We found them through online research, picking them from 3 vendors based on costs & priority & knowledge based on our needs.

They designed and developed a Laravel-based online platform which manages our daily activities. They provided support & mockups throughout our entire collaboration. We’ve seen great drops in processing time since our migration from our old ways of day-to-day business to the new platform which Yarmobile created for us.

There were 2 people in the core team, including a project manager and a senior developer. Other resources would come and go depending on the project needs.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to launch the project fairly quickly, which was a major achievement for us. Within the first three months. we dropped our data entry errors by 30%. The data automation also freed up our time to focus on new clients & leads.

The project management was great, very solution-based approach. We communicated through email and Skype.

The project manager was dedicated to finding solutions for our problems, going multiple times through key elements so that the finished product corresponded to our needs.

I am the IT Manager and lead developer of a UK-based online transcription company. I oversee our IT solutions and custom software.

For what projects/services did your company hire YarMobile?

We were using third-party mobile apps to record and upload dictations. We wanted to have our own mobile apps for iOS and Android. We didn't have any in-house mobile developers, so we needed to outsource the entire project.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to stop using third-party products and better promote our own brand. We also wanted a custom integration of the apps with our server-side infrastructure, which was not possible with the third-party apps.

How did you select this vendor?

We searched online for suitable companies. We narrowed our search to five based on their reputation, reviews on Clutch.co, and web content. We presented them with our specifications and asked for proposals. YarMobile presented the best proposal within our timeframe and budget. They were also willing to start right away.

After we selected this vendor, we quickly finalized the agreement and they began their work. Using our wireframes, their team prepared graphic designs in a week. After a few iterations and discussions, we finalized the design and they started coding. They presented us with early previews within two weeks. We worked through several iterations—adding more features and fixing bugs. I worked closely with their project manager to make sure the apps were working and looked as expected. The vendor then helped us to deploy the apps to their respective app stores.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager to support us and act as our point of contact throughout the project. I only spoke with our project manager, but there were one iOS and one Android developer working behind the scenes. A graphic designer was also involved.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The app has recently been released, so we are still waiting for the user feedback. Thus, it's too early to talk about metrics. However, users have already begun uploading their work to us through the app.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our project manager was easy to communicate with and provided us with frequent updates. We mainly communicated via email and sometimes over the phone if there were any urgent or important matters to discuss. Overall, I was impressed by the timeliness of their team. They worked fast, efficient and met all their deadlines.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The vendor was flexible and patient. During the development, we asked for many different changes to specification and design. They were always willing to comply and only charged us extra if the change required a lot of extra work. They provided good quality at a reasonable price; we will certainly be using them in the future to add new features to our app.

Are there any areas for improvement?

They could've put a little bit more effort into their QA before handing the apps to us for internal testing. The number of bugs in test releases was a bit too high at times. However, they eventually fixed them all and the final result was more than satisfactory.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

During development, YarMobile performed okay with support, bug fixes, and requested changes. However, based on the team’s emails, I later felt they were not as interested in a long-term relationship. Since we were smaller customers, they might have felt we aren’t as important as the larger accounts. For example, when we wanted YarMobile to do another modification, they first agreed to the project but then said they were too busy to help us. I had already prepared the materials; the task was simple and would’ve taken only a few hours. Their decision caused huge problems for us because we needed the change urgently. Eventually, I did the job myself. Since I’m not a mobile app developer, I had to spend extra time learning how to execute the modification.

Ultimately, we had to find another vendor quickly to support the app in the future. Potential customers should know that while YarMobile delivers okay one-off products, they cannot be relied upon for long-term partnerships.

I was starting a second part of the company and needed an application. This was my first time working with a developer.

YarMobile worked on my Android app and created everything. I had an idea which they made into reality.

The app isn’t live yet, so I can’t speak about its functionalities. I will consider expanding it to iOS, if people like the idea.

The design was done in collaboration with me, but the work was fully done by YarMobile. They presented some possibilities, out of which I chose the ones I liked.

What is the team dynamic?

We communicated a few times per day and once a week during other instances. If there was a problem to solve, the communication would be more frequent. We only used email. I only spoke with one person, but there were a few people involved in the project for specific tasks.

How did you come to work with YarMobile?

I looked online for companies which could build my application. YarMobile was one of the first results on Google and I decided to call them. From the first talk, I had the impression they were a good company. We conversed quite a bit and I asked more specific questions, to which they answered quickly.

