BrightDock is developing a custom platform for building, managing, and scaling e-commerce sites for a management consulting company. They’re building the frontend, backend, and CMS from scratch.
The client has launched one website on the platform, and it has passed all performance tests. The quality of BrightDock’s development has amazed the client, and they’ve managed the project management seamlessly via a single point of contact.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a co-founder and managing partner of Leeos Merch. We run merchandise and e-commerce stores for influencers.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
Typical e-commerce platforms don’t scale well in the new age of influencer virality. Their server architecture can’t properly scale sites from 100 to 100,000 concurrent users.
Our project required building and integrating the frontend, backend, and CMS that we wanted. This project was large and complex — we run a lot of money through our stores. I spent over six months talking to different sources and e-commerce platforms and building sites on those platforms. Those existing solutions were just not quite where we needed them to be, so we hired BrightDock.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
BrightDock is building us a custom platform to control server architecture and scale smoothly, with no gap between services and tiers. They’re integrating that architecture with the site’s core components. Our goal is to build multiple sites and modify them on a quick flow via a single platform, all without having the site go down while scaling it to 100,000 concurrent users.
They’re building the entire platform from scratch, including server architecture. They’ve also designed and developed the frontend and the CMS panel, creating one system to run our multiple websites.
We tried many different developers and e-commerce services before partnering with BrightDock.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested €35,000 (approximately $38,000 USD) with BrightDock.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began this collaboration in October 2021, and the project is wrapping up now.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve launched one site on the platform, and it runs swimmingly. They’ve passed our pilot test with flying colors — the site has stayed up, and the server is stable. We’re launching one more site within the next week, and we anticipate similar results.
The quality of their development work is top-notch. I’ve never seen so few bugs in my life in such complicated development. For perspective, we typically run about €1.6 million (approximately $1.6 million USD) in revenue through our sites, so we’re not a small company, and this was a complex development project.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
BrightDock has managed the project flawlessly. We’ve had no issues with time, execution, or budget.
BrightDock walked us through the project, came up with a plan, set a timeline, established some costs, and then they began to execute like no one else. I’d rate them 20 stars out of 10 if I could.
We’ve run into features and contingencies that were more complicated than expected, so we did extend the timeline — but these things happen when you’re developing complex architecture. BrightDock has worked with the complexities in play, and they’ve been aces at sticking to our updated timelines.
Their communication is on point. I’m used to dealing with project management tools, but BrightDock managed the entire project flawlessly, and I coordinate with just one main point of contact. We’ve only used spreadsheets and email to communicate, and that has blown my mind.
Often with other developers, I’ve ended up doing piecework myself, but not with BrightDock. Their handling of the project, including the whole development team, has been very clean. Everything that they’ve said would be done has been done.
What did you find most impressive about them?
BrightDock has been 10,000 times better than any other developer I've worked with. They actually care about the project and execute it to perfection.
I’ve built many websites and worked with many developers ranging from freelance to full agencies. Development can be a painful experience, but BrightDock’s understanding of the process is beyond any other developer I’ve worked with, and they can actually get projects done. They put the project’s execution and the value of the tech first, and everything else — including the money — is secondary to them. They put the extra time in, their service is top-notch, and all of their work has been rock solid.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, and they actually delivered beyond our expectations. I see no room for improvement.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
BrightDock is so organized that you need to match that on your end. Take the time to do your research and dive deep into the specifications. Ask yourself a lot of questions and chat with the BrightDock team. They’re so knowledgeable that they can actually help guide the structure of your project without even being familiar with your business. They will take your requirements and execute your project perfectly.

The client submitted this review online.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your company and your position there.
ValCOACH is my coaching company
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
For what projects/services did your company hire BrightDock?
I asked BrightDock to create me a website that would express well who I am and what I do..
