I’m the marketing specialist at Polymer Solutions International, a company in the reusable packing space. We design, create and manufacture plastic bottle water racks, pallets, bins, and other custom plastic solutions that our customers request.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

Previously, we’d had virtually no search engine presence and were doing nothing for digital marketing or SEO. Over our 21-year history, we built the company by attending numerous tradeshows and using traditional forms of marketing like magazines and ads on websites. 

Several years ago, we realized we were falling behind and needed to hire a marketing agency to help us improve our website and online presence.

WebFX used a very detail-oriented process. They planned the scope of work and gathered extensive information about our company, history, and products. Since they were new to the reusable packaging world, we had to get them up to speed with the terminology. They’ve come a long way and now possess considerable knowledge about our industry from working with us. 

Our internal team looked over the strategy WebFX compiled and decided that SEO was our greatest need. We identified the specific areas we wanted to dominate online. Increasing lead generation through the website had been our major focus over the last two years. WebFX put together a plan and continues to execute on it. We do PPC ads with them as well, including a Google Ads campaign.

I’ve mostly worked with Jordan (Internet Marketing Analyst, WebFX). He’s a rock star and acts as an extension of my internal marketing team.

Before I began working for the company, they searched online for a vendor, read reviews, and considered 20 different marketing agencies. After interviewing several companies, they chose WebFX. Their office is not too far from our corporate headquarters.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We surpassed last year’s total website visitors by mid-October this year. Year over year, we continue to shatter our numbers working with WebFX. Last year, we similarly broke the previous year’s record by around November or October. Beneficially, the monthly ad spend has remained the same since we first started for the last two years. For 2017 and 2018, we’ve had amazing gains so far. The results drastically improve from month to month, usually with between 20%-40% gains over the previous year.

One of the most important things we added to our efforts this year was posting new content. We have a very active bimonthly blog through our website that we share with our social media channels. It’s an excellent tool that has allowed us to attract more visitors continuously. We’ve made some incredible gains together over the last two years.

Jordan (Internet Marketing Analyst, WebFX) is not only a great person but also extremely organized and detail-oriented. He’s highly proactive, contributes great ideas, and does an excellent job with communication. He’s been on the ball to address all our concerns for any type of issue.

WebFX hasn’t missed a single deadline. They've planned an agenda that covers everything we’re trying to achieve. We meet every month to recap our progress. At times, we talk on the phone weekly. We have lots of email exchange and dialogue. We plan what we want to achieve on a quarterly basis based on the available funds in the budget.

To track metrics, WebFX uses a combination of Google Analytics and the proprietary system they created. We have access to both those systems which show us our areas of strength and weakness, so we know how to target better progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

WebFX contributes great ideas and executes on our plans. They’re fantastic.  As a goal-oriented team with many resources at their disposal, they help us accomplish our objectives. If Jordan can’t give me an answer, he puts me in touch with someone who can. 

They have in-depth knowledge of the industry and take a proactive approach to educating their employees. We have a great relationship. I even had the opportunity to tour their corporate headquarters this year. Every time I’m scheduled to talk to Jordan, I look forward to the call. 

WebFX is an amazing company with an incredible corporate culture.  I was blown away by their office. Philanthropy is important to me, and I’m impressed by all the charities they donate to. We have a great relationship and are so happy with them that we won’t let anyone else touch our SEO.

WebFX is offering new services that incorporate video and bringing other CRM tools to the table. Their company is continually hiring people and expanding its services and ideas to different areas. We’re not taking advantage of all these offerings yet.

Can you share any statistics or metrics that speak to the quality of their work and impact of the engagement?

One of the first projects WebFX worked on was an ROI/benchmark calculator that would track our improvement month after month. Since we started our engagement with them, we’ve seen keywords increase 300%, organic sessions increase over 150%, conversion rates have doubled, and cost per lead has decreased.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

WebFX takes the heavy lifting off our team. The project manager works with his writing team, but we mainly have a relationship with him. We communicate through email and have weekly scheduled calls. We review their work and discuss quarterly plans regarding our overall strategy. Their team usually respond within a day, outside of those planned calls.

We wanted to improve our brand visibility and company exposure throughout the state of New Jersey. We hired them to help expand our online presence.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They help with a number of online aspects, including SEO, improvements to CRM, social media management, ad campaigns, and a complete visual revamp of our website. The focus is on growing our online presence both socially and organically. We have active campaigns on Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and they’re in the beginning phases of our new website. They also monitor all of our analytics for us and send us regular reports. That involvement saves our administrators a lot of time.

