When we first started working with Wiideman in 2014 (9 years ago), we had low visibility in Google or Bing for non-brand keywords, such as "whole house fan" and similar. Wiideman performed a comprehensive audit and designed a roadmap that addressed technical SEO, content opportunities, off-page SEO, and even touched on conversion rate optimization.

They initially took on our PPC advertising for us as well. Every year, pandemic aside, Wiideman has helped us increase organic traffic and leads from search consistently year over year

Everything from the strategy provided, to the ongoing coaching, project and task support, and reporting, has been on-point and has led us to where we are today in organic and paid search performance. We enjoyed working with the Wiideman group and highly recommend them to anyone else interested in improving their SEO

I’m the assistant brand marketing manager for Outback Steakhouse, one of the restaurants under the Bloomin’ Brands umbrella.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wiideman?

We were looking to revitalize our web pages for our restaurant locations, implement a more strategic approach to our SEO efforts, and improve our searchability and Google rankings.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wiideman started our partnership by auditing the technical component of our content management system (CMS) and the content component of our marketing efforts.

We then made several adjustments and fixes to the problems they identified, including bugs in the CMS, so it ended up becoming a technically-heavy engagement.

After that, we looked for ways to establish our presence in search engines, and they recommended three areas where we could optimize our operations, including integrating a takeaway service for our off-premise business and keyword research.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Wiideman was very easy to work with, extremely responsive, and highly knowledgeable in their field. Their team was able to uncover and identify several key errors that helped us from a technical perspective — that in itself was highly beneficial for us.

How did Wiideman perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well from a project management perspective, as they were able to stick to schedules and consistently updated us on the progress of the project.

We mainly communicated through email, phone, and Monday.com.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What distinguishes them from other vendors is their level of customer service, knowledge, and problem-solving skills.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We didn’t like how they utilized Monday.com in the project because we had to go through a bit of a learning curve. Other than that, I don’t have any constructive feedback.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would advise you to have clear-cut and defined goals before engaging with them, to get the most out of your partnership with Wiideman. As long as you set them up for success, I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t be able to achieve your goals.

We are just starting the process, but so far we are very pleased with the easy actionable next steps he has given us. Steve has added value from Day 1.

They provided a thorough preliminary audit that gave useful insights. He gave us time to process and then made himself available for discussion...which we needed. Overall, the correspondence has been fluid and driven by us.

Break it down into even simpler terms. If we didn't have branding and marketing experience, we would have been totally lost. SEO feels like a black box to most.

The amount of knowledge they have on everything related to Digital Marketing. Every single person we have worked with has brought valuable expertise to help us make informed decisions.

I think there is always room for improvement in any organization, but they are always getting better. Anywhere that needs improvement, is definitely in their plans to improve.

I’m the senior director of product for GasBuddy. We provide fuel savings through our save at the pump GasBuddy card, a marketplace, and prenegotiated repair rates.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wiideman?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, people spent less time driving and we saw a decrease in traffic. To combat that, we wanted to draw more organic traffic to our platforms. Wiideman came on board to provide SEO best practices for our web and mobile apps so we would rank higher on Google, the App Store, and Google Play.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They evaluated where we were at the beginning of the engagement. Then they provided a report on how our site and apps were performing. From there, they formulated a strategy that targeted keywords such as “cheap gas near me.”

Our marketing team and product team worked with them to improve on-site SEO.  Depending on what part of the site we were working on, we made adjustments to the site’s structure and content.

They were also instrumental in creating strategic landing pages for partners and memberships. They made sure that our headings, page titles, content, and page structure were optimized to promote those pages. Now we can use their work as a template that we can use to update our landing pages in the future.

They also conducted a backlinks audit. Now we’re working with organizations who have mentioned our brand but haven’t linked to us yet.

Dan and Steve were our primary points of contact, but we worked with a few of their other team members as well.

I’ve worked with them on two occasions in the past with other companies. We developed a good relationship, so I brought them on here as well.

We started working with them in May 2020 and we paused the project in November.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We saw dramatic leaps in our rankings. For example, we weren’t ranking at all for one of our keywords but now we’re ranked much higher.

Usually, our KPI would be organic traffic. Unfortunately, the pandemic decreased how much people are driving and so search volumes for keywords like cheap gas are down. Still, we were really pleased with their work and it was clear that they were driving organic traffic.

We definitely plan to resume our work with them when the pandemic is over. When we decided to pause the project, they gave us some action items that would help us maintain our rankings and increase organic traffic even though we were no longer continuing our partnership. Last month, we were able to implement all of their suggestions too.

How did Wiideman perform from a project management standpoint?

Wiideman’s team is like an extension of our team. They’re readily available at all times. They used a project management tool that kept track of dates and assigned work to each team member.

They walked us through every audit and were very detailed. That being said, they were able to break down technical jargon so that everyone could understand it. That helped everyone buy into the strategy.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their expertise is unparalleled and they’re passionate about our success. They were a really good partner. If we needed them to do something other than SEO, they volunteered to help.

Nothing comes to mind.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Follow their guidance to the letter. If they need to, they will tell you to adjust course. Everybody on their team has passion and SEO expertise. They’re a great investment.

Their team puts together recommendations for our website and any PR efforts. Typically, we have 5–7 campaigns per year. Wiideman provides search recommendations for each campaign. Their team also helps with one-off campaigns or digital initiatives throughout the year. They primarily build their recommendations for content on our website.

I work closely with Steve (Co-Founder). Another team member puts in quite a few hours on our account.

Wiideman became our partner agency before I came on board. I worked with them at a previous agency, so I was already familiar with their expertise.

The company started to work with Wiideman about 2 years, which was prior to my onboarding in November 2019. They became our partner agency around October 2018.

Since we brought them on board, we’ve seen improvements in traffic, lead generation, and search results. We set a goal of 10% improvement each year and every year, Wiideman exceeds it.

We have a weekly call with them. Their team's familiar with various tools, so they don’t have any issues with pulling reports. Wiideman’s project management’s excellent.

Steve also interfaces with our product team on an as-needed basis, which is great. He’s a relationship builder — open and quick to respond. We get whatever we need quickly.

It’s easy to work with Wiideman. Their team is service-oriented and responds quickly. We feel like Wiideman’s top priority. They're great at providing valuable information that interests stakeholders.
