I’m the CEO of Setal Television, a social media platform similar to Netflix or YouTube.

What challenge were you trying to address with CelerArt?

We needed someone to help us with design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve done 25 projects with them. We’ve created a pitch book with them for venture capital funds, as well as created the UX design for several platforms. We’ve also done UX design for the iOS and Android apps. They developed a brand book and several logos as well for our business.

Initially, we wanted to create something special for the venture capital pitches. We wrote all the text, and CelerArt created the design for the pitch book. It’s a pitch deck of nine slides, and they integrated all the design and came up with the pictures and everything to present the information.

We also approached them with other ideas. For example, we wanted to create a landing page and told them what the UX should be like. We gave them all the authority to provide the whole design. After they provided the design, we commented on it, and they made improvements until the product was perfect. Then, we deployed it.

We communicate only with the founder of the company. There’s a bigger team behind him.

How did you come to work with CelerArt?

We were working with a design company that we weren’t happy with and decided to look on freelancer.com. We’ve been working with them ever since.

We’ve spent $30,000–$50,000 so far.

We started working together in June 2017, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything has been very intuitive, which is why we’ve done so many projects with them. They deliver everything we imagine even above our expectations. We will continue working with them.

How did CelerArt perform from a project management standpoint?

The owner acts as our director and gets all the projects from us. We discuss it, and he delegates to his other colleagues. They’re always on point with deadlines. The communication is good as well; they’re always available. We communicate via Skype and Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s difficult to find a company like CelerArt because they actually focus on design. Usually, outsourcing companies have designers in-house that go along with their development team package.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had one incident where a backup of the source file got lost after six months. They were willing to reimburse it or recreate the designs. The only improvement is that they store the source file in a safe place.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should set a budget upfront. Usually, designers can work on a per hour basis, or, you can set a fixed budget. I’d encourage every customer to set a fixed budget so they know how much they will be spending.

Our website had not been updated since the company was launched 13 years ago, so we decided to update the platform along with our dated marketing collateral. To modernize our brand, we needed to find a talented web designer who could deliver modern artwork that fit our industry.

What was the scope of their involvement?

CelerArt’s initial task was to redesign the frontend of our WordPress site. They had access to our previous web design to use as a reference, but they ultimately produced an original design concept. After integrating their designs on the website, they started making fliers, business cards, envelopes, and other collateral. All of their work was created using Adobe Creative Cloud apps, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

They have about 10 people working at their agency, but we interacted with a dedicated project manager.

How did you come to work with CelerArt?

The first few web designers that we reached out to responded to us with mediocre work, so we searched for more companies on Upwork; we eventually found CelerArt. Although they weren’t the most affordable option, their design concepts were phenomenal, and they had excellent reviews.

We spent less than $10,000 for their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

CelerArt started working on the web design in December 2017 and completed the project within the same month. They continue to make small changes and additions to our marketing materials as needed.

Their great designs have made a significant and lasting impact on our business. The refreshed website has been well-received by existing customers, while the stylish new business cards are often commented on by new customers.

How did CelerArt perform from a project management standpoint?

They were incredibly easy to work with despite our long-distance partnership. Deadlines were never an issue. Upwork’s messenger system was our main channel for communication, but we occasionally used Skype for video conferences.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their sense of design is unrivaled, and their project management capability is excellent. We tend to be very demanding with our requirements and observant of small details, but they worked diligently without complaints until the quality of their work matched our high expectations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They only accept payments through Upwork, which can be difficult for us to navigate. In the future, they should consider adopting a wider variety of payment options.

Discussing the requirements in full detail at the beginning of the project is the best way to ensure accuracy. If possible, provide reference material that their team can use as a guide.
