiar with; they will get it done.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The beginning was a little difficult regarding communicating the entirety of our project so we had to re-evaluate pricing. That part was kind of tricky and wasn't the best start, but that could have also been on our end being able to clearly define what the project entailed. However, they were good and working with us on compromising and making the process easy.