We started working with YarMobile around March or April 2017.

I am running the company by myself and don’t have any employees. The feedback from contractors was quite good. They’ve liked my idea and everything has looked fine so far.

How did YarMobile perform from a project management standpoint?

I could always count on them to fix any issues without too much discussion. If it was entered into their scope of work, I could be sure it would be delivered. I made some additions to the original contract, but YarMobile covered my mistakes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

In terms of technical solutions, they’re no different from another company, but, looking at the support and quick answers, YarMobile is a strict group and they do what they say they will.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I am 100% happy with them. More advertising could help their company grow, but that’s it.

Everything should be written carefully in the contract.

I am the owner of NinjaDrinks. It’s an app that allows users to locate nearby bars depending on their location, taste, prices, and other criteria.

What challenge were you trying to address with YarMobile?

I wanted to create an app for Android devices.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

YarMobile developed the app, which features tools for users to find specific bars by location, pricing, as well as featuring a party calculator that helps calculate how much each person owes. There is an integrated administration panel within the app, on a separate server, that allows me to input all the data needed. There is a Facebook connection, Google Analytics, and integration with GPS.

I had decided to get my own graphics beforehand, and I provided YarMobile with the logo and how I wanted it to look. They also proposed quite a lot of nice graphical features to me, such as fading in and out.

What is the team dynamic?

Jaroslav, the owner of YarMobile, was my project manager. I had a mobile developer for Android, a web developer for the backend, and a graphics person who took care of the whole graphics side of the application.

How did you come to work with YarMobile?

I was looking for a developer, and after reaching out to several companies, YarMobile’s offer was the best. I had seen their previous work, and an additional deciding factor was their good communication, which is something I value a lot. 

They showed a clear willingness to understand my needs, and proposed their own ideas as well, which ultimately led me to choose them.

I have spent around 25,000 Polish Zloty ($7,080).

What is the status of this engagement?

We had started working together towards the end of 2016, in October or November. We launched at the end of November, and my application was ready at the end of December 2016.

We’ve had only closed tests so far—the app isn’t published yet because of data reasons on my end.

How did YarMobile perform from a project management standpoint?

Prior to the project starting, we had quite a lot communication about what my needs were, my ideas, pricing, and the potential for future progress. All my communication was with Jaroslav, the project manager. Mainly, we used email or spoke on the telephone. 

After we defined the project scope, there was approximately a two-week timeframe in which they needed to develop the first version, and during this time the phone calls were less frequent. When the first version was completed, we were in contact almost daily, occasionally several times a day, as there were things I wanted to add, change, or fix.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical approach is impressive. They added certain elements that I hadn’t specifically asked for—and wasn’t even aware existed—but were very nice features. They did that without being asked, even though it was additional work for them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The first scope was okay, but two or three times when changes were added, we didn’t define those changes very well, which caused slight miscommunications, but this is rather normal in the programming world.

Do you have any advice for potential clients?

My recommendation for someone potentially working with YarMobile, would be to prepare a good project scope and ask questions, including technical ones. YarMobile have ideas and they do the work, and a lot of times they will advise on what they think is best.

We are in the transportation business and one of our main activities is trucking, consisting of a fleet of trucks and drivers. Our other main activity is a container depot, where we store empty containers. We are a mid-sized company with over 200 employees. We have been in operation for 25 years, and are registered in the Polish stock market.

What challenge were you trying to address with YarMobile?

We were lacking a good IT system for our services. We wanted to develop a system consisting of both web and mobile applications to help us to communicate fluently with truck drivers, staff, and customers.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

We wanted one smooth, smart platform to facilitate communication with all stakeholders. We started with telephone conversations to define the scope and create wireframes for the platform. YarMobile initially developed the Android mobile application that was specifically for our truck drivers. The application will be built for iOS in the future.

Our internal team worked alongside YarMobile; they worked almost 24/7 to complete the project quickly. They now maintain system updates and perform bug fixes. We will be developing it more in the future.

What did you find most impressive about them?

YarMobile is different than most IT companies in that we work directly with the developers, although they do work on their own initiative. They always want to jump right into the work for you, and they work all day, every day to complete the job; the fact that they work 24/7 is very special.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It might be helpful for them to hire more developers in the future. Within the company, there are maybe 2 or 3 people on staff total, including both owners, so they might not have the resources for bigger projects with those numbers.