Once we stabilize the redesign, we will look at new avenues to increase our presence even more. We just signed off on the new homepage layout and are brainstorming with them to create the remaining pages. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Each month, we receive reports on all the statistics so we can see how we should adjust our campaigns. Month over month, we see an increase in traffic to all our platforms. Facebook page likes have surpassed the numbers we were trying to accomplish very quickly. From a business perspective, we definitely see the profits of all their hard work.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a great job and are always on top of everything. If we ever fall behind on things they need, they check in with us and make sure we’re approving things in time to meet deadlines. After our initial in-person meetings, we felt comfortable enough to switch to conference calls and email. Most of our communication is through those channels now.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The biggest thing for us is their transparency. The company we worked with previously was nowhere near as forthcoming with the costs or analytic data as WebFX is. They are a great partner and really help our business succeed in every aspect they support. The process is streamlined and their communication is great.

They’re far ahead of their competitors, and I don’t have anything I think they should improve.

Our geographical reach has grown significantly thanks to the work WebFX has done for us. We also rank higher with keywords, especially for some of our specialty products. They do a fantastic job.

Their communication is great. They’re willing to explain (sometimes multiple times) anything to make sure we’re on the same page. They listen to our ideas and requests. They have the knowledge to make our ideas more practical for content and marketing purposes. The team's digital marketing knowledge was evident from start. The relationship has been very successful; we've made our investment back over and over every month. In the last month, over 350 new users visited our site, an increase of 39% from the previous month. We've also gained six new business leads in the last month alone, ranging from big commercial jobs to smaller residential customers, thanks to their efforts.

They're very communicative and transparent, providing daily and weekly updates and reports of everything they're doing and the progress they're making.

I'm most impressed by their technical expertise. The bottom line is their work generates results. Their level of communication is also very valuable; they're always very descriptive of their timelines and courses of action.

There's nothing I can think of from a customer's standpoint.

Find a reputable company, because there are many SEO providers out there unable to provide the kind of results WebFX can. We've wasted our time and money with a few of them, but working with WebFX has been great for us and we knew we could trust them because we had a trusted referral.

I’m the CEO of a fastener company. We’ve been in business for 35 years and recently have fostered an online presence.

I contacted them initially to help with web content. All of our pages were images, and Google doesn’t search pictures. We needed material that Google would read in their SEO.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I was only planning on staying with WebFX for a year. I wanted around 500 visitors to the website per day. At the time, we had about 35 visitors.

We were one of the first fastener companies online, so this was new territory. Their team made our content look professional and cleaned up the background of our website. We have around 200 pages on our site. They made sure all the content would look great for Google. All of our charts were images, and their team transferred them into written data.

We are currently updating our website with an outside webmaster, and WebFx is helping with the switchover, making sure the company doesn’t lose any rankings. They have even given us hints on ways to boost our ranking on our new website.

We’re one of the top fastener stores online. We’re now at about 350 to 400 visitors a day. At first, it was difficult to track where the traffic was coming from. We have a chatbox where we’ve received some visitors. Our sales and number of customers have increased. I haven’t been dependent on salespeople to break leads because of the increase in customers.

I have no complaints regarding their project management. We have a scheduled phone call, but I can call whenever I have a question. WebFX is always accessible to me. This whole process has been smooth so far.

The project manager and I have open communication with each other. If I see something online about SEO, I ask about it. She’s an expert and will give her opinion on whether we should use it. I feel like she’s part of the company because she knows us. Their team also works well with the outside webmaster.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It is difficult to choose. WebFX offers different services and gives my company their best. Their team writes great content and offers up new information on things I haven’t heard of before. This information helps me prepare for changes on my website and working with Google. They are true SEO experts.

I'm the director of marketing and communications at a healthcare and IT company. My role is responsible for aspects of our internal communications like blogs, articles, and event coordination. I also oversee and manage external vendors like WebFX and our PR agency.

Our website was in terrible shape. To save costs, our company had hired an offshore software team that didn't use best practices to build it. It was hosted on WordPress but didn't utilize that platform's strengths. Instead of using a template, it had sloppy custom coding and over 1,000 page errors. The duplicate content was also hurting our SEO. 