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I looked for web designers and came across BrightDock and their first contact with me was so personal and helpful, it seemed like a great match.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We had to design the website, get the right look and feel, and then make it happen. And then of course, maintain it.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
The owner of BrightDock was my main contact. He had different team members work with me depending on what the task was.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
My website is really really beautiful and really expresses who I am. I dont have a clue about technical stuff, so they have done all the heavy lifting and still hold my hand when I need it on something related. They have gone above and beyond consistently in helping me.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Really easy, fast and quick. And, I never, not once, felt like an idiot because I am not tech savvy.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
- The respect they gave me as a client, who knows her business and does not know web design. - The contact that was so fast, quick, easy for me to understand, and fun at times. - The end product. - The continued support when I get stuck
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They asked for feedback along the way so any issues or challenges or improvements were handled as we moved along. At the moment - none come to mind, which is just another way of saying - they really take care of their customers. I've felt valued at all stages of the process and even now after the project is complete.

BrightDock provides UI/UX design services to an alternative medicine company. They’ve been redesigning the client’s complete website page by page to make it easier to navigate.
Thanks to BrightDock’s great UI/UX designs, the client anticipates better conversion rates and user engagement when launching their new website. The team is responsive and accommodating, and they always stay within budget. They’re willing to make their clients happy and deliver what they want.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO, COO, and CFO of a small company that imparts alternative energy healing workshops. We have instructors and several practitioners around the world who teach our workshops. We also have a few online products, and we’re based in Hawaii.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
We needed UI/UX design for our website. Our site was very complicated, and I was trying to make it a little simpler to use.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, I sent BrightDock ideas of what we were looking for, as well as examples of what we liked and didn’t like. After that, we got started with the home page redesign, for which they gave us unlimited revisions.
We intended to do a complete overhaul of the website we had, but they ultimately did the redesign from scratch. During this phase, they gathered information about our business structure and our ideas, and they created the website based on that. They also changed the layout, colors, display, and more.
Throughout the process, they’ve provided previews through images and PDF files, but they’ve delivered the final designs as XD files, as requested by my developers. They’ve also helped us with a few small side projects, such as the branding for one of our workshops and the design of a brochure, but that wasn’t part of the initial contract.
For this project, I focused on making the site easy to use, so I provided them with very specific requirements for each page and certain functions. While they started their work based on several ideas and guidelines, they’ve done a lot of creative work on it as well.
The website has an event feature where visitors can find workshops near them, and we also offer virtual workshops because of COVID-19. Thus, it has a fairly complicated UI that allows users to filter by language, event type, date range, location, and more.
Our site also has an online store with different categories and a shopping cart. Additionally, it has a back-office portal where customers can view their online products, a list with the practitioners or instructors, and all of the workshop materials they need. Finally, there’s a newsletter signup section. BrightDock has worked on the UI/UX design of all those features.
What is the team composition?
I’ve only been working with Mateo, who acts as the project manager and our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
I got different recommendations and read different reviews of various designers, and I liked BrightDock’s the best.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around March 2021, and our project is ongoing. We’ve been doing it page by page.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re getting ready to launch the website with the new design next week. I anticipate a better conversion rate because now we’re going to have a better sales funnel. Our site is now also easier to use, so I anticipate great success.
Everyone I’ve shared the site with has loved it; they say it’s beautiful and much easier to use, and it has brighter energy. We’re all really excited to launch it next week — they did a great job!
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
BrightDock has definitely been within budget. My point of contact always waits for my feedback and is very responsive. They’re also very accommodating. We’ve had as many revisions as I’ve wanted, so I’m very happy with that process. We communicate over emails, which is easy.
What did you find most impressive about them?
BrightDock is willing to make their clients happy. They revise things to make sure that I get what I’m looking for. I can change my mind several times, and they’re always very accommodating; I think that’s awesome.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t think of anything they could improve on. I’m very impressed with their work.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Get really clear on what you’re looking for and how you want things to function on your website. They’re really great to work with.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm the CEO of two eye clinics, one in Lichtenstein and one in Switzerland.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
Our clinic in Lichtenstein is ten years old, and we had to put up a newly updated website that featured all of our services. We have to do the same for the new clinic in Switzerland, which we opened last year.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
BrightDock made a website from scratch for our company, which is what I wanted. In the beginning, it was an intensive back and forth of visions. They were patient with me because I had the picture of what it should look like, and they took the time to understand it, refine it, and apply it.
