Introduce your business and what you do there.
My organization is a digital consulting agency. We work on everything digital across the board, such as web design, SEO, online marketing, and email marketing. We also advise companies on what they should do online for their business.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Uplers?
I was unable to customize the login page on the WordPress template that I had acquired. I tried to edit the account details, the account profile page, and the ‘register now’ button on our site. The only way I could do so was by redirecting that page; however, when I redirected it, I lost most of the functionality, couldn't reset the password, and couldn’t access the profile page.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
I asked Uplers if they could separate the login and registration pages. They used a basic, out-of-the-box login for the login page. That came with a template registration page, so I could then add the new registration form that I created.
What is the team composition?
I worked with an account manager, a project manager, and a developer.
How did you come to work with Uplers?
I had worked with them before on email templates when we’d had tight deadlines.
How much have you invested in them?
I spent £200 (approximately $250 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
This project was in July 2020. They started the work on a Thursday, and the delivery was the following Monday.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I’m already in this line of work, which makes it easier to explain exactly what you need. We screen shared and went through the requirements. It might work differently for other people, but it was straightforward for me. We had an agreement, and they told me what they could and couldn’t do.
How did Uplers perform from a project management standpoint?
Overall, communication was great. We communicated through Skype. They met the deadlines, and I was also attentive, which made things easier for them. When they responded to me, I got back to them, which is another thing that helps as well. Overall, I was very happy with the service.

Their communication and technical skills were good.

No.

As the project manager in the business, I have had incredible support from Paryusha over the past year. We have developed a very positive relationship and I trust her with all work that comes our way. We use Skype as our main form of comms, both video call and message. Although we're on the opposite sides of the world, I think we know each other very well from a professional and personal point of view. I really enjoy working with her. She is a very responsive, hard-working member of Uplers and has always got time to speak with me. This is a huge help and I am grateful for her commitment to our business.

We're always impressed with how fast the websites can be built and how adaptive the developers can be to our requests. The response time is very impressive from a comms point of view. Nothing is ever really missed.

We've spent lots of time improving our processes with Paryusha. We have developed a good system for estimating costs before we can start our design work. There are some times when there is a misunderstanding of the tasks needed to be completed but these are always dealt with fairly and very quickly.

We initially reached out to Uplers with design ideas and a project plan. They gave us clear instructions on the steps that we need to take to move this project forward. Once we approved their quote we got the design mockups prepared and delivered to the Uplers for the project, then waited for development to be completed. Once completed and QA'ed on the Uplers side they sent it over to us for the same, we asked for small changes and tweaks which the Uplers executed on, and after the final QA we went live.

Communication has been superb.

The team composition on our end consisted of the Brand Director and myself. The Uplers had their internal development team, along with two project managers we communicated with.

Our website solution is almost complete. We are populating the website with content daily and testing it before we go live. If we run into any issues they are quickly resolved by the Uplers.

Project management was exceptional. Bizan and Vignesh are excellent at communicating with us, almost daily. They go above and beyond for their customers.

Ongoing communication. They have both the desire and the ability to do right by their clients. They work tirelessly to make sure any issues that pop-up are resolved in a timely fashion. Their quality continues to be great, and consistent regardless of who we primarily work with.

They are focused internally on continuous improvement. This is shown by implementing software that allows us to edit live on page designs. As long as they continue to have a "customer first" mentality and a desire to perfect their craft I would only expect them to continue to expand. How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Uplers are very transparent when it comes to managing expectations and providing realistic deadlines. They are quick to follow up and request feedback. We use email and Bugherd to provide feedback, and occasionally, Zoom, if a video call is required.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Uplers offer competitive pricing and are experts in their field, that is why they are our go-to partners. They come highly recommended. Language has never proven to be a barrier, nor have time zone differences.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There are sometimes a pull on resources, however, that hasn't been helped with the current COVID19 climate.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Whistic has created a two-sided network that helps both buyers and sellers of technology products move quickly through the security review process, and in many cases to bypass them altogether. I'm VP Marketing.

