I am the CRO (Chief Revenue Officer - I run Marketing and Sales) of a B2B SaaS called Hypertrade. We develop data analytics solutions and a data collaboration platform + consulting for retail enterprises and their suppliers.

Our website was created several years ago with limited resources and had become a bit outdated. Since our company has been growing and developing a strong brand internationally, we needed a PRO designer who really understands what modern B2B SaaS websites are about, and gives our online presence the high quality it deserves.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I searched web designers on the internet using different freelancer marketplaces and online portfolio sites. Out of all the potential suppliers, we picked Emy because he seemed to have a strong background in B2B SaaS websites, with several superb-looking ones in his portfolio on Dribbble. He was highly responsive and could work with our 5 figures+ budget, so we went for it.

After a few calls/emails to agree on timeline, budget and deliverables, we kicked off and started sending Emy the wireframes I created for the website. In some cases my explanations about what we needed as visuals were detailed and easy to execute, but sometimes they were not that detailed, so I was afraid it would be difficult to turn them into a reality.

However, lack of details was never a problem for Emy, who did an awesome job turning brief explanations and technical concepts into visuals that are impactful and convey a lot of info in just a few seconds. The whole thing went pretty smooth, with not many back and forths needed and a great result that pleases everyone we ask.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We still haven't started to run online campaigns with this website, but all the feedback from our shareholders and other industry key players of our network has been superb.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their workflow was very effective.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Emy was speedy, responsive, never gave troubles to implement requested revisions, and was able to turn "non aesthetic" dashboard screenshots from our tool, into beautiful graphics to showcase on the website. That's what stood out to me the most.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No.

We’re a new organization with the intention of hosting a social platform related to athletes, athletic experiences, and athletic event organization. I’m the co-founder of the organization.

What challenge were you trying to address with MazePixel?

We hired them to address UI/UX designs, which are key to having a successful, fast solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

MazePixel split the project into three milestones. After looking at our scope, Emy (UX Designer) recommended how we should split up the screens’ designs. He started with the user flows and then went into the details of the UI/UX design for each screen. He used Markup.io to share the screens, and we used it to add comments and collaborate. At the end of the project, Emy produced a Sketch file.

How did you come to work with MazePixel?

I found MazePixel through Dribble. Emy was responsive and had a robust scheduling platform, so it was easy for us to schedule a time to meet. I also reviewed his previous work through Dribble and read customer reviews.

We spent between $5,000–$10,000 on the project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began in August and finished the project in October 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We met the milestones as intended, so the project and the screens moved fluidly along the timeline. Throughout the project, I reviewed the quality of the screens and whether or not they accomplished what I intended. We also measured success by the turnaround time to address any questions or modifications.

How did MazePixel perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Slack to collaborate. The deadlines were spot on, and the milestones were equally split. We didn’t have to rush to finish the last ones. Communication was great too.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by the quality of the screens as well as MazePixel’s communication and turnaround times.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any recommendations for improvements at this time.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Provide as much detail as possible in the scope. It’s definitely a must to define expectations and the scope prior to starting a project.

I am the CTO for an International Cultural Exchange Organization with bespoke software.

We worked with MazePixel to undertake a UI assessment and redesign of our search interfaces.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to introduce a range of features which would improve the usability of a key interface and the productivity of our team members.

We found MazePixel on Clutch.io and selected them after a round of meetings with design firms.

One we selected MazePixel we had a series of meetings to ensure there was a clear understanding of the project. From there MazePixel provided a series of wireframes to ensure that all functionality would be available on the screen.

Once we had reviewed the wireframes with stakeholders and made the appropriate changes MazePixel produced a mockup of each screen and state.

These mockups were provided along with user stories developed inhouse for our developers to create an interactive styleguide and the necessary instructions for upgrading the relevant parts of the system.

MazePixel worked with a dedicated project manager who interfaced with the rest of the stakeholders and team members within the organization.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The redesign has been implemented in the styleguide and we have begun distribution throughout the system, stakeholders are extremely happy with the improvements this design has brought to their processes and were able to imagine further optimizations as a result of seeing the new way of working.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The domain we work within is incredibly complex and our goal was to avoid overwhelming mazepixel with too much information about the entire system as a whole. Communication and planning went very well, MazePixel was available for planning and feedback sessions and provided turnaround very quickly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

MazePixel is very efficient and skilled at their work. The project went forward without any issues and provided a great framework for future work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

With a domain this complex it's impossible for a consultant to not know what they don't know. We were able to ensure that areas of misunderstanding were quickly rectified, though perhaps better communication upfront from ourselves would have reduced confusion.

We hired MazePixel to help us design a lead generation tool we built for our main product. The tool helps writers come up with ideas on blog posts to write.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to create a design that was both professional and visually compelling. Our tool uses a new AI technology so we want to both showcase the power of the technology and also make it approachable enough for a non-technical user to feel excited about using it.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I searched Dribbble for top designers.

I created wireframes and notes within a collaboration tool called BeeCanvas, and then sent the notes to Emy. He very quickly got back with the designs and we went through a revision round.

The team was composed of myself and Mazepixel.

We have yet to launch the tool, so we don't have any concrete metrics yet, but the design is very clean looking and speaks for itself!

The workflow was very effective. We created a shared slack channel and communicated via chat.

What were your goals for this project?

Create a modern look and feel for the homepage that showcased our features. It was important for the design to look consistent.

The project was to update the design of the homepage with elements of product features. We wanted to showcase our features that were the highest value and help our customers self serve through the buying process.

The design looks amazing! We are really happy with the look and feel and the style of the page. We were able to move faster than I thought possible and it really came out great.

Very easy! We had a Slack channel where we would go back and forth and we were able to easily give feedback through Slack.

Very easy to work with. They were very professional, great design work and fast. A lot of design takes time but they were able to do great work at a fast pace.

We communicated mainly through Slack, Zoom, and Markup.io ― MazePixel's communication was clear and consistent. Not only did MazePixel meet all deadlines, they often beat them, providing us with mockups to show the client in advance.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

In 2020, I decided to create my own website.  I look for 3 things when doing business with a merchant:

1. Intelligence- Intelligent people understand the power of compound interest and look to create value for all parties involved.
2. Energy- People with energy execute well which, in turn, provides more value for all parties involved.
3. Character- People with this trait have an awareness of the fact that what goes around comes around, and they act with integrity and honesty.  

As Warren Buffett would say “ It’s hard to do a good deal with a bad person”. Emy focuses on the customer and is a pleasure to do business with because he listens to, anticipates, accommodates their needs. I can be very demanding because of my attention to detail but Emy hung in there and got the job done.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within a day of starting we received design concepts that satisfied all our requirements and indeed exceeded them. It's always difficult to communicate subjective design preferences but Mazepixel understood our needs perfectly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent workflow, predominantly via Slack and finished product shared via Zeplin. No communication issues at all. Very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They had the ability to nail the brief without the need for several iterations. This compounded itself as we grew to understand how we work together. Now we need to offer little to no guidance as Mazepixel understands our thought process.

Graphic design for a complex video editing app for brands and digital marketers. The app helps content creators to have more sales by increasing the engagement on their brand and social media channels effortlessly while maintaining their cost at minimum level.

I worked with just one person that was the UX/UI Designer and consultant in the same time.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

In just two weeks we were able to have an Interactive prototype in InVision and run 3 Usability Test on it. Now we are crafting our final design.

It it a real pleasure working with MazePixel! The team is very professional in all the aspect of the work. Very responsive to the client demand. We finished our first phase of the project in time.