It was a long process, with 30–40 changes, until we finally put it online — it's a unique design applied to both of our sites. I went through many clinical web pictures, so I had a good overview of what our page should look like, which they applied to a nice WordPress website.
I wanted to avoid people being afraid of coming to our clinic and convey that it's like coming to a friend, family, hotel, or restaurant.
What is the team composition?
Charles (Manager) is our main point of contact, but we also work with 2–3 other people from their team.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
I found them through a freelancer platform.
What is the status of this engagement?
We made the first contact in December 2019, and the engagement is ongoing with current maintenance.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have people aged 60–70, and it's very remote here. Lichtenstein is a tiny country, so people don't come to us because of the website. We have to have it like a business card. For us, the website is just a business card.
With that said, we don't have any metrics, but we’ve received exceptional feedback from our clients; they say that our website is great, well made, and correctly presented — they're satisfied.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
It’s been perfect; they’re patient with my demands. They’re also a skilled team and manage great communication through phone calls and emails.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The kindness is outstanding — they’re professional, but it’s like talking to a friend, and that’s astonishing. I have a close relationship with them, and it's like doing business with a friend.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would’ve been better if they were in the same country to talk personally to them, but nothing they can change — their work is overall perfect.

The customer is extremely satisfied with BrightDock's efforts and performance and praises the team for their incredibly professional and effective work, clear communication, and attentiveness. The blog has met all of the client's requirements and has received great user feedback.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the sole person involved in a hobby website of mine called Tramposaurus Treks. It’s a blog that covers everything from trekking to adventure travel. My goal is for it to be a catalog of different travels around the world where I can share my experiences on trails and build a community.
There’s also an educational aspect to the trails. Users can learn a lot from the different places I travel to — like their people and their food.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
Before starting my collaboration with BrightDock, I had worked with two other web design companies. One of them almost gave me what I wanted; the site had interactive maps and was around 80% finished. However, at some point, they just stopped working on it and left me with an incomplete site that had a ton of dead links.
In order to get someone responsible, with a good reputation, and a high percentage of job completions and client returns, I paid a bit extra and hired BrightDock to use their web development and design services.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
BrightDock took a mockup I made along with several notes I gave them to found a way to make the site. I wanted the site to have a catalog of trails where users could filter search results by location, length, or difficulty. I also wanted a page dedicated to destinations and another one to personal stories.
The team built a theme called “Tramposaurus” and worked on the backend on WordPress. They gave me some direction on the content but were careful not to do too much because I’m very proactive in that area. They also sent a questionnaire asking me for information that they needed for the development process.
Finally, BrightDock sorted it all out and came back with a mockup. I made notes on it, and we’ve had a back and forth from there, over several months.
What is the team composition?
I’m not sure what the team size is, because I’ve never talked to the developers directly. My first contact was Mateo (CEO), and I started dealing with Sabrina (Director of Operations) after a couple of months.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
I paid a commission to a freelancer to pair me with a professional business, and that’s how I ended up working with BrightDock.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement started in April 2020, and we finished the main work in August of the same year. After a short hiatus, the team worked on the site again. BrightDock is still implementing some small changes.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Currently, the site is 99% exactly like I asked for and is very fast. I’ve had a lot of people in the business look at it, and they’re all enjoying the site.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
The staff has done a great job in terms of project management. They constantly respond and make updates on what they are working on. We use Whatsapp for communication, which allows me to post pictures and itemize lists.
What did you find most impressive about them?
For me, the most important aspect is the fact that BrightDock has been able to finish the job. Other designers never completed the site and left it with many missing functionalities.
I’m constantly asking the team for input on how we can make the website better, and they’re always supportive. I had an idea of what I wanted to offer to visitors, but, as a non-designer, my ideas might not have been the best from a UI/UX standpoint. BrightDock has helped a lot in fine-tuning my needs into something that is enjoyable for users.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’m always looking for new plug-ins that could help tell my story better, such as a special gallery page. I’d like to get more suggestions from BrightDock in that respect. They’ve followed my requirements to the letter, but I want to see what else can be done to the site.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
My advice is to not send them individual requests. I usually wait until I have a list of 10 changes or more, and then share them with the team. With any development project, there’s so much information going back and forth that an individual note can get lost.

