I'm a digital consultant for an International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) school in Indonesia. I help with the digitalization of the school's services and understand what can be improved in terms of IT infrastructure to improve productivity and efficiency.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chakor?

We identified a lot of time wasted on manual data entry, including duplicate entries from parents filling out paper forms and then having to import that onto a spreadsheet. We also identified a lot of back and forth from WhatsApp information to input into the spreadsheet. This all resulted in a disjointed and fragmented database among the different school departments.

Moreover, we found that sometimes data was either missing or duplicated. At our school, it was difficult for different departments to get a sense of students' application status because someone might have forgotten to update the information or there had been a lapse in communication from parents. We wanted to fix our manual entry, fragmented data, and lack of transparency issues. We embarked on a transformation project for the admissions system and hired Chakor. Some of our goals included real-time updates. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chakor is developing an in-house admissions system. We started the process by providing documentation from the school's end. I provided the team with all the use cases and led the team in designing the platform and functionality. The Chakor team has also contributed use cases I hadn't considered in the initial UI design. Chakor is translating that work into a no-code tool using Bubble. 

Chakor has designed the database and the workflows for how the system's UI will interact with it. The team has also handled all the needed integrations. For example, they integrated the system with Jotform for the forms users will need to fill out and a payment gateway to help parents make payments immediately. 

The team has also built email and notification-related features, roles, and permissions within the platform. Chakor is building a CRM for parents to submit their kids' school applications. The platform is missing some tweaks before it goes live. After launch, Chakor will provide us with four months of maintenance services; we're technically in that period based on the original timeline, and they'll help us resolve any issues and make changes to the system that might come up once our team uses it.

How did you come to work with Chakor?

I really wanted to use Bubble instead of building the app from scratch to make the process faster. I found Chakor on Bubble's recommended agencies list. I reached out to a few companies, and Chakor had a good reputation and many good reviews. When I called them, the team seemed to have a keen interest in the project, which was a plus. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around April 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Chakor has been able to supplement my expertise for this project. They understand what they need to build and have added email notifications, roles, and permissions within the tool, which I hadn't thought of before. Chakor created various rules within the platform that have helped meet the school departments' needs. The team has executed these features very well, which will go a long way because they'll benefit us while maintaining data security.  

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

They've been able to work in an agile manner and have been very accommodating. Our school is unique because we have our own workflow and processes. Initially, we had a notion of how to build the tool, but then we realized that might not be the best solution. Chakor has been open to making the necessary changes even though they resulted in a longer timeline.  

We originally thought the system could be completed in two months, but the timeline has been longer. Chakor has been a good partner and has continued to be available despite the extension of the timeline. At every stage of the process, Chakor shares an update, and I test it, share it with my team, and provide feedback. For every feedback session, we have a call, and Chakor has good availability.  

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to give a shout-out to Mohid, who acts as our product manager and project lead. He understands our business requirements and is very open to feedback. Despite a lot of back and forth and changes in requirements, he remains very adaptable and executes the project so that we can realize the admissions system we need. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chakor has a good Bubble license. The team also provided us with very detailed scope and quote documents during the initial process, distinguishing them from other companies that offered quotes that were lacking. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their QA process and use of project management tools could be improved. When I test their updates, I still see many issues and have to provide them with a lot of feedback, which takes a while.

Although Chakor always addresses all my feedback, I would expect every update to work well and not have as many issues. This could be because Chakor isn't testing these updates themselves and figuring out how to fix them, making sure the tool is clear of bugs before delivering. Instead, I act as their QA. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Come up with a clear idea of what you want to build and involve the stakeholders within your organization who will interact with your product; that's something I could have done better. If you have your team there, they can provide Chakor with feedback directly and will notice things you won't, so you can spend less time going back and forth with changes and documented requirements. Since I'm a business analyst and not the end user, there were things I missed.

I'm the CEO of a Parisian startup that builds software and hardware for car professionals to use, helping them in their journey pricing and remarketing used cars.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chakor?

