I work for a based public accounting firm offering assurance, tax and consulting services. as Sales Specialist.

For what projects/services did your company hire Arete Software Inc., and what were your goals?

We needed to redevelop our company’s website. Our prior site was fairly robust, but it hadn’t been upgraded since the 2015. We needed a partner who had expertise and knowledge to benefit the site with the redevelopment project.

How did you select Arete Software Inc., and what were the deciding factors?

They happened to be the same company that redeveloped the site for the consulting services I presently work for. Their services were referred to the consulting services by someone, possibly one of our donors. That’s what encouraged us to select them in the past. Their team also came alongside another development team to upgrade an existing website for a consulting firm that I’m on the board for.

There, they collaborated with the other group to make some cosmetic improvements to the platform. During these past projects, I had a front-row seat when they re-established that website. It was that experience that provided me the enthusiasm and motivation to hire them for this project. Their workmanship, professionalism, and commitment were evident.

We worked together on the site from January 2020–2021. The site was launched in May 2021, but they’re still making some minor adjustments to it as time goes on. They’ll be managing the site moving forward.

We worked directly with one person. Early on in the project, there was an additional representative present during our initial meetings about security measures and the scope of the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

At this point, we’re just concerned with the longevity of the quality they provide. Even before we engaged on this project, I’ve been very impressed and pleased with their website work. We don’t ever have to shut anything down for site fixes or problem-solving. I’m happy with how this collaborative effort went.

First and foremost, they were very professional and flexible. Because of my busy schedule, we had to reschedule some meetings. I always appreciated their willingness to adjust their schedules. The professional attitude, work ethic, and meaningfulness they put into their work were impressive. They were dedicated to producing something meaningful for us, something I could be proud of.

My priorities were put first, and it was clear they wanted to create something that I would identify with. I’ve been part of engagements where the producer tries to convince the client of what they need all because the producer likes the particular product. I appreciate that they were committed to my vision, outlook, and interests for the site.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

When they gave me room to make decisions, they always provided ample information and examples for me to choose from. Whether it was the layout, designs, or color schemes, I appreciated that they invited me into the making of everything. They invited me into their world and shared the process with me as a partner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were periods of time where we didn’t hear from them. However, during those periods, they didn’t hear from us either. During this time, the designer was in pursuit of a degree while working on this project, so we were patient. I wasn’t looking for a rush job and appreciated them taking the time to involve me in the work. There’s nothing I can say was disappointing.

Our company is a professional services company, of over 100+ staff members. We offer management capabilities and experience for directing large task-order contracts and guiding a team with the array of talents needed for Government Contracting. We specialize in Program Management, Technology Solutions, Communications Support, and Survey and Data Management. I am the Vice President of Operations and manage the day-to-day operations of our staff and 40+ subcontractor staff.

Our company website was over 4 years old and we were beginning a re branding campaign, We wanted to build a new website to depict our corporate capabilities and new brand.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We evaluated several local Web Design firms. We narrowed the field and solicited proposals from them along with the incumbent firm we had used to build the initial website. We evaluated the proposals, and ultimately decided based on the project details that were provided and customer service responsiveness. We had 2 people on our selection panel.

The scope of the project was to use some of the content from the old website and integrate the NEW themes and capabilities. We wanted to streamline the site and make it user friendly. We wanted a more visual presence and less text. I provided materials to the project including: text content, ideas for layouts, pictures, and symbols. Arete Software Inc was responsible for taking our ideas and creating a web presence to suit our needs. They built the wire frames and managed the flow of the website, and provided many options for layouts, schemes, overlays and general look and feel. They also provided text editing of the content we provided.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

They had 3 people involved. One Project Lead - who we dealt with most of the time, and then a developer and UI person (look and feel). The team stayed the same size throughout the process. Arete Software Inc collaborated with Ronald from our company. Our Director of People Services.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We just launched the website and are in the process of really marketing the new site. The overall reaction to the Website has been extremely positive by our employees who have navigated the site. We are extremely pleased with the end product, and feel like we met all the goals of our company.

They helped us with turning our ideas into a custom WordPress website. The concept was difficult to articulate, as we’re not an e-commerce site but work directly with these platforms. We supplied them with site content, but they implemented everything and added in all necessary functionality.

With no complaints coming in from consumers, the WordPress site has performed well. Arete Software has ensured the project’s success by providing ongoing support to ensure any internal site issues are resolved. Their team managed the project well and communicated responsively.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I don’t remember exactly how we found them initially. We ended up interviewing them along with three other companies. They impressed us with how easily they understood our business model. Their team also responded to our initial inquiry within 15 minutes, which stood out.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We worked together on the project from January–May 2021. They still provide us with ongoing support.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The site has performed well for us so far. On the consumer side, we haven’t had any issues or complaints. There are some minor bugs that they’re still working out on the internal side, but everything’s been great overall.

They did really well.
