Set up of DevOps pipelines, with environments segregation for a web based FinTech produce.

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

Venturenox was able to provide the solution in the most cost-effective way given the remote nature of the job.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We needed to hire primarily DevOps and QA engineers for our client project. Our client is a large fintech company in North America and had complex pipelines and automation needs. The infrastructure itself has multiple deployment models which made the job a little more difficult.

Describe the recruitment process in detail.

We had a discovery call to discuss the project and which resources might be appropriate. After almost a week we started to receive candidate profiles who we interviewed and hired. We make routine payments to their account in US and they handle the rest.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

The engineers deployed on the project were very competent and knew what they were doing. Onboarding them to the projects was relatively easier. Screening process used by Venturenox was effective and we didn’t have to evaluate too many candidates at our side.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We created a connected slack channel between our workspaces where we communicated all the time. The screening and hiring process was established in the beginning and is working well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They understood our requirements very clearly and sent just the right candidates. They are a proper technology company and were able to make suggestions to our projects as well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?


I suppose it would’ve been better if they could hire engineers in a shorter span of time. However, when we did most of our hiring, there was a shortage of engineers and it was hard to onboard them.

I’m the founder and COO of RanknRole, a recruitment screening service for the tech industry.

What challenge were you trying to address with Venturenox?

We hired Venturenox to build the MVP of my vision for our software.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Venturenox has handled research, design, wireframing, coding, and website development for our cloud-based project. During the discovery phase, they identified challenges and competition for our product. Based on that discovery, they suggested that we change or enhance several features. They helped select features for the MVP, designed the app, helped us select the technologies that we used, and began development. 

They’ve built our cloud-based product using technologies including Google Suite, Google Cloud Platform, Figma, Apache Kafka, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, and the Angular framework. We’ve also undergone rounds of feedback for product improvements. They’re now providing support as we incorporate changes from user feedback on the beta version.

What is the team composition?

Our main contact has been Jaffar (Founder & CEO). I also work with their product owner, developers, and designers. At least six teammates have been consistently involved throughout the project, but the exact number has fluctuated depending on the needs of a given sprint.

How did you come to work with Venturenox?

My company’s co-founder referred me to Venturenox. We sampled many companies of different sizes from different locations and selected Venturenox. I liked that they didn’t overpromise — they gave me advice on aspects of my vision that might not work and advised me that I may want to pivot my strategy.

What is the status of this engagement?

I’ve been working with Venturenox since November 2020, and the relationship is ongoing. We’ve extended the project a bit to add more features. I plan to keep working with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve measured success through reports of what we set out to complete and what work has been performed. I’m satisfied with the quality of their work — I don’t have any major complaints. Their research has helped tremendously.

How did Venturenox perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is very good — they’re very responsive despite our time zone difference. We’ve managed the project using agile methodology, working in two-week sprints. We've coordinated with Venturenox via Jira, Microsoft Projects, Figma, Miro, Google Meet, and Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

This is my first startup, so I can’t really compare them to other providers. My fellow co-founders say that Venturenox is responsive and that they hit the mark with what they promise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Maybe they could improve at determining ahead of time that particular features and ideas are unviable before we’ve spent two sprints working on them. I’m not sure that Venturenox can do much about that, though, because it’s an inevitable part of building a startup and trying to deliver on a founder’s vision.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Try to identify what you want to build. If you can test a feature without going too deep into building it, that will save you time and cost.
