For security purposes, our site promotes the specials and deals but we don't process any payments. When a subscriber has interest in a particular coupon, they click and get redirected to the merchant’s website.

My main point of contact was the project manager. The first person I spoke to was from the sales department. They had 3–4 people working on my project including server specialists, developers, and designers.

Up to this moment, we’re at 100% positive feedback. I'm so happy with Dev Technosys. They're reliable, professional, and hard working. Every one of my requests was taken into consideration.
How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?
The time difference was a concern. However, they’d always stay late when my working hours didn't match theirs. They made sure that my project was going forward. Most of my communication was through the project manager, primarily through Skype and then some email. I had no language concerns with the project manager. He was great at getting as much information as possible from me so he could understand the concept and details to share with the team. Everyone was so nice. I had no problems whatsoever with this company.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Everything about them was great to be honest. I got 100% support from their team. They assuaged any concerns I had about making my project successful. They excelled at design and development, at fixing or updating things, and at communication. They did a very good job in all aspects.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only issue was the time difference and its impact on communication. I can’t expect them to get back to me at three o'clock in the morning. Besides that, I don't have anything that I would recommend they change.

Our product is an on-demand management system for Airbnb and booking. The customers we serve are homeowners who rent. Through our website or app, customers can book services like online check-in and check-out, cleaning, and scheduling times to show their home.
Dev Technosys developed the frontend and backend of the website, and sections for the super admin and sub-admin, and iOS and Android apps. The application has the same booking process as the website.
As the super admin, I can use the sub-admin to designate managers worldwide wherever the service is activated. Every sub-admin can decide on their own prices and fees independently. When users input an address with a zip code on the frontend, the system shows active results in the area including related services and prices.
The complex backend allows for full customization, which is the most important functionality Dev Technosys developed. Every update is mirrored on the apps which allow customers the options to use the website or mobile platforms similarly.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re continuously making changes and improving quality on specific pages. About 50% is completed concerning speed and other features. Their approach to fixing bugs in the last phase as opposed to fixing them in the middle of the project is an excellent technique.
How did Dev Technosys perform from a project management standpoint?
My assigned project manager is outstanding. Their team uses agile methodology and works in sprints delivering a majority of work on time. We use Zoho and sometimes meet at their office.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their excellent communication complements Dev Technosys' project management style.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There was an issue with UI that was resolved. I’d rather meet with the project manager before the design team. Dev Technosys could improve that process.

We engaged Dev Technosys to revamp our website in Magento 2.0 and to develop an e-commerce mobile application.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to migrate our e-commerce website from a no-longer-supported Magneto platform. The app and site also needed to comply with GDPR guidelines.

The team used a project management system called Zoho to keep track of progress. Our project manager provided updates and answered questions via Skype. The project ran smoothly from start to finish, and Dev Technosys delivered their products on time.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of a health and wellness mobile application. We provide a database of doctors, hospitals, and wellness centers for international travelers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Dev Technosys?
We engaged Dev Technosys to develop our iOS app and launch it on the App Store. We wanted the app to connect our pre-existing database to our target audience in a user-friendly way. We also wanted developers that understood our brand and what we want our product to achieve.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Dev Technosys was responsible for designing and developing the app. They promised to deliver a live version in three months and then submit it for the App Store’s approval.
What is the team dynamic?
My first point of contact was Yash (VP of Business Development, Dev Technosys) who worked in sales. I then worked with Satyendra (CTO, Dev Technosys), our project manager, as well as Tarun (CEO, Dev Technosys) and Mohit (Team Leader, Dev Technosys). Satyendra had to attend to a personal issue and left in the middle of the project for three months.
How did you come to work with Dev Technosys?
I first hired a developer from UpWork. After interviewing 30–40 developers worldwide, I settled on one, but the partnership fell apart; they didn’t understand our brand, our challenges, and our goals. I then looked to Clutch. I narrowed down a list of 10–15 developers, including Dev Technosys. I chose the Dev Technosys team because they had done work for large organizations, their quote fell within our budget, and they seemed to understand our vision and project goals.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent $3,500–$4,000 on their services. I paid in increments for each part of the development.
What is the status of this engagement?
I worked with Dev Technosys from March–October 2018.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
How did your relationship with XYZ Company evolve?
Problems arose from the get-go. The initial designs Dev Technosys submitted to us didn’t meet our standards, prompting me to hire another developer to double-check their work. Once Dev Technosys started the development stage, the project experienced constant delays and shifting personnel. At one point, Dev Technosys claimed that my App Store account was expired and that I needed to upgrade to a developer account for $300. When I reached out to Apple, they told me that my initial individual account never expired and that my business did not require a developer account. When the team finally delivered a beta version, it was full of bugs.
What problems arose and what did XYZ Company do to address them?
The App Store repeatedly rejected the app, and Dev Technosys did not fix or acknowledge what caused the rejection. The follow-up developer we hired found additional issues—particularly with the login feature and payment processing—that Dev Technosys never told me about. The app also experienced frequent crashes during demonstrations with interested parties and investors, much to my embarrassment. I stopped paying Dev Technosys when they seemed to have ended work on the app, and I formally ended our partnership when I no longer felt that I could trust them.
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.
Dev Technosys took three months longer than expected to deliver an MVP that didn’t work. As a result, I lost 6–7 months of development time and lacked a working product to show interested parties and investors. I paid $15,000 for a separate user data aggregation API that I haven’t even used yet because the app hasn't launched. As soon as I saw Dev Technosys’s designs, I hired another developer to double-check their work; this cost an additional $3000 that I hadn’t planned for. The secondary developer will finish the app and all testing within the next two weeks. We’ll resubmit the app to the App Store for approval.
How was project management handled?
Our project lacked consistent leadership, and Dev Technosys switched our project manager multiple times. Whenever I had an inquiry, the team frequently redirected me, claiming that my question didn’t fall under their responsibilities. I had to beg for updates on project progress. I also received code in a zip file rather than a more professional tool such as GitHub or Bitbucket.
My new developers call me every day for five minutes to update me on the work they’ve completed and the tasks they’re going to tackle next. I didn’t have that experience working with Dev Technosys.
In what specific areas can they improve?
Erratic and ineffective communication was a hallmark of the relationship. Dev Technosys missed key details throughout the project, demonstrating a seeming lack of care and accountability. Their sporadic updates gave me only a partial understanding of their progress.
What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?
Make sure your developer understands your ideas, your brand, and your goals thoroughly before getting involved with them.
Company Responses
We would like to state that project failure was due the client's poor project management. We advise all clients to hire good project manager, and offered them an experienced manager, but they wanted to do it themselves. They had two teams working simultaneously on the project without a project manager.
They frequently changed project requirements without consulting us, but still wanted to keep the same budget. When we disagreed, they threatened to leave a bad review. Our upper management started to work on this project to make the process smooth, but other developers, who they said they hired from UpWork, failed to deliver. We fully refunded the client on our end.
Regarding issues with the App Store, the client had difficulties because they tried to use an individual account, through which Apple doesn't accept Firm Applications. Apple asked their team to submit details about his company, but they did not, so the application could not be posted.
We do not doubt the client's good intentions, but they were working outside of their expertise, and that is why the project failed.