We started our company in October 2022 and offered a web application, and we were pivoting to a mobile app to add features our web app didn't have. We needed help building our mobile app's MVP.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chakor built a no-code mobile app MVP for iOS and Android platforms using Bubble. After describing my needs, Chakor sent me a scope of work and a quote. Once I accepted the scope, the team added me to their Slack channel. The app had an overview feature that gave a dashboard of KPIs to professionals, including the number of cars, inventory, and gross margin for a set period of time. 

The app's main feature was to provide car data analysis, which did a deep inspection of cars based on the collected data from our device provided to professionals. We asked professionals to do a road test, and our device guided them and collected data in parallel. Our mobile app used AI to analyze the data and create a report detailing the main aspects and issues of the car, for instance, if it had a problem with the brake system.

I worked with a technical lead and a no-code developer. The technical lead worked partially on the project, and the developer worked full-time.

How did you come to work with Chakor?

I found Chakor on Bubble, the platform we were looking to build our MVP with. Chakor was certified on Bubble, so I reached out to them via the platform. A few days later, I met with a customer manager.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Chakor delivered a functional MVP that our customers are now using, which was exciting for us. The app worked perfectly, and Chakor delivered it in a short period of time, which was what we were looking for. We wanted to have this MVP to check some details from our web app's features so that we could go through iterations and modify the product eventually if needed. Chakor offered a smooth and professional process, and we've shared the MVP with five customers. 

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

The initial budget we received to develop this MVP was €40,000 (approximately $44,000 USD), and we ended up spending less than $5,000, a huge saving of money. Our deadline was demanding because I wanted to have the app up and running with our customers starting this week, and Chakor delivered it on time. We had a non-expensive product in a quick time. 

Chakor's communication was perfect via Slack, which was helpful because the team communicated what they'd work on every morning. Chakor called us directly if they had questions about the code, which was very cool because I have a French number. I proposed not to use project management tools since our scope of work wasn't big, and we collaborated via Notion. 

Chakor added bonus work, including the quick and free configuration of the mobile app. The team tested the app, and I also tested it before launching it. The team offered a professional experience and respected the scope of work.

Yahya's (Web Application Developer) work was great.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can't think of anything Chakor could improve at this moment. I will continue working with them. 

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I suggest being reactive since the first meeting you have with Chakor. It took the team one week to deliver the first catch-up, and I opted to contact them via their website or another platform instead of Bubble because it took me some time to figure out the platform. My recommendation is to contact Chakor directly.

When we started working with Chakor, we set a scope of two months. However, as the development progressed, we realized the project would take much longer than we had in mind. I liked that Chakor helped us achieve our goals and didn't back down from the project. Our project ended up lasting four months instead of two. 

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Although the original project's timeline increased, Chakor committed to the initial budget we discussed and maintained the same service level throughout the project. We communicated mostly through Slack and had meetings 2–3 times a week via Google Meet. Chakor shared designs on Figma, where we commented and left notes indicating the following tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chakor honored what they agreed on. If the team says they'll do something, they get it done and don't back down. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing particularly stood out.

I suggest spending more time gathering requirements at the beginning of the project. Our project consisted of two parts. In the first part, we didn't gather as many requirements as we should have. However, we gathered more requirements in the second part, as Chakor suggested, and the collaboration was smoother.

• App Functionality: To highlight sustainability claims in text, categorize them, and showcase the risk of greenwashing, and provide insights on why the category and risk was chosen. 
• Data Processing & AI training: To structure the raw data in a way that could train OpenAI and export JSON code. 
• Website Pages: Two main pages for the prototype were the Home and About page.
• Signup flow: Build a signup flow using Stripe and additional pages that enable this checkout process.

Deliverable: A fully functioning prototype that can be used to showcase the concept to potential investors and clients.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Ultimately, this prototype which Chakor built for us has already helped Clean Claims get accepted into a startup accelerator program. Without them and their drive to go above and beyond, this never would have been possible.