Brightdock garnered overwhelming praise for the high-quality website they delivered. The client had received positive feedback from users and colleagues saying the website was modern and interactive. On top of that, Brightdock was client-centric, and they had a personal connection with the vendor.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a classical pianist and professor of music at a state college.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Brightdock?
The purpose of meeting a new website was that I had always used web portals where I could input the information. It was very simple to do because I didn’t need a computer background. I decided to have something more professional for my work as a freelance pianist, concert artist, and professor. I needed a website that could globally connect me to different parts of the world and art and encompassed me better in all the different facets of what I did. I also had specific projects in the arts, such as piano and multimedia that I wanted to advertise.
Most of the concert work I did before COVID-19 was in Europe, so I decided to find a European company that helped me do that.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I asked for a website with multiple pages. I wanted it to give the sense that I was doing many different things without overwhelming the people who were looking at me or products for performers and teachers.
I took a screenshot video of my old website and dropped it into Google Drive. I showed Brightdock the video, so they could see what the website looked like. From there, they asked me how I wanted the site to be different in the revamp. There was a lot more that I wanted to change than I even realized.
I provided Brightdock with the content, and they took content from my old website as well. From there, they made it more attractive. It was very simple to incorporate it into my new website. In addition, they also designed a small logo for me.
Brightdock developed a WordPress website. Initially, I thought we could use Wix but knew nothing about the website design industry. They chose WordPress because it had more advanced options to utilize on the frontend.
What is the team composition?
Mateo (Founder) was my main point of contact. Mateo referred me to his team through email to ask questions about the project. I only ever emailed him directly, so I didn’t know how many people were working on my website.
How did you come to work with Brightdock?
I found Brightdock through a website called Freelancer — I had never done anything like this before. I put a quote suggestion on the site, and Brightdock reached out to me. What I liked about them was that Mateo went to my old website and saw who I was. He told me how his company could help me and set up a Zoom meeting for us to talk. We talked for about half an hour with him.
I decided to hire Brightdock because it was a very personal connection. Other companies wrote very generically and quickly, saying what they could do for me, but Mateo seemed to direct things to me in a very personal way from the beginning.
How much have you invested with them?
I spent $2,000 on the whole project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2020. Brightdock finished the project in November 2020.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I wanted a professional, modern, and sleek look for the website, and that was what Brightdock delivered on the product, images, and vibe of the whole website, including many different facets. My colleagues who have gone on the website told me it was a lot better and more interactive than before. I’d also received 4–5 messages from users asking for more information.
Brightdock did around 90% of the work. Due to COVID-19 the arts industry had been on hold and suffered a lot — there hadn’t been any concerts. We had been all waiting and hoping to be booked and start next season. I dragged my heels for a few months and then started working on more content, such as photos and videos. I had to start to update things, and I had a lot of questions. I emailed Mateo and, within a couple of days, he wrote me back even though I already paid, which I really appreciated. He always helped me, and there was a lot of feedback.
How did Brightdock perform from a project management standpoint?
We always communicated through email. I didn’t have problems with Brighdock. Their work was high-quality. They made changes to the product if there was something that I didn’t love or want.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The best part of working with Brightdock was being treated personally. Sometimes, as a musician, there are people who may not understand what we do or aren’t interested in learning because the field is very specialized.
Brightdock was eager to understand what I needed from a personal point of view. Mateo knew that I wasn't computer savvy and this wasn’t my field, but he was very patient. That meant a lot.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It was awesome to connect with Mateo. He was very bright, and from the way that I understood our interactions, he ran a tight ship and had a good team. It wouldn’t hurt to know who was on the team. I didn’t need to connect with someone else, but Mateo could’ve introduced me to a person I could go to. It was nice to talk to the boss, but not necessarily for somebody like me. I could’ve talked directly to whoever was working on the project.
Any advice for potential customers?
The more you give Brightdock, the better. Give maximum detailed content and an explanation, so you can help them and their team can help you.

BrightDock is creating a website and mobile application for a social media startup. The team is building the app for iOS and Android systems, and they’re creating a website that has extended features.
