We’re a party supply wholesale company, and I’m an IT manager. We’re also affiliated with the Party Club of America, a conglomerate of party stores across the US and the world. We have multinational members that group together to get better deals overseas when we’re importing party supplies. As a result, we’ve leveraged that into a B2B site where even non-members can sign up and buy wholesale party supplies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ziffity Solutions LLC?
We contacted them to handle two of our web development projects.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
The team developed our two websites from scratch, and we provided them with all the descriptions and content. They also designed some of the graphics on our websites.
Ziffity Solutions had several novel ideas regarding our first Magento website. The first website was for a balloon business that delivered balloons in certain geographic areas. Since balloon bouquets were very unique, it was very hard to quantify what went into them. As such, the team helped us develop a system in our site's backend so that we could track our inventory. It took us three months to get that project working.
After that, we transitioned over to building our second website which was the official Party Supply USA platform. We only used Magento’s free version because we didn’t need to incorporate special features on the second website.
How did you come to work with Ziffity Solutions LLC?
Ziffity Solutions called us. They reached out to us at the right time because we were really looking for a development company we could partner with. After we discussed our needs, we found out that they offered the services we needed and we decided to go with them.

We spent $118,000.

Our partnership ran from March 2019–August 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Thanks to Ziffity Solutions, we were able to hit $203,000 worth of sales since January 2020 on our website. In total, we had 533 orders from 394 registered customers. Before the team created our website, we could only do wholesale offers to our party club members. Overall, we had a huge success since we were able to secure around 194 registered customers that were not party club members.
We stopped our service agreement with them this month, but it was only out of business necessity. We just needed to look for a partner that could offer us cost-effective services.
How did Ziffity Solutions LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very open to hearing our inputs, and they were good at collaborating to get us where we needed to go. Despite the huge time difference between us, they were good at working around our schedule to get things done.
We had many problems throughout the course of our partnership, but it was quite normal for any new website. We were impressed that they swiftly solved our issues and their turnaround time was only 2–3 days. On top of that, they immediately responded to our emails. Apart from email, we also used Zoom calls to communicate with each other. Then, we used GitHub and Jira as our project management tools.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Ziffity Solutions was a one-stop-shop for us. They had development, SEO, and web design services. Though we didn’t utilize all their services, they were able to discuss what they could offer to our business. Additionally, they had a graphic design artist on site. Whenever we needed to use them for some of our art, they were willing to complete the deliverables we requested.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had some communication issues where we both made assumptions and we didn’t make things clear. However, in every case that happened, they took it upon themselves to make things right. More importantly, we both had the chance to reevaluate where we were going.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
The Ziffity Solutions team is proactive and communicative. They’re also good at letting you know what’s going on in your project. Above all, always be aware of what’s happening — this is applicable to any engagement. Don’t just blindly trust anybody. In our case, we trust Ziffity Solutions than other businesses or contractors we’ve worked with.

Ziffity lead the define and design and outsourced UX design to a partner. They suggested using a turnkey PAAS and made the infrastructure configurations required to deploy Magento. They set up multiple environments and established a DevOps pipeline and then customized our Magento build to meet specs.

We worked with project managers and the lead developers and were probably interacting with about 6-8 Magento team members throughout the build.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The design and overall aesthetic is significantly better than our previous site. Although we had a few breakdowns in communication around functionality, the final product delivered was of a good standard.

Project management was timely and communicative. There were a few occasions where there was a breakdown in communication, I think mainly because of the occasional language barrier. Even with those challenges though, we were ultimately able to resolve all issues.

We had bi-weekly meetings to stay on track and Aiffity worked within Dynojet's existing project management software to manage releases, tickets, and communicate with various Dynojet employees throughout development.

If we made a request for development and owed them information, product information, or access to resources, they were relentless in holding us accountable to keep the project moving forward.
Other developers I've worked with would have relied on Dynojet to drive progress, they really drove hard to make sure we could hit our goals.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only struggle is with scheduling of meetings, a lot of our staff works on Pacific Time, so scheduling a time for meetings that is advantageous can be hard but we've struck a good balance.

Once the proposal was approved and the contract in place we had a kickoff call to review the full scope of work. From there, they went to work cleaning up the site with constant communication from what they found, their proposed solution and our approval. We knew exactly what they were doing at each step.

We worked intimately with a project manager. They would include key technical people on calls when needed but the majority of the communication went directly through the project manager. This one key contact was important to us for ease and consistency.

They got us to a place where our site was stable with clean, reliable analytics. We were not able to benchmark the difference since the analytics integration was one of the areas with issues before contracting with Ziffity.

We have released nine versions of our solution over the past year and are shaping our tenth, enabling us to enhance our admin capabilities, expand our product offerings, support targeted marketing and sales opportunities, highlight our corporate culture, grow our customer base, provide additional channels for ordering, offer advanced searching and navigation, extend our virtual footprint, introduce new product capabilities, and upgrade our analytics.

We collaborate via email and Zoom and manage our efforts via Confluence and JIRA. Their diligence, attention to detail, and dedication to thoroughness surpassed our previous service provider.
