For what projects/services did your company hire createIT, and what were your goals?
For the platform to support company digital transformation and efforts to ease customer journey. The main goal is to increase customer retention and decrease operational costs by allowing the customer to perform a full self-service from making an order to receiving the invoice.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We made a thorough market scan, talking with at least five different vendors, 100+ employees, Polish software houses with highest clutch score or otherwise well received. We started the discussions having in mind out-of-the box solutions, but during the discovery phase, we understood that a custom-made platform will probably be less of a hassle for us. We came to the final conclusion by comparing not only three critical factors, like costs, estimated delivery time and experience in similar projects, but also the personalized approach that was at the heart of each createIT member we had an encounter with.
Other vendors presented a typical corporate attitude with small attention to details and risks, while createIT - since the beginning of our talks - picked up every small thing and explained to us why it matters and how it can influence project time and costs.

The process was divided into 2-week sprints with milestones set for each time period. Every sprint, there was a meeting to sum up the progress. SCRUM Project Management methodology was used for the management. During the project, we came to the conclusion that the dynamic changes that happen in the business can only be reflected in the platform with the use of Agile methodology, such as SCRUM. We tried to set up different milestones per quarter or half a year during the course of the project, but very often the business requirements changed in the middle and we needed to act accordingly. SCRUM worked perfectly for that.

Dedicated and competent team members who share knowledge and experience while being open to learn. They share feedback and help companies to improve internally. Also, they don’t try to sell something at each step of the way, which is really annoying with other companies. They look at our cooperation as a long-term relationship.

We then received various low-fidelity dedsign that helped us define our final needs. We then received a series of improved high-fidelity designs and the proper exports for them to be used by our team internally.

We received a dedicated Client Ambassador and Project Manager. The team also included two graphic designers, a UX designer and a QA specialist.

The platform is up and running and new players from around the world are registering every day. We are constantly improving the experience, introducing new features, and expanding the list of supported games. We have created probably one of the largest esports startups of 2021.

It is worth increasing the entire project flow by more frequent meetings and reports. As a result, the flow of information will be even better and both parties will have the same level of knowledge about the progress of the project and possible time threats.

CityTalks is the author of the mobile application which, based on the latest technologies, is an interactive guide to selected cities in Poland. City Talks professional historians and travel guides have identified these events and described the stories of fascinating objects and places around the cities.
The app is providing the audio travel guide consisting of a mobile app and a web platform. The system notifies users while they are passing a historical spot around the city in order to encourage them to listen to the story of the given place.
For what projects/services did your company hire createIT.com?
createIT was responsible for the design, programming and implementation of a system solution consisting of a Web platform, mobile application (Android and iOS native apps) as well as a comprehensive CMS platform to manage the contents sent via API to the mobile app and the Web platform.
What were your goals for this project?
The city is the people who create it. This is the belief which has made us create the City Talks start-up. We wanted to give the voice back to the city residents, so we have collected their memories, experiences, stories, emotions, photos, sounds… and assembled them into City Talks city audio stories.
We knew that in order to meet our goal we needed the right specialists - professional historians, travel guides and lectors to gather credible and amazing contents, and the right IT specialists such as createIT for the software implementation.
How did you select this vendor?
We wished to work with a company that had experience both on the local market and on the international scale. createIT was recommended to us by one of our employees. Very quickly, we were able to find common ground and transform our goal into a technological language needed for our solution.
Describe the project in detail.
createIT helped us kick off our project with some brainstorming sessions. Accumulated knowledge of our needs and multi-faceted team experience allowed us to scope the City Talks idea.
At the end of this process, a detailed SRS documentation was prepared by createIT to make sure all parties understand the way the system was going to be implemented, its goals, features, and technical details.
The final platform was built based on the combined technologies. System Architecture: REST API, JWT, OAUTH2. Stack: ObjectiveC (iOS), Java (Android), Symfony (PHP)
What was the team composition?
The project was managed by createIT PM but the whole team stood behind him (UI/UX specialist, system architecture, devops, graphic designers, web and mobile app developers, quality assurance specialists, application testers)
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The solution that createIT created for us is the heart of our business. The application has been gaining more and more interest and we hope for its further development.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
For us, the most important person in the project was createIT PM, gathering our needs, and passing them further along to the technical team.
There were some bump-ups in the system implementation phase (the differences in the construction of the iOS and Android platforms caused some issues with the API integration with the Android version of the mobile app.
The Android version had to be modified towards the API integration). But createIT met the final deadline, and all along the project they were in contact with us informing us about the progress.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The ability to be a real IT partner for the client, with their high sense of understanding the non-technical client’s needs, and addressing their doubts.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Along the project there were some timeline shifts due to the Android platform limitations which surprised the Android developers at createIT, maybe it could have been scoped safer in terms of the timeframes. However, on the one hand our time was very limited and createIT wanted to meet our needs.
On the other hand I am not sure it is possible to foresee this kind of edge-scenarios before the real investigation and digging in the application.
While no measurable outcomes were shared, the client still lauded createIT for their excellent communication. The outputs underwent QA processes before their final delivery, and regular meetings were held to ensure quality results from the team. Their professionalism made them stand out.
