One of our major real estate clients wanted a mobile app for their newly built high-end residential complex. As we don't offer mobile development, we needed to subcontract this job to a vendor whose expertise is in building iOS and Android apps.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to develop this project within a strict deadline. Since it was for a high-end residential with demanding users, the app had to be really polished.

We did our homework and researched online thoroughly. We started interviewing a few select candidates. We chose Adonis Software as we felt the most confident after discussing the project with them.

Adonis Software started by leading business analysis, followed by the planning the project in terms of milestones. We were to lead the design, and they were to implement it, so we needed to make sure we were on the same page regarding the solution. After two weeks they had full specifications and wireframes. We then finalized the design and provided it to them. They implemented the design on both iOS and Android within the agreed timeline, even though we had some custom elements built in. We had a few rounds of feedback, and they fixed any bugs. After polishing the app, they also helped with the launch on the App Store and Google Play.

What was the team composition?

In the beginning, I worked with a business analyst. My main point of contact during implementation was a project manager. I also worked with three developers (Android, iOS, and a web developer for the backend) as well as a testing specialist.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

My client received very good reviews from the residents of the complex. The feedback was that the app is a service that makes their life easier, which they appreciate. Residents are active users since it first launched one year ago. Since then, we’ve only had to make small changes to the app.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

I mostly kept in touch with the business analyst at first, and then switched to the project manager. I liked having one point of contact as I didn't have to explain the same thing multiple times. Communication went smoothly. We mostly chatted via Skype and email, but sometimes we had calls and live meetings to discuss milestone deliveries. The project manager was very responsive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was highly impressed with their expertise regarding UX. We were comfortable with leading the design aspect, but their expertise in mobile UX was extremely helpful. Together we built a high-quality product. I also highly value their communication skills and drive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing comes to mind at the moment.

We gave feedback, and their team sent us wireframes and guidelines that outlined the route they would take to achieve our goals. They’ve built many useful features into the app, and have developed a backend for both the iOS and Android versions. They continue to provide maintenance and updates as needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Since we launched on the market, we've reached over 10,000 total downloads. We’ve also processed over 50,000 orders through the app. We have a 4.8 rating in the App Store and a 4.5 rating in the Google Play Store.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We’ve communicated frequently with our project manager, and have been able to reach out to other people at Adonis Software via phone call, Skype or Slack. Their team is always quick to respond, which has made workflow management easy and straightforward.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive aspect of Adonis Software is their commitment to producing high-quality deliverables, followed by their ability to walk us through their development process. Some of this guidance has come directly from the CEO of the company, which I very much appreciate.

I've also been pleased with the speed and frequency of communication with their team, and the fact that their prices have been very fair. Adonis Software has created an app with great UX that has helped us grow our business. I would highly recommend their team to friends and colleagues, and they will be my first option for future projects.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At times, I’ve wished the timeframe could've been shorter for certain tasks. However, quality comes first, and I would rather have a well-designed product than a quickly made one that has flaws. Overall, I am very satisfied.

Adonis Software is able to work very efficiently. They helped us navigate the whole process. Since this isn’t my core industry, the guidance they've provided has been very helpful. Overall, we’ve been happy with the designs, overall results, and the team as a whole. We have recommended them to many people since.

We communicated via video calls at first. Now, we predominantly use email. We experienced some preliminary challenges with tracking all the work, but using project management tools made the process much easier.

They developed our app for iOS and Android devices. It offers users the possibility to chat, to make voice or video calls, and to transfer money in real time. The users can apply for a card, which they can maintain from within the mobile application.

The application is available on both the PlayStore and iTunes. It is continuously updated, and regular releases are published.

After reviewing several development companies in Romania, Adonis Software stood out. They were friendly and experienced. I didn’t have to explain too much before they seemed to understand what I wanted. After a couple of meetings, I knew I had found the right people for the job.

Adonis Software handled all the coding. I provided a complete Photoshop file that included all the required designs. They regularly offered different options and gave me excellent advice to find the best route to pursue. Based on this guidance, they were more than just a development company for us. After they built and debugged the initial versions, I sent several rounds of feedback. Slowly but surely, they completed the apps for both Android and iOS.

I worked with a project manager and three coders. They were all great, friendly, and experienced.

Keyboard Plus has managed to get over 3 million downloads on Google Play, and SMS Plus currently has over 500,000 downloads. Adonis Software developer our apps precisely to spec. Now, my design team can now create any number of skins.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Adonis Software relied on a Redmine tool to handle tasks and feedback. We used Skype for our immediate interaction at least 2–3 times a week and held meetings every once in a while. In rare cases, we used TeamViewer. Overall, we had a good system in place. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I liked how involved the team was in my project. Adonis Software gave it all the attention it deserved. I felt like I was their only client, even though that was clearly not the case. Their coders are excellent, and the project manager is highly skilled. I appreciated their openness and friendliness, and I'd recommend them without hesitation.

I can’t think of anything to say without being really nit-picky.