First and foremost, our partnership with Chakor has allowed us to grow our customer base, so we've been able to grow our number of clients and our revenue. In fact, our revenue has almost doubled since we started working with Chakor because we went from being a one-person team to a two-person team, so we were able to get twice as much work.

Our goal is to continue to add more engineers to our team as we grow. Chakor has allowed us to grow without worrying about the technical side of things as much.

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Chakor's work has been great in terms of timelines. We have our own project management system and processes in place, so I don't have to rely on Chakor as much for project management. Wahaj has come in and learned about agile project management. Therefore, our internal training plus our joint management systems have worked well in this regard.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Wahaj (Application Developer) works with me on a daily basis and supports me as a software developer and as a technical specialist when it comes to Airtable, Bubble, and Make. He has come in and become a sponge in terms of what I've taught him about our processes, the solutions we build, and how we service our clients.

The fact that he has come in and hit the ground running has been very valuable for us. He has helped us continue to grow, so we wouldn't have been able to get where we are without his help. Additionally, I would give a shout-out to Waleed (Application Developer), Annus, and Hamza (Co-Founders). They've been super helpful in managing our projects.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of Chakor's resources is outstanding. We went through multiple candidates before we hired an engineer through Chakor, and none of them had even close to the caliber of sharpness, creativity, and development discipline that Chakor's engineer had. Those traits are important for the kind of work we do. Overall, Chakor has an impressive ability to find talent that really knows how to develop software.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can only advise Chakor to continue to grow and work on their internal processes. They could continue to make their processes more streamlined and effective in terms of onboarding new resources, training them, and upskilling them. Other than that, there's nothing Chakor could improve on; they've done a great job so far.

the more organized you are, the more effective you can get and the more effective Chakor's services will be. All bottlenecks have been related to me and the lack of organization on my end.

When a customer needs a custom no-code app, we’re in charge of managing the project and developing the scope, but we outsource the actual development work to Chakor. Every app they help us build is pretty much built from scratch, using Bubble.io as our main development platform. Thus far, we’ve done 5–6 projects with them.

In addition to the no-code development work, Chakor has helped me with some basic UI/UX design work in Bubble.io. However, we now have an upcoming project where they’ll help me with actual UI/UX design work using Figma.

I originally found them through a Facebook group. In that group, we posted that we were looking for Bubble.io developers, and one of Chakor’s teammates reached out to us. We’ve been getting good feedback from our customers, which has been the most important result. Chakor has delivered quality work, so we haven’t experienced any bugs or crashes outside the regular issues for custom development projects.

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Chakor’s project management is very good. We communicate with them over Slack almost on a daily basis to discuss what we’re looking for, and we also have a weekly update call via Zoom. Moreover, we communicate via email. Whenever we have any issues with Chakor’s development work, they take care of those immediately.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Chakor works really hard to develop true partnerships with their clients. They’ve tried hard to become an integral part and an extension of our team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Although I don’t think that Chakor is doing something wrong on their end, I always have to keep an eye on how they enter addresses during the development process. This issue might be a cultural thing, but the way they enter addresses is different from the way we do it in the US.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do a test project like we did to vet them. Additionally, be very precise with your directions and set expectations early into the process to create a strong relationship.

I’m the founder and CEO of a startup. We’re developing software that helps service businesses scale their services and manage payments, bookings, and analytics.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chakor?

We wanted to build an MVP of an app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chakor has helped us build an MVP of a web app. First, we shared our existing wireframes and designs with the team. From there, we co-created a scope document, and they built the app from scratch using Bubble. The web app is mobile-responsive, and the Chakor team has integrated it with Razorpay. 

The app helps service providers manage their bookings. Users can schedule bookings, manage clients, and plan and manage sessions directly through the app. They can also collect payments, send payment reminders, and access an overview of how their business is growing and other essential metrics.

The team has completed the project's first phase, but they continue to help us monitor and fix bugs. We hope to continue working with Chakor on phase two.