We then hired an SEO consultant, but it wasn't clear how they were spending their time. It didn't feel like they were offering the right value. After seeing no improvements month over month or even year over year, we decided to switch vendors.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Having fixed our website errors, WebFX now works with us on SEO, including content writing. They also support our PPC marketing campaign for Google AdWords. Their account manager visits our office annually to review how well we met our goals for the previous year. She then helps us establish goals for the upcoming year and usually compiles a strategic plan to achieve them. 

Typically, our VP of marketing and I map out the metrics we need to report on a weekly and monthly basis to our executive management. WebFX uses Google Analytics along with their own cloud-based tools to track conversions from SEO, PPC, and overall lead generation from the site. I use Act-On for marketing automation. The team provides explanations for any of our questions. They've been very accommodating about sending updated metrics when needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

WebFX fixed all the errors that were on our site, which was a major success. We've been increasing our web traffic by almost 100% annually. The number of site visitors who found us through search engines doubled after the first year. Leads are continually coming in, and many people indicate they found us on Google.

Having started with 375 keywords in March 2016, we now rank for 2,633 search terms as of October 2018. As a result of their work, we saw the following percentage increases: 96.86% for organic traffic, 101.20% for overall goal completions, 135.71% for organic goal completions, and 93.55% for paid goal completions.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

The experience has been really great. Our account manager has always been very responsive and easy to reach via phone and email. Every agency tends to pitch themselves as an extension of your in-house marketing team, but that's actually the case with WebFX. 

Whenever we call, they either have a recommendation or offer to help us out if we need it. Every Friday they send industry updates like Google algorithm changes or new developments in SEM. We have biweekly calls and speak regularly. They always provide the metrics on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

WebFX has provided great SEO services. Staying on top of this continually changing field is critical. They definitely know what they're doing, and it seems to work. By constantly monitoring our progress, they continually optimize strategy and find new changes to make. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not necessarily. The only thing we struggle with is the lack of a dedicated content lead for our account. Our products and services can be complicated to understand, and the copywriters aren't as close to our project as our account manager. At times, the direction can be slightly off or inaccurate. This is understandable; we don't expect everyone to be an expert about our technology. Their copy is usually a good starting place that requires a decent number of edits.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The process went really well when we kicked it off. Since our website was such a mess, maybe we could have started the relationship by building a new one instead of trying to fix all the existing problems. With that in mind, we've been engaged with them for a few years now and are finally working on a new website. We're collaborating with the team to make sure our new plans for the design are SEO-friendly.

As a result of WebpageFX’s efforts, we received a few linkbacks to our website, which helped increase our traffic. Their web design strategies produced an aesthetically pleasing interface. We also now have a variety of images and blog posts to support our social media efforts.

The workflow between our team and their team has been great. We communicate whenever we feel we need to, and their team is quick to follow up with any of our comments or requests.

WebpageFX is great at what they do, they are very knowledgeable about online marketing. Their blog posts are beautiful and informative. I also appreciate how diligent our account manager, and the other staff, are in their work on our project.

My organic traffic is up and my page placement has significantly increased. I’m between spots one and three on Google for 39 of our top 100 keywords. We are generating new leads coming in through our website quantitatively but also qualitatively as a result of the high-quality content on our site. We’re starting to see bigger corporations with bigger premiums come to us.

We now rank higher in specific keywords, and from 2016 to 2017, sessions of organic traffic on our website have increased 294%. During that same timeframe, the transactions on our website have increased 73%, and overall revenue generated by the site has increased 87.5%.

They’re very organized and come with creative strategies. They stay in regular contact and offer monthly reports on PPC and AdWords trends. Being an energy company, our peak time is the winter, so they remain mindful of tracking our progress and operating within our budget. They provide us with clear proposals and itemized services.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What separates them from other agencies we’ve worked with is the breadth of services they offer. They are experts in almost every field of digital marketing. We’re not utilizing them for one or two services. They have a wealth of knowledge of all different channels that go into making the project a success.

At first, we communicated mostly through emails and phone calls, but they obliged to our request to hold in-person meetings. We found it more valuable to go over all the information face-to-face.

Any advice for potential customers?

If possible, try to have somebody in-house that has a background in digital marketing. That makes the communication smoother when you’re working with PPC or SEO if somebody on your side has a background in those areas.
