The primary scope of work involved the advanced front-end customisation of a B2B print portal (MarketDirect StoreFront / MDSF) to serve one of our high-profile clients, a major global consulting firm. 

Because standard out-of-the-box configurations could not meet this client's complex requirements, we engaged Traction Print to completely overhaul the portal's behavior. 

Key deliverables included: 

• Custom B2B Portal Development: Tailoring the standard MDSF environment to fit the exact enterprise procurement needs of the global consulting firm.
• Advanced Checkout Customisation: Designing and implementing highly specific workflows and conditional logic on the checkout page. 
  
  
• Front-End JavaScript Engineering: Writing all the necessary custom JavaScript to drive these bespoke checkout behaviors entirely from the front end.
  
  
• UX Design Enhancements: Translating complex business logic into a seamless, intuitive user experience so the client's employees could easily navigate the custom workflows.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project delivered immediate, measurable improvements in both our operational efficiency and the client’s user experience. 

Key outcomes included: 

Order Automation & Time Saved: We achieved a 95% automation rate for orders placed through the portal. Because Traction Print seamlessly integrated the front-end MDSF logic with our PrintSmith MIS, complex orders now flow directly to the production floor, saving our team roughly 5 hours of manual data entry and prepress intervention per week. 

Rapid User Adoption: The highly customised, intuitive checkout process resulted in a frictionless launch for the client. Within the first 30 days, the consulting firm successfully processed over 50 transactions through the new system with zero front-end technical errors. 

On-Time Delivery: Despite the complex JavaScript engineering required to manipulate the out-of-the-box system, Traction Print delivered the fully functioning portal within the strict 2-week deadline required by our client.

Their project management was outstanding from start to finish. Despite the technical complexity of writing custom JavaScript to override standard MDSF workflows, Traction Print delivered the entire portal on time and strictly adhered to our deployment schedule. 

What stood out most was how they responded to our needs. We were dealing with very rigid, highly specific checkout requirements from a major global consulting firm. Traction Print never pushed back with "the software can't do that", instead, they proactively found front-end workarounds to make the system behave exactly how our client needed it to.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The most impressive and unique thing about Traction Print is their rare combination of skill sets. In my experience, you usually have to choose between a web developer who writes great custom code but doesn't understand print workflows, or a print software expert who is limited to out-of-the-box settings. Traction Print brings both to the table. 

Their deep, native understanding of niche print operations, MarketDirect StoreFront (MDSF), and PrintSmith is perfectly matched with their advanced UX design and front-end JavaScript capabilities. Because they speak the language of print perfectly, we never had to waste time translating our operational needs into "developer speak." They instantly understood the business logic we needed for our enterprise client and had the technical chops to actually build it. That dual expertise makes them an incredibly unique and invaluable partner in the print tech space.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Traction Print could have done differently?

Honestly, there isn't anything I would ask them to change about how they handled this project. They hit every milestone and delivered a flawless solution for a very demanding enterprise client. If anything, my only regret is that we didn't engage them sooner for previous MDSF and PrintSmith integrations, as it would have saved us a lot of time and internal headaches!
