TruFocus was brought on to capture footage at our manufacturing facility, along with employee interviews, to create a company overview video. Filming included scenes from our production floor, office, and a customer ice cream shop location. The final 3–5 minute video was thoughtfully edited to highlight Meadowvale’s history, values, and our commitment to serving frozen dessert businesses with premium dairy mixes.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

This was our first time hiring a video production company and the results were great.

Our company overview video was presented at a company-wide meeting and received enthusiastic positive feedback from the entire Meadowvale team.

We also showcased this video at an awards dinner during a national purchasing conference.

We signed a retainer contract for the rest of the year to continue working with TruFocus on our social media platforms due to great results.

Sales director immediately requested to use the video for a new account presentation that same week, validating its effectiveness as a business development tool.

Met the tight January 30th deadline for their industry award submission, completing two rounds of revisions within the compressed timeline.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

During our production shoot, the TruFocus team was both respectful and attentive while capturing footage throughout our facility. They worked seamlessly around our team, prioritizing safety and minimizing disruption while still capturing strong, meaningful visuals. Their attention to detail ensured all the right moments were captured, and once filming was complete, their turnaround time was exceptional.

Are there any areas for improvement or something TruFocus Productions could have done differently?

The only area I’d refine would be the staff interviews. On our end, we could have been better prepared in how we approached them (no fault of TruFocus). Chris did a great job stepping in to lead the interviews, and he had shared helpful guidance beforehand. 
In hindsight, it may have helped to share a few examples of similar interviews to give everyone a clearer sense of tone and expectations. That said, as this was our first video, it was a great learning experience for all of us! (and maybe our team is just shy on camera!)

TruFocus did a lot of planning leading up to the event, and asked a lot of questions and asked for examples of things similar to this we have done in the past. Our company held a one day event for our team of educators and distributors that was full of educaton, new product discussions, and a live demonstration.

We wanted the event to be filmed so that we could use it for social media and for bringing on new people into the company. We wanted to showcase how important the role of education is in our industry, and how we are doing things that no other brand does in our space.

The video speaks for itself, the team was really able to delivery everything that we were looking for in this video. We only went back a couple of times with edits, and they quickly saw our vision and made it happen. I anticipated a lot more back and forth than what really happened. They are very talented, communicative, and easy to work with.

The Midwest Invasive Plant Network is a small non-profit organization. As the Coordinator, I am responsible for all program elements, including budgeting, planning, program work, education and outreach, social media, meeting coordination, etc.

We hired TruFocus to record, produce and edit ten short informational videos about invasive woody plants of concern in the Great Lakes region. The videos were to be shared on the project website and via social media.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Vendor was selected based on collection of quotes. Deciding factors included competative pricing, proximity to filming location, over-all helpfullness and friendliness during the quote-generation/discovery process, and interest in the subject area of the videos.

First phase was contracting (via the Morton Arboretum, MIPN's fiscal agent). Second phase was scheduling and sharing of information about shooting locations and video scripts (I generated these). Third phase was shooting, done over two days. Fourth phase was editing. Final phase was file transmission and publication.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I primarily worked with Chris, the business owner, to plan each phase and to complete the project. The shooting crew included two additional technicians to manage sound and lighting. The feedback process was pretty seamless. Chris was waiting for answers from me far more often than I was waiting on him.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were ending a grant for which the videos were a required deliverable, so it was really important for us to finish them to the specifications in the grant, and on time, which we did. Chris also helped me think about roll-out on our YouTube channel to help boost engagement. So far, these videos are getting more viewers than MIPN's videos typically do, and I think they will continue to accumulate views over time, since the material isn't easily outdated.

Chris was very responsive and honestly did a better job of keeping things on time than I did. Communication was both by email and phone. I also liked the app they used for edits where you could put your comments in associated with a timestamp on the video, which I felt saved time over putting them in an email or word processing doc, etc. No complaints at all.

This was my first time really working with a video production company. I was a bit nervous about the whole thing and I was impressed by how painless it was to work with TruFocus. Consummate professionals!

At our first in-person event since COVID, we had a guest speaker at our networking breakfast. We needed TruFocus to film the event, as well as provide an edit that incorporated the speakers slides, etc.

How did you select TruFocus Productions and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for video production companies via general web search as well as thumbtack.com. TruFocus was willing to give us prorated pricing (we needed them for less than half a day) and seemed to be the most professional/highest quality for the price point. Chris was responsive and helpful in the consultation call.

We had a consultation call. Then TruFocus came to the event and filmed. I supplied slides to incorporate as well as logistical information a head of time. We received the edit about a week later.

We worked with Chris, who was super helpful and accommodating on site. The feedback process went smoothly. We only had one note that was addressed promptly.