The client is extremely happy with BrightDock’s services. The team hit milestones while being open about their difficulties. This has allowed them to develop a great relationship with the client, who appreciates their all-in-one service. They also listen well to the client’s change requests.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
My company is a social media startup, and it’s a one-man show.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
BrightDock is working with me on my business idea. I have a Ph.D. in AI, but I have no idea about programming apps and building websites. As a result, I needed a partner that could do that part for me.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
BrightDock is developing my app and website. The app is private and completely free — with no ads — while the website has extended features that are easier to use via a desktop PC. The app hasn’t launched yet on Google Play and App Store.
The idea behind this product is to reverse how people present themselves on social media. Generally, people want others to go to their profile and see what they’re doing there. This app turns that around, so instead of inviting someone to visit their profile, the user can send their profile directly to another person.
I’m not familiar with many technical details, but I know BrightDock is using PostgreSQL for this project. They’ve finished most of the work, but they're still working on a pop-up window that users see when they first use the app. It advises them about the legal consequences of using the product, and I’m working with lawyers to make sure everything is safe.
What is the team composition?
I work with 4–5 people from their team, including Mateo (CEO). I’ve worked with two project managers; one during the prototyping phase and a different one at present. Then, there are two programmers who give us technical advice and suggestions.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
I found BrightDock via Freelancer when I was looking for someone with iOS and Android skills, as well as programming experience.
I posted this project on the platform and said that I have €20,000 (approximately $23,700 USD) to spend on an MVP. Since the project cost that much, the platform gave me a personal consultant that helped me pick the right company. The consultant recommended three companies, and out of the three, I chose BrightDock.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, I’ve spent around €155,000–€160,000 (approximately $183,600 USD–$189,600 USD), including extra expenses.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working on the project in October 2020, and we’re still working together. They’ve finished the main tasks in February 2021, but I’m still working on some legal matters, which is taking time.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have milestones, and that’s how we typically measure success. However, it’s also important for me to get feedback from programmers. BrightDock developers tell me their difficulties, so I know that not everything can be done on all platforms.
Despite the difficulties, BrightDock still hits milestones. I can see that they dig deep into the code to know what’s happening, why it’s happening, and how complicated it is. These things are more important than the milestones we set.
Overall, BrightDock has good people who listen well and speak great English. I’ll keep on working with them, and there’s nothing I would ever change in our engagement.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
Working with them has been a really cool experience. Their website says that they listen to clients — and that’s what they actually do. They listen to me when I want to modify things as the project moves forward.
Moreover, I feel like Mateo is my childhood friend. We’re always on the same page, and it doesn’t feel like I’m talking to someone from another country. There’s been a strong connection between us from the first day onward.
I feel comfortable, and I’m extremely happy with my choice to hire BrightDock, so I continue working with them on this project even though I first hired them only to make a prototype.
What did you find most impressive about them?
BrightDock does web development, iOS and Android app programming, and web design — they’re an all-in-one company, and that’s great.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. I’m completely happy with BrightDock, and I’ll recommend them to other customers.

BrightDock provided redesign and branding solutions for a sports company. Their tasks involved auditing and redesigning the firm’s platform and helping them with the branding of the business.
The client was deeply impressed with the team’s work. The BrightDock team was thorough and professional in understanding the company’s challenges. Their management and approach to the project also resonated well with the client, who is planning to continue working with them in future projects.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of Global Sports Analytics, a technology company that provides basketball analytics to teams, leagues, and fans worldwide.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
BrightDock helped reimagine our solutions for change, which is called the GSA Edge, by conducting a full audit of our platform and providing new designs and ways of thinking about the value of our solution.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
BrightDock went through our vision and expectations as a company, delving into our experience with customers in the past as well as the feedback we've received based on earlier iterations of our solution.
