Within the first month with Devima Solutions, I noticed a big improvement in the site quality, so I continued building new functionality with them, then added an IOS app design and development. After the site is developed, I am asking them to maintain it going forward.

We are developing a portal for our suppliers to use so that they can manage products, orders, shipments, and analytics easily when selling on our marketplace. Every marketplace needs such a portal. This could help us minimize the administrative tasks when operating the marketplace.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have meetings, including constant meetings and additional meetings, when we need to solve things efficiently. At each meeting, there will be demos, and you could also log in to your software to try out the things. We are not using a waterflow project management method; we could try the software after each sprint, so it is very easy to see the progress by yourself.

Yes, they deliver items on time, and the team responds promptly. Whenever you need to discuss the business model and features, just text on Slack is fine. You could talk to the devs and PM. I don't micromanage because of my personality, so the team has been working efficiently, and the outcome so far is 100% what I want. If there are more things that need to be discussed, you could meet them on Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think Devima is a boutique tech firm, they are not as large as EPAM, of course, but the team is product-driven and tech-driven. They are problem solvers. I think the communication is good because they know what is going on; everyone is in the same channel. They have good young talents, and they have a flat structure. I feel like we are working with an in-person team, although we have 5-hour time differences. As a startup, I think it is very crucial.

I think nope. Very good company.

I’m an executive at a venture studio that incubates business ideas, especially in the tech industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Devima Solutions?

We needed a good development partner to work on a web application’s MVP. My goal was to find a partner that could operate autonomously without a lot of day-to-day guidance and within a reasonable budget.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Devima Solutions has developed two web apps’ MVPs using specific cloud services, including AWS for the backend. We had initial discovery calls to discuss our project’s concept and ideas. 

I initially hired them to do a test project to understand how they work, their invoice system, and other things that I find important when engaging with a company. After Devima Solutions had completed the test project, they defined the project’s phases and broke them into actionable sprints. 

The app’s main functionality has been to work as an online marketplace and had a payment integration with Stripe Connect, which was one of its core features. This marketplace has been built on top of a questions and answers platform, where users can ask questions and submit video answers. Devima Solutions has also developed an additional app’s MVP to manage the video processing. The app also has integrations with Apple and Google for single sign-ups and another integration with TikTok and Sendinblue for emails. 

What is the team composition?

I've interfaced with a total of six teammates from Devima Solutions. My three primary points of contact have been Oleh (COO), Dmytro (CTO), and Svitlana (Frontend Developer). 

Moreover, the designer I had previously worked with has also integrated into the team since I had an existing working relationship with them.

I searched for development partners on Clutch and talked to five other companies besides Devima Solutions. I asked all the companies to work on the same test project and ended up choosing Devima Solutions.

We our ongoing partnership began in  July 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I've had a great experience working with Devima Solutions and have been very happy with the project’s results. Devima Solutions has been fast to understand my project’s concept, and their engineering skills have been high-quality.  

This han't been an outcome-based project, it has been more important for me to develop the product, and the main goal has been to create an MVP and test the concept. However, the MVPs have ultimately failed the test, and we've winded down that product. 

Overall, Devima Solutions has been the best partner I’ve ever worked with — I plan to work with them again.  

How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Devima Solutions has completed everything I asked for in a timely manner. They've been good at addressing my concerns and resolving problems. 

We've used email, Slack, Discord, and Google Meet to communicate with Devima Solutions, and they've been very responsive. We've also used Jira for project management. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have been most impressed with Devima Solutions' communication and responsiveness. The biggest issue I had when I interviewed other companies for this project was that there usually was a lot of bureaucracy in their communication process, and I had to talk to several teammates. 

I found out that many development companies put a lot of focus on their sales process and end up being really good at selling but not so good at software development.

Whereas Devima Solutions’ communication stands out, they could've improved their sales process.

We wanted to rebuild our website but didn’t have enough team members to dedicate to the project, so we engaged Devima Solutions to help us. Our primary goal was to increase our organic traffic and SEO placement.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Devima Solutions has rebuilt our website from the ground up. To start, we shared our original website with the team so that they could understand the structure and main conversion points. We also outlined our requirements for the new website, including the content, our target audience, and our desired functionality for different devices. 

Initially, we planned to delegate the entire project to Devima Solutions, but we ended up hiring more design resources internally, who worked in tandem with them to design the UI/UX. Then, the Devima Solutions team moved on to the development stage, utilizing a Next.js framework and TypeScript. During the development process, they also implemented a solution to ensure a fast page-loading speed and integrated the website with a CMS. After developing the site, they provided temporary hosting services.

We haven’t launched the site yet, but the Devima Solutions team has completed each step they were responsible for. They’ve since shared their code with us, and our team has been working on finishing the website ourselves.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We haven’t released the website yet, but Devima Solutions has fulfilled all our requirements, and we’re excited to launch it. They’ve exceeded my expectations regarding the quality of the code, which is very well-written. We faced some minor design issues, but they fixed them quickly after we expressed our concerns. Overall, we’ve been pleased with the website; it loads quickly and is fully responsive on desktop and mobile. 

How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Devima Solutions has managed the project well; we’ve worked iteratively, completing the project one page at a time. We’ve met regularly to keep track of progress, and they’ve been responsive to our questions and concerns. Since we’ve mainly interfaced with one point of contact, communication has been seamless via Slack.

