Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner of The Beehive Collective, a company that specializes in film and animation explainer videos. We’re located in Cape Town, South Africa.

What challenge were you trying to address with The Voice Scout?

We needed voiceovers for our videos. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Voice Scout does all the voiceovers for the videos I make for my end clients. They supply voice artists for our videos and do the recording. In some cases, they also handle the scripting. I make the videos myself and source my music from places that provide royalty- and copyright-free materials. The team sends me samples of the artists that can fit certain projects. Then, I send those samples to my clients. If the client approves, I send The Voice Scout a script, and they get the voiceovers done. They usually give me two variations of the voiceover: a fast one and a slow one. 

What is the team composition?

I work with one person from The Voice Scout, and they find voiceover artists that I might like. They have multiple artists in their portfolio. 

How did you come to work with The Voice Scout?

We found The Voice Scout through a referral. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spend about $2,000–$3,000 on their services per year. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our clients are happy, and we’ve gotten referrals from them. The videos we make are used all over the internet, such as on YouTube, company websites, and more. Oftentimes, they’re used by the clients to do their promotions. 

Overall, working with The Voice Scout has been a phenomenal experience. They’re efficient and fast under deadline pressure. For comparison, if we sign up on Fiverr, we’ll spend hours or days looking for someone; we’re not even sure if they can deliver. Then, we’ll get our project, and we’ll be uncertain if it will work out. 

By contrast, The Voice Scout ensures that the projects will work out as expected, so I’m willing to pay a premium for that. If I go to other services, we might experience problems that might in turn delay my production. That’s why I use The Voice Scout team — they guarantee they’ll deliver what I need when I want it. 

How did The Voice Scout perform from a project management standpoint?

They always answer my emails and phone calls. I normally use messaging services and emails to reach out to them, and they work quite well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When I want a unique voiceover talent, they’re creative in finding somebody that’s appropriate to my needs. They seem to cater to all types of accents and styles, and they always find the right person — that’s great. Overall, they have a diverse collection of people that they can pull in when needed. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I haven’t had issues with them.

Know that The Voice Scout provides phenomenal services and excellent quality. They’ll go to the end of the earth to keep costs down.