They had access to Edge and went through it page by page to figure out what adjustments were needed, which buttons needed to be moved, and what needed to be designed in a way that was aligned with our customer profiles.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact was Mateo (CEO), and he connected me with their project leader. From there, we worked with 2–3 designers.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
Searching across all common channels, we looked for a team or a special individual that could help us with this project. Ultimately, we felt that Mateo’s energy, the brand they’ve established in Europe, and the work they’ve done in the past resonated with us.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We had our early conversations in December 2020, and the work is technically ongoing. Once we have a clear idea of what the next step is going to be, we’re going to partner with them again. We’re a recurrent customer at this point.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
BrightDock had a thorough process that gave them a clear understanding of our market and the challenges that our customers were facing. They started with a high note when they audited our solution, and the way they took their time before jumping into any ideas was also truly impressive.
We were thrilled with the decision we made and the process that we went through, so I was happy with BrightDock’s output. I’ll be finalizing the details of our next few projects, and we’ll be working with them.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
BrightDock was thorough and professional. We had check-ins every week, and I knew exactly what was happening. There was transparency involved in every bit of communication, so they were great.
What did you find most impressive about them?
BrightDock has an astute process that they allowed us to be a part of. They didn’t provide mockups or redesign our solution without understanding who we were, what challenges our customers were facing, and what our market opportunities were. That was really impressive.
They also had a brand that resonated well with us. Additionally, they had a startup mentality, which we do have as well. That connection was valuable because every dollar and every minute was important during the project, and we were thrilled by their output.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any. We had very specific objectives while considering this project last year, and BrightDock met all of our expectations. We’ll see if this answer will change with the second or third project because those will require some other way of thinking. At this point, however, we think they’re the design partners that make sense for us.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be prepared with what you’re trying to accomplish. Have a clear understanding of the problems that you’re solving, and know your business.

A corporate logistics group hired BrightDock to develop a web app that would automate some of their internal processes and free up their employees for more important tasks.
The project is ahead of schedule and expected to deploy sometime next year. The company appreciated the thoughtfulness and thoroughness with which the BrightDock team went about this project and effectively communicated with them at every step of the process.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CTO for a corporate group.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with BrightDock?
We came to BrightDock to have them build a web app from scratch that will automate some tasks for us.
We go all the way from taking the order insurance, invoice creation, driver salary calculation, and outputting reports. We have five staff, and their whole job is to process paperwork every day. It is extremely time consuming and error-prone, so we hired BrightDock for development support.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The project that we're currently having them work on is for a logistics company. We've asked them to develop an app that automates the process of essentially all of our contract orders that happen on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
These orders go into the system and are processed if they’re reoccurring. If they are, it automatically repopulates on required days and produces different reports for us.
The system BrightDock is making for us allows us to free up our employees’ time to use for things we would prefer to grow our business instead of spending their time on unnecessary manual tasks.
What is the team composition?
I have personally talked to the owner Mateo (Lead Developer) and two more developers - about five or so people.
How did you come to work with BrightDock?
I came across them on Freelancer.com. Knowing what this project would actually cost, I put in a very low bid on purpose to see what kind of bids I would get. BrightDock was the only one that came back with a thoughtful proposal and they stood out because they weren’t joking around.
This project would take a lot of work and their bid was much more understandable. The fact that they put out a proposal meant they read through my specifications and understood what I needed.
I had 15 freelancers committed at that point and I removed them all because they didn’t pay attention to what I wanted and went with BrightDock.
How much have you invested with them?
We set aside $70,000 on Freelancers.com.
What is the status of this engagement?
We finalized the contract around the end of May 2020, and the project is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They are around six months ahead of schedule. The web app will be completed and online by the middle of next year. The plan was to have it fully tested and ready for deployment by June. They are around 80% done with finalizing some of the algorithms and testing left.
They’re good and I’m very pleased with them.
How did BrightDock perform from a project management standpoint?
We have regular communication where they tell me what's going on and make sure that it's meeting our time requirements.
They put their most recent updates to a server in which I'm able to look at it and make sure that everything looks right and meets our expectations according to our specifications. I really haven't had to worry about the work. It's been, in many ways, hands-off.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I would say their communication is most impressive. They’re very thoughtful, thorough, and communicate everything as much as possible. They let us know when they don’t fully understand our specifications and are always asking questions, communicating their progress, and ensuring we’re pleased with what they’re doing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’ve had no stress from the beginning and everything is being taken care of.