I was looking to build our app’s MVP on Bubble, so I submitted an RFT request via Bubble’s website. Then, Chakor reached out to me, we had a conversation, and they seemed like a great fit.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We don’t have metrics, but Chakor has delivered incredible work; I can’t praise them enough. Both the inner core and UI have turned out beautifully. During the development phase, the team went all in to build the app in the best possible way, which we appreciate. We’ve shared the app with a few clients, and they’ve been extremely happy with it. 

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Chakor is by far one of the most organized and thoughtful teams I’ve ever worked with. Not only are they great engineers, but they’re also great problem solvers. They really feel like part of my team. Finding an agency who delivers high-quality work at a cost-effective rate is almost impossible; Chakor does just that.

The team has gone out of their way to understand the project scope and provide helpful suggestions for the UI design and logic flows. They’ve also willingly accommodated requests for features that are out of scope. Communication is always spot-on; they’re always available to help us. We keep in touch via Slack and meet via Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been impressed by the amount of time and thought Chakor has dedicated to the project, given that it’s an MVP and they have other clients. Moreover, they make an effort to find long-term solutions for bugs rather than short-term hacks. I like that they make intentional decisions while keeping our users’ best interests in mind; it’s unique.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing Chakor could improve on; they’ve done an excellent job.

I am CEO. We are building an online marketplace to connect underutilized agricultural capital and skills (equipment and operators) with the aging farm owners. Our software connects, assists in communication, scheduling, workflow capture, and payments.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Chakor, and what were your goals?

Chakor built our MVP mobile application for Android and Google using Bubble. The goal was to develop a low friction registration for potential users, then to provide matchmaking based on their criteria such as geolocation search and type of equipment. Once matched, there is an online chat allowing potential matches to chat, send documents and provide a final quotation including our fee's. Once hired a workflow is established for the service provider to check into a job, potentially add a change order including more money. Finally, they need to check out of a job providing pictures or documents for completion. This is all connected to Stripe for auto payments as well. So once complete, autopayment takes place.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I interviewed 4 potential vendor's some in the states, some in S Asia. Chakor stood out as they were the only company with a reasonable price that also asked good questions. They truly wanted to understand the product before providing a price and getting me in the door. I was very confident they understood my not so great specifications and could execute after interviewing....then their price came in at a very competitive rate and was a no brainer for me to go with them.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

I provided a rough figma of the app screens for a specification. They were to deliver a working app on Android and iOS using the bubble framework. Technical needs we had were integration of google and stripe api's. Challenge with matchmaking utilized gps. All of this completed in 6 to 8 weeks.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I had one full time individual from their team. He reached out to others if necessary, but basically handled is all himself as a bubble developer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I had some specification adjustments along the way so project ended up closer to 10 weeks, but Chakor released it successfully meeting all of my original needs plus my specification changes. It was fully released on Android and iOS successfully.

We used slack heavily. For bugs/issues list we used notion. Chakor was open and willing to use tools that worked for me.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They ability to communicate clearly, truly understand the entire scope of the project and to execute well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had some issues getting the app on iOS due to what we believe was using a bubble domain instead of a domain associated with my company. Once we did this, apple accepted.

The core metric for our engagement’s success is Chakor’s turnaround time; we’re pleased by how fast they can develop and deliver. We’ve also tracked the number of iterations and bugs. So far, we’ve had no critical bugs in our LMS; we’ve only had small bugs in areas we didn’t anticipate.

How did Chakor perform from a project management standpoint?

Chakor’s project management is good, and they’ve been very responsive. We use Slack for regular communication and Zoom for our stand-up and weekly meetings. Moreover, we use Notion for task management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The fact that Chakor is a certified Bubble.io developer is outstanding. There are very few Bubble.io experts in Asia; a year ago, there were only five of them. Thus, Chakor has a unique capability, which is great. When there are few experts in a particular field, people don’t expect high-quality work because they don’t have many competitors. However, Chakor’s work is also very good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good if they could hire a design expert in-house.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Evaluate the platform properly. Bubble.io is a very different technology, so anyone that wants to work with it should definitely evaluate it thoroughly.
