BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Wellington content producer at Breakout Room. We specialise in content strategy and production services and service a number of New Zealand's largest brands, striving to always deliver outstanding content solutions to our clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Visual Works?

We were looking for a production company based near to, or in Ghana, to shoot a range of footage for our client. The content would then be used by us across a number of digital and social platforms.

What were your goals for this project?

We had a very clear plan on what our campaign assets would look like so had a very clear shot list. It was very important for this shot list to be adhered to as we had very specific placements and stories we were trying to tell with each piece of content.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I searched online extensively before finding 5 suppliers with portfolios which I think would be suitable for the client and at the standard we would expect. What made my decision to go for Dan at Visual Works, was his excellent and very prompt communications throughout the decision making process and his willingness to be flexible and work with us to find the right solution for the client.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

Once we had selected Daniel and his team, we set up a PPM to discuss the details of the shot list. I was very impressed that Daniel made sure to include all members from the crew on the PPM, and had clearly studied the shot list, asking relevant questions at all times. We provided a full shot list and we managed everything in pre-production and post-production. The scope of the work for Visual Works was filming on-the-ground in Ghana.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

Visual Works communications and project management was exceptional throughout. Daniel kept us informed, and when there were some small hiccups on the ground, he made sure to put a backup solution in place for us. We received over and above what had been requested, so we were very pleased indeed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have been very happy with the shots we received and thank Daniel and his team for this. The feedback we have received is that the quality of the footage was excellent and the speed at which we received it was exactly as had been requested.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Excellent workflow across the team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Above everything else, I was very impressed with the level of communication that we got from Daniel, this made the process very smooth and made us feel much more comfortable and trusting to outsource our production to a team overseas. I was also highly impressed with the team's quick-thinking on the ground, in the face of a couple of problems arising with footage upload speeds.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Some of the initial footage wasn't quite there on the first day of shooting, but Daniel and his team were very responsive to feedback and the quality increased dramatically once we were able to give the team some additional direction - I thought this was excellent. The overall quality of the service we received was excellent. Thank you Dan and team!!
