I’m the co-managing director of a cheese manufacturing company based in the United Kingdom. We’re second-generation cheese makers— my mother started the business in 1989.

What challenge were you trying to address with YourFilm?

Part of our pandemic recovery scheme involved applying for small business programs. We were awarded funding to support our company and were introduced to them for TV advertising production.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were working on a tight timeline of about five weeks for the entire project. I worked closely with Matthew (Co-Founder) to determine our messaging based on recent campaigns for new products. We focused on that messaging, also employing existing promotional materials to create the ad. They wrote the script. Because of the script messaging, existing materials, and historic content, we determined that we didn’t need any new footage at the time. The final ad was composed of the script paired with illustrative still content that we put together.

Matthew took the lead, but we also worked with 2–3 other people.

We worked together from June–July 2020.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They understood our mission very quickly, which was brilliant. When we ran into challenges, they were very calm and provided useful assistance on the creative end of TV campaigns. Especially given our time constraints, we were very pleased with the results of the project.

They were great communicators throughout the entire process. We kept track of the project through Basecamp, which worked seamlessly. The engagement was very efficient, and they worked well under pressure.  

What did you find most impressive about them?

Matthew’s excellent project management skills and empathy helped us distill our requirements thoughtfully to capture the essence of our message. Their quick understanding made for an efficient relationship. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. They understood our brand and created an advertisement at record speed.

Yourfilm spent the full day filming inside my store, we have 5 floors of furniture,they covered everything that I asked them to. The finished advert then went on to be used on Sky digital advertising, I also used the voice over on my local radio station.

Many of our stakeholders have seen the film and feedback has been fantastic. Our singing group are delighted to be able to show themselves off to the world.
