We’re an e-commerce retailer of high-end nutraceutical supplements and nutritional products. I’m the managing director.

What challenge were you trying to address with Zoronto?

In transitioning our business to Shopify Plus, I was looking for partners to relaunch our email marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We have about 50,000 customers and were looking at new email marketing tools. They helped me figure out which platform would be best for us. We also involved them in launching and optimizing the platform once it was selected. The ended up providing consulting services throughout and are running our email campaigns moving forward. 

Their work involved email list management, automation, and phone support through text and calls.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Through our email campaigns, we have a good idea of our subscriber base and interested leads. It’s been helpful to track all of our KPIs through email in that way. Email is our primary channel of advertising, so it’s been beneficial to track our success through the platform.  

How did Zoronto perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good communicators and accommodate our priorities, even when they shifted midway through an assignment. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re transparent and honest about what’s achievable and possible. The billing was straightforward as well. I never felt nickeled and dimed over anything. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They are located internationally, so it can be a challenge to find meeting times that work for both parties.

Have a clear view of your customer base. Having that strong perspective will allow them to best understand your current situation, needs, and goals.

I am the founder/owner of a swimwear company. We specialize in custom bikinis but have branched out into masks due to the pandemic.

We were looking for someone who could handle all of our email marketing as it is something I am not familiar with as my time is best spent in other areas. Zoronto did all our email marketing from the ad copy, to design, to scheduling sends and setting up welcome series/abandon carts/ and other flows. They made my life much easier.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to increase sales and drive more revenue. Facebook ads started to not work as well for us for a little bit so the email marketing helped a lot to keep driving in revenue and keeping past purchasers interested and purchasing.

How did you select Zoronto?

I posted a job on Upwork a while ago and they were one of the companies that applied. I spoke to Abhishek and he was very knowledgable and helpful so we decided to hire him.

We had a few calls with Abhishek and he walked us through what he thought would bring us the most revenue with email marketing. He told us that a welcome series, abandon cart emails, and 2-3 promotional emails a week would be very helpful and bring in the most revenue for us. He was right!

Each week, someone from his team would send me the ad copy for me to edit, and then they would move onto the design once all the ad copy edits were made. They then scheduled all the sends and picked the best days/times based on the stats they got from my website.

What was the team composition?

At first, I only worked with Abhishek and he was always great. I then got handed over to Bharath who is someone on his team and he also did a fantastic job although I only got to work with him for a short time before I got switched over to Harish. Overall, everyone I worked with did a great job but I do wish I could have stuck with one person rather than having to keep switching to a different person.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They were very easy to communicate with via Skype despite our time difference. They always responded in a timely manner and got the work done quickly and very well.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were very knowledgable about email marketing and everything they told us to do was very successful and brought in revenue. I was also very impressed with how nice they made each email look. Very professional but also matched the feel I wanted for my brand.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I think with any company, there are always areas to improve. Sometimes email designs were sent to me to approve on the same day the email was supposed to be sent out.

I think it would be much more practical to pre-plan all emails and have them sent for approval at least a few days before the email is scheduled to send. I also think a pre-planned calendar for the month would be extremely helpful for both their team and mine, that way we can see exactly what needs to be done and by what date and you can always have a set day each week to approve all the emails for the following week. This would be extremely helpful and much more organized.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I have been super happy. Prior to working with Zoronto, I had hired someone to work in-house, but I had to do a lot of coaching and see which emails were to be sent. The results were four times lower. I’m happy with Zoronto because I don’t have to micromanage them. Abhishek does the strategy and the implementation, and he shows me the results.

The conversions for the automation funnels are high. The average is three to five, and sometimes, it is as high as 11%. He has augmented a lot of the listings with behavior metrics. The campaigns that they broadcast convert to about 8% of our sales. In total, 18% of our sales come from email marketing. 

They’re innovative and organized. I also like that they’re always trying to improve their service and propose new things. For example, last week Abhishek proposed that we test chat popups. He is always looking at the performance and metrics. He is very numerically oriented, and he shows results. 

How did Zoronto perform from a project management standpoint?

We meet once a month. They’re super independent. Abhishek defines the strategy, and he always respects deadlines. For example, if he says that he will send emails three to four days a week and certain hours, it always happens. He delivers things a week before the schedule.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For me, the results are the most important thing and the results are really good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t know. He shows me the results I want, has even surpassed my expectations so it has been great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust his criteria and let him work. I think it is good if he has the space to create and deploy what he thinks will work. He also knows what works for one client and it might work for another client.