We faced one slight delay at the beginning of the engagement, but it resulted from a block on our end. Apart from that, the team has consistently delivered each iteration on time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This project has been my first time working with a third-party service provider, so I don’t have much to compare them to, but I’ve been satisfied with the work. The team has been very professional, and I’d certainly work with Devima Solutions on other projects moving forward.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Aside from postponing a few meetings, Devima Solutions has been a good partner.

I suggest working iteratively through each project phase and trusting Devima Solutions to deliver. As long as you provide clear feedback, you can count on them to take full ownership of the project with minimal supervision.

Devima Solutions provides resources to help us develop software; they’re building upon software I developed from scratch. We use Vue.js for the frontend framework for the development, and the backend is in PHP with a Symfony framework. Their UX designer uses Figma for the design. 

Our software product is a goal management platform that allows teams to agree and set goals to meet. There is also a section to write down quarterly goals. Users can also input their company’s mission and vision.

Our team is really small, so Devima Solutions’ resources have been able to double our size. Our entire in-house team has been blown away by the quality of the software Devima Solutions is developing and the speed at which they deliver. Their speed is great because we’re a young company that needs to move fast; it’s great to have a partner that can match our pace.  

How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

We manage the projects ourselves and make sure we communicate clearly with Devima Solutions. We use Asana, but are moving on to using our software product, which has sped up our iteration times because we’re working within our product and can identify areas for improvement. 

Their team is easy to communicate with — if there are issues, we convey them via Slack. It’s as easy to communicate with them as with our in-house team. Devima Solutions provides us with a comprehensive list of their hours every month that includes the tasks their resources have completed. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Devima Solutions is very knowledgeable and uses that knowledge to improve our product. We don’t have to plan everything out in detail in advance. Their team turns around projects quickly and integrates well with our team. 

Their manager, who schedules developers and manages our contract, accommodates our needs perfectly. For example, when we needed a backend developer, we had a candidate a day after sending an email request for one. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything for them to improve. I always feared we’d have a bad partnership with an external development team, but Devima Solutions is fantastic.

New customers should schedule a call with Oleh to see if he has any specific recommendations for developers for a certain project. Their team can always find the right resources for a job.

I’m the managing director of Geisted, a new ecosystem for Web3 assets. We have our own marketplace and other elements of the space.

We needed help building our Web3 assets marketplace.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company has three key elements: our technology, our marketplace, and our smart contract system. Devima Solutions has been in charge of the backend development of our marketplace. We also have our own collectible system, and Devima Solutions is now designing an engine that creates unique collectibles from a set of designs.

Our Web3 marketplace allows artists and collectors to have profiles. We provide these artists with the technology to create NFTs, and we can use the platform to do auctions.

We’ve worked with 7–8 people from Devima Solutions, including three main points of contact: the CTO, a project manager, and the lead developer.

We started working together in October 2021, and we’re still engaged. We finished the MVP, and we’re now adding some more features. We will continue working with them on a smaller scale for the next two months.

Devima Solutions’ work is really good. Overall, the value for the price is good, the timelines have been realistic, and they’ve accomplished everything almost as planned.

How did Devima Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

Devima Solutions is extremely committed, and they’ve delivered on time. Furthermore, their communication is really good, and they’re very responsive. It doesn’t matter when I send them a message or an email; they always respond quickly. As far as communication goes, we use our own Slack channel to communicate, as well as Jira and Confluence to manage sprint cycles. Additionally, all the code is uploaded to Bitbucket.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Devima Solutions is based in Ukraine, so our project has been challenging due to the Russian Invasion. Still, I can’t believe they’ve managed to deliver, considering the situation they’ve been going through. They’ve been amazing throughout the entire process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’m amazed at their performance considering the circumstances in their country.

I would highly recommend Devima Solutions. I can’t provide any specific advice because there are always two sides to every relationship, so you just have to build up your own relationship with them. For us, their work ethic and the results they’ve provided have been helpful in creating a good relationship.

To make our job portal a reality, they're using React, AWS, Figma, and more. The team now continues to further develop it.

Our job portal is a marketplace for US sales and business development talents, so employers can go to our portal and get matched with a sales or business development professional. On top of that, they can use the platform to conduct their interviews and sign a contract together.

I’ve been extremely happy with the engagement and thrilled to be finishing the project on September 3, 2021. In addition, all of the demos I’ve seen so far are exactly according to the specifications we set. As a result, our site runs quite smoothly already. The codebase they’ve created is structured really well because they use the latest programming techniques and languages.

They have good communication skills, and they have a great project management process — allowing them to complete all our sprints. In fact, they’re very responsive on Slack. Our company is building a location-based content sharing platform. We are also working on the development of PAAS backend infrastructure tools. I was leading the projects and working directly with Devima's team.

In order to launch new versions of both web applications, we needed support from a front-end team.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Devima along with several other dev-shops. During the interview process, we were impressed with Devima's expertise and decided to partner with them. We first discovered them on one of the freelancing platforms.

We had weekly meetings during which we planned 2 weeks sprint. The scope was not pre defined, instead we would agree on the scope of the next 2 weeks etc. Devima's team was using React for both web apps. Technologies: Javascript, React, Node.js, Postman, Google Cloud, Vercel. Some of the features were the text editor, implementation of server side rendering, feed, SEO optimization, video player, live-streaming etc.

We worked with one full-stack developer, and had monthly contact with their management team on administrative matters.
