Cofounder and Organizer at Indie Cup. Indie Cup is a digital festival of independent games. Each season focuses on unreleased games from local developers in a selected region. Currently, the biggest European online event for indies (400+ unique participants annually) and finally in North America (Canafa) this fall!

For what projects/services did your company hire VP Production, and what were your goals?

Make an audio brand for our event and develop new YouTube channel.

How did you select this vendor?

We met VP production team at several events in Ukraine and Europe. We also run a PR agency for games, and VP production successfully helped our client, the game FoxTail, with its OST and other audio aspects. We were fascinated by this work and found out that they doing audio branding too. So we tried

We had an interview about what our business is, what our clients are, what we want to develop in the future, and what the aim of these events is. After this, we were asked for any audio references that might help them. We had about 3 iterations in one week after the demo, before we get what we want!

2 people, Vlad himself as composer and owner, and Lana (can't be sure about her position, looks like account).

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Everything was smooth, and they were super responsive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are also real musicians (Total Empty is their band). So they could do an audio brand for a big bank or OST for some indie games, but this work is a hobby and its the secret I think.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For our cooperation everything was good.

I am a brand manager of MAUDAU, an online marketplace for everyday shopping.

For what projects/services did your company hire VP Production, and what were your goals?

Our business is at the stage of building a strong brand in the Ukrainian e-commerce market. We hired them to create an audio logo and audio brand that would express the company's values ​​for consistency in brand manifestation.

How did you select this vendor?

We liked their project for another client. We offered cooperation in order to achieve even more impressive results together.

Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.

To start, they analyzed brand positioning, market and competitors, and created auditory concepts for discussion with our team. Then they made auditory moodboards for discussion and approval with our team. Taking into account our wishes, they developed 2 audio-DNA demos. We tested these demos on our audience, and the guys conducted an analysis and report on the test. According to the conclusions of which, they created the final version of audio DNA. After that they created an audio logo and a brand track. Also, at our request, the guys from VP Production created assets with our sound for various promotional materials. The last stage of work involved the creation of an audio style guide so that we understand how and where to use all the materials.

I worked directly with two people who co-founded VP Production. One of them acted as a project manager, the second was engaged in the creative part of the work.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We got an audio logo and a sound that we use in our brand and product promotions. This helps to grow the knowledge of the MAUDAU brand.

They are very responsible and proactive guys. For communication on operational issues, we used the general chat in Telegram. We held online meetings when needed. We discussed important issues via e-mail (this is the internal policy of our company). The guys completed the project according to the deadline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

People from VP Production were not afraid to express his opinion frankly and honestly. To please the client personally and to make a quality product are two different things. I'm glad that the guys we worked with understand the difference.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In the context of our project, everything was fine!

What challenge were you trying to address with VP Production?

We worked together with VP Production for a music project.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

VP Production helped us with audio for a music production. They started the project by asking a series of questions and continued by researching music conception for each of our game's levels. Consequently, they gave us a demo that we presented at a festival we were attending.

What is the team composition?

We worked with ten people from their team, and our main point of contact was their manager of VP Production.

How did you come to work with VP Production?

We were looking for music producers, and VP Production's team contacted us with samples of their work. We chose them because we were impressed by what they could do and decided to give them a try after a few interviews.

How much have you invested with them?

We agreed to give them 15% of the income from the game.

What is the status of the engagement?

We worked together from July 2021–July 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We were satisfied with their work because they helped us produce great music for our game.

How did VP Production perform from a project management standpoint?

They were great with meeting deadlines and communicating with us — I gave them a perfect rating with project management. Regarding communication, we had daily meetings and used Zoom and Google Docs as our main tools.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were very good with communication and very professional at their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don't think there was anything they could do better — I had no complaints about their work because they did everything well.

Work with them as a team, and you'll achieve great results.

3. functional adaptations of the audio DNA for different video needs, including a signature cutaway sound effect.

I had never worked on my project with anyone before. That's why I was super nervous about collaborating with new creative professionals. But after several calls, I noticed that the VP Production team understands me and, most importantly, hears me and respects my needs. The dialogue was perfect because it was not just a simple discussion but structured work, analytics, and specific surveys conducted by the team to provide the best creative result.

Everything was delivered on time, right before I started producing my new videos.

What impressed me the most was that I just expressed my emotions, and the VP Production team understood them and turned them into sound! And then, at the final stage, I got high-quality audio that reflected my desires for the channel's presentation to the audience and differentiated it from other creators.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We chose VP Production because we liked their portfolio. During their test task they created several great tracks for us to chose from. They communicated really well and always kept to their time limits.

They created a soundtrack for each chapter of our game. First, we described the chapter for them and they proposed the music concept. Second, We discussed each track separately and they wrote the music. Third, we made some minor adjustments and got the finalised tracks from them.
