We work with them primarily on SEO and conversion rate optimization. They began with a deep diagnostic of our website and made basic structural and organizational changes to streamline the backend and improve search rankings. Once those basic changes were made, they strategized and created a schedule for fixing and updating the site. From there, they focused on SEO rankings by updating content and cross- and back-linking from other sites.

We've started a few smaller projects with them, including designing micrographics and long-form content to help with search rankings for certain pages on the site.

They’ve also started working on a website redesign for us. That project is different from the work we've done with them and is still unfinished, but the experience has been great so far.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We gave them a list of keywords we wanted to focus on for SEO, and their consistent attention to those words allowed us to compare search rankings over time. As a result, we’re better able to reach government contractors, our key audience.

Overall, we've seen a dramatic improvement in the areas we needed to improve. Now we can take the next step and even better target our audience and have them visit our site and convert.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management has been exceptional. They lay out a plan for their work and track the activities and deliverables, which makes the process very transparent. They've given us access to their basecamp system so we can see the progress of ongoing activities. Since we started the partnership, we've also had weekly calls to discuss the project timeline and progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everyone we've worked with is incredibly talented and proactive. The team strategizes well, provides quantifiable results, and has taken time to learn our business and our audience. As a result, they present valuable and informed suggestions for improvement.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Even though companies might have similar goals, make sure you communicate your group's specific end goals. We were very clear from the beginning that the improvements we wanted to implement were meant to specifically increase site traffic and our customer base, so in their performance reviews they always emphasize metrics and generated revenue.

We’ve seen triple-digit increases in both our traffic and our sales on a percentage basis. They far exceeded our expectations and helped us achieve every goal we had set.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

They use Basecamp for project management. Luisa is very responsive and willing to accommodate my schedule.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Unlike other SEO companies, WebpageFX made it clear at the very beginning that their goal is to increase our sales and profitability, not just our traffic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I prefer using other productivity suites to Basecamp. However, Luisa is in constant contact with me, so it's easy to keep up with her even without logging into Basecamp.

They know what they're doing. As soon as they started making changes to our website, we saw an increase in sales.

Our website ranks higher in Google searches and the number of leads is on the rise. Last month, 28 people submitted forms via our website, which was more than in previous months. In addition, we saw a 62% increase in visitors right after we launched the website.

We used Basecamp and spreadsheets, especially when we were working on the website redesign.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're exceptionally responsive and easy to work with. When one of our forms wasn't loading, I called them and they fixed it within three minutes. It was one of the more major projects I ever worked on and it was also one of the easiest for me.

We're seeing positive results. The number of subscribers to our blog has increased and our rates per click have dropped.

How did they perform from a project management standpoint?

I mostly communicate with them through Slack. We have a Slack channel for each entity, which keeps our process organized.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They're open to feedback and try to meet all of our needs. I'm quite a difficult client and I ask them a lot of questions, but they're very accommodating. If they make a mistake, they're great at acknowledging it, making up for it, and putting together a plan to make sure it doesn't happen again. For example, when we wrapped up our first quarter, we had a couple of issues with a few posts that were linking to the wrong sites. After I expressed my concern, they put together a new action plan.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like the two people I work with to talk and strategize internally rather than expect me to talk to each of them separately.

Have a clear idea of what you're looking to achieve and have a proper expectation of what they can do for you. They're very upfront about whether they can provide you with what you need.

They put up a brand new page for us on our website about refinishing plaques and within 24 hours I received two new jobs. Additionally, orders for ready-made items have become much more consistent since we started working with them.

They use BaseCamp and have been great at project management.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There is nobody here who works on IT or anything that has to do with social media. When we first started with them we explained that and from the very beginning I felt extremely confident and comfortable with the fact that they could take something that I needed done and work on it without input from me. They understood our business rather quickly and I don’t have to worry about watching everything that they do. You give them a project and they take it to levels that I didn't even think possible, so it has worked out really well.

Right now they're doing a fabulous job, so I haven't found anything for them to change so far.

I would advise anyone to at least give WebpageFX a look because they do very good work.

I'm the digital content manager at Mercy Corps, an international humanitarian aid nonprofit. We work in 40 countries, helping people respond to disasters and build long term sustainability for improved recovery in future disasters.

We needed help with SEO to improve our overall website performance. Our website had seen a decrease in traffic over the last year, so we felt it was a good time to overhaul our strategy when it comes to content.

Although the engagement is relatively new, their work has been incredibly helpful thus far. In a short time, the traffic has quadrupled on one of the first pages they helped us optimize. We're also seeing a significant uptick in traffic on other pages and have been featured by other outlets a few times.

Everything has been going very well thus far. We manage projects through Basecamp, as well as through email and Google Docs. I'm able to reach my project manager right away when I need to. We also have meetings every two weeks to walk through everything they're working on and future opportunities.

They're so enthusiastic about our work. It's not always easy to find agencies excited to work with a nonprofit, but they've gone above and beyond to learn about our work, asking strategic questions in the process.

My organization loves to get lots of updates. I've recently asked their team to provide us with weekly updates, so our team can become more aware of what's happening on the backend. Depending on your preference, you may want to set up a schedule for more frequent updates.

WebpageFX has done some restructuring on the backend of our website in order to get search engines to recognize and be more attracted to it. They also create some original content for us, especially long form blog articles.

A new manager recently replaced our original one, but both have been really great. They have always been very engaged and make sure we take the time to speak at least once a month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since working with them our SEO rankings have all increased. They have also written some really good pieces of content for us. They wrote one in particular that—for people not in the boat business—was really accurate and insightful.

How did WebpageFX perform from a project management standpoint?

One of the nice things about them is that they have been very consistent at staying in touch with us. We have an in-person meeting at least once a month, and they are great at keeping in communication. We mostly talk over the phone, but they also produce reports for us as needed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

At other companies everyone is really focused on SEO at the beginning. However, down the line they eventually have turnover or shift priorities and all of a sudden we are paying people to do SEO that aren’t really great at it. WebpageFX has clearly made it their goal to be a leader in SEO, and they have a great corporate structure that reflects that goal. Whereas before we never heard from anybody, we speak with WebpageFX at least once a month to stay updated on everything, and they are never going to change their priorities or expertise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is nothing I can think of for them to change. They’re communicating with me and letting me know that things are getting done, so I don’t have any criticism.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Take the time to answer their questions and enable them to do their best work. I am never short of things to do, but I think I owe it to my company and to WebpageFX to give them feedback so that they can do their job better. It only takes 15­–30 minutes to give them feedback, but it will pay off really big dividends in the end.