For what projects/services did your company hire Uplers?
I hired Uplers to develop our website, and to create a complicated bit of animation that operates through scrolling on the site. I've never seen a product like they delivered, but we talked through it and they delivered precisely what we asked for. It's a beautiful piece of work that our sales team finds valuable in explaining the products we offer.
What were your goals for this project?
To create a showpiece for the company that is both beautiful and functional. Our old website was very dated and didn't explain quickly what we do. We've received lots of comments since the new site launched that it's very easy to now understand our value proposition and our place in the market.
SOLUTION
How did you select this vendor?
My initial thought was that I'd use a local vendor as I thought it would be easier to manage the process. Ravi was very attentive and I was comfortable that he understood our business and what we were trying to achieve.
I placed my confidence in the team based on the early relationship I built with him. Pricing from Uplers was fair, and it allowed us to go beyond our initial scope and develop a site much better than initially envisioned.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
We provided most of the creative assets as we were simultaneously going through a rebranding exercise. They built our site exactly as we requested, and added many nice touches of their own. We were particularly impressed by Dhruvin and his team as they took ownership of the project early and delivered quick prototypes for us to review.
This made the whole project work well. I mentioned the scrolling animation earlier, but it's an especially impressive bit of work. When I showed it to the company they all started clapping - it was beyond anything they expected.

Ravi was the initial contact until development got into full swing, then Dhruvin took over. He managed the other team members and always delivered on time. At our office, it was primarily me and our designer. Small teams on both ends, but together we created a beautiful web presence for the company.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The site is still new, as is our ability to track metrics, but our inbound leads for our first month with the new site were the highest we've seen in 5 months, so we're on the right track.
And something that's really important to me, it's useful for the sales team. It has the depth that we needed and the clarity to make complex concepts easy to understand.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
We really had a single point of contact, Dhruvin, who was very responsive. I have to say that it was a pleasant experience working with the Uplers team, and we're continuing to engage with them because of it.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Callshark. We make analytics tools for phone calls.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Uplers?
I originally reached out to have them design some email templates for us. The emails we sent to customers were just plain text; they didn’t have a design around them. We were looking for an email template that we could use for all of the messages that we send out from our platform. We send thousands of emails, so we wanted them to look nice and be consistent with the brand.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We knew what we needed the email for, but we didn’t know what we wanted it to look like. For instance, we knew we’d need an email to welcome users to their account, or for users who forgot their password. We explained that we wanted a clean, modern look, and we let Uplers see what they came up with.
Uplers took our brand, logo, colors, and design requirements and built a really nice-looking email template that has buttons and can include videos and things like that. We loved their work right off the bat; we had some feedback, which we emailed to them, and they made those changes. It was just an easy process.
We discovered that they offer other services, like managing entire ad campaigns. Now that the email project is done, we’ve asked them to design a bunch of different banners that we can use in our marketing campaigns. After that, we’ll probably have them help manage our advertising, too.
What is the team composition?
I’ve been in contact with about seven different people, including a project manager, designers, and developers.
How did you come to work with Uplers?
I did a Google search for email template designers, and they came up first. I actually reached out to 3–4 other design firms and hired multiple, but I ended up choosing them because they did an absolutely awesome job. They did better than anybody else that we hired.
Their project manager reached out 30 minutes after I sent the initial request. He introduced himself and connected me with their design team, who took the process from there and produced some initial designs.
How much have you invested with them?
The original email template was around $300. The banner ads that we just started doing with them will be around $300, but we’ll probably do another 10 of those. Total project cost in the next 90 days will be several thousand dollars.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our work together began in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The service is great. When I reached out to these different companies, some of them took 2–3 days to email back, but Uplers took 30 minutes, and that went a long way. Throughout the project, they’ve been super responsive to questions, changes, and ideas, so I think they’re great.
How did Uplers perform from a project management standpoint?
They over communicate, if anything. They provide details at every step of the way. The first email had a rough timeline as to what to expect and how the process would work. They followed that timeline exactly; in fact, they beat the date that they were supposed to have everything done, so I was really happy in the end. We use Trello for project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work stands out. Having hired around 150 designers over my career, it’s been my experience that when you outsource work, you can get varying quality. It’s great to find a company that does what they say they’re going to do, and they do it well and on time. I wanted to leave a review for them because they did such an awesome job.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don’t think so. Everything was super easy. Their website was really laid out and clear, so I was able to order my work completely online. The pricing was transparent; there were no hidden fees.
Any advice for potential customers?
We spent some time really thinking about what we wanted so that we could give some direction and have a general idea of where to go. I think that was super helpful to them. When you start a project, sitting down and narrowing down what you want first is time well-spent.
Also, be responsive and ready for them to communicate well. They really rolled up their sleeves to help me. I feel like they did a better job than they committed to.
