Thinkpalm team is 50% of the entire R&D group working on this project. The project is a L2+L3 switch/router, sold for the leading world-wide service providers. TP team are responsible for design and development of main features which are defined by our customers. We are working in Agile mode, SOW is updated every few weeks. Since this specific project started, we delivered at least 6 versions to the customer, on-time with good quality.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Initially, we contacted ThinkPalm Technologies to comprehensively upgarde our PERDIXPro IoT platform and associated app.  This included:

1) Providing a reliable, flexbile and expandable SaaS platform

2) Provide a user friendly app for android and IOS.

3) Collect, interpret and manage data, including images, received from connected devices.

4) Allow users to set and receive alerts on received activities .

5) Allow account administrators to determine different roles for users.

6) Allow users to manage and pay for device subscriptions via their portal.

 These initail deliverables were met without fault and so this gave our company confidence in moving forward with the next version of the system.  This version principally revolved around the following:

1) Allow dynamic project structure creation by account holders

2) Allow  dynamic role creation by account holders

3) Create a comprehensive form builder and associated app for the collection of wildlife data by users and non-account holders (citizen sceintists).

4) Integrate AI functionality for the automatic recognition and processing images.

Again, we were provided exactly as required and have now begun work on the next version!

The relationship that has been established between PERDIX and ThinkPalm goes beyond simple spreadsheet measurables.  The solutions they provide work and we completely trust them to deliver each and ever time.

All delieverables were met on time. A key aspect of our relationship with ThinkPalm, is the openess and constant cotact that we receive. They may be a large company but they care about their clients, irrespective of size.

I truely hope that ThinkPalm continue as they have done during the whole of our relationship thus far.  I wish I could provide a negative to make my reveiew more believable but, I honestly can't!

Since the initial days of the company, our relationship with ThinkPalm Technologies can be described as them being an extension of our development capacity. We have managed our services in house with Thinkpalm working side by side to support specific customer initiatives. ThinkPalm Technologies has also helped support some of our cloud infrastructure.

When we started in 2018, we wanted somebody who would be part of the journey with us as we evolved. In that sense, we felt that ThinkPalm Technologies could be the right type of company, and we continue working with them.

We started working with ThinkPalm Technologies in February 2018, and we have an ongoing partnership.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our business has grown, and our priorities have changed. ThinkPalm Technologies is flexible in adapting to those requirements. We do track their performance on a monthly basis, but I prefer not to disclose it.

How did ThinkPalm Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate using email, phone calls, and Zoom. They take ownership of the delivery process and make sure that if anything is wrong, they fix it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

ThinkPalm is an extremely good company to work with — the leadership and management team are committed to the relationship with us. Throughout our journey with them, they make sure they understand our plan and the initiatives that they need to support. ThinkPalm is also flexible in terms of engagement. As business needs and priorities change, they are willing to reinvent the way they engage with us and move forward from there.

Are there any areas they could improve?

ThinkPalm Technologies' core expertise is in technology project delivery. They have an opportunity in managed services that they can extend their footprint on.

Any advice for potential customers?

If you're running a project or developing a product, be sure to have a well-defined scope. Also, be clear on the metrics that you're trying track to ensure that your priorities are mutually aligned.

I’m a software group manager at RADA electronics industry, and we develop tactical radars.

What challenge were you trying to address with ThinkPalm Technologies?

Our internal staff is not enough to manage all our ongoing projects. We needed someone to support our software development team, so we hired ThinkPalm.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

ThinkPalm provides developers to work alongside our team. They support our projects in various degrees, and we assign them anything from developing drivers for new hardware to UI development.  

One of our current projects is benchmarking mathematical libraries that were provided by Microsoft. We use many mathematical operations in our development, and to do it efficiently, we use special libraries. ThinkPalm conducts benchmarking for many typical mathematical operations using our two libraries, IPP and MKL. They are measuring results in each library, and they will prepare a comprehensive report about the benchmark outcome. This will be the basis of our decision on which library to use to build our operational software. 

What is the team composition?

For our benchmarking project, we have two engineers and a project manager working with our team. 

How did you come to work with ThinkPalm Technologies?

They made a pitch to me 10 years ago when I was a department manager at a different company. We evaluated ThinkPalm’s offer and compared it with other vendors, some of them in Europe. We detailed what each vendor can provide. From that process, we decided to go with ThinkPalm.

They did well with our initial project, and I continued working with them ever since, even in my current company. I know that I can trust the quality of their work, as well as their work ethic.

How much have you invested with them?

Overall, we’ve spent around $500,000–$1 million. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2011, and our partnership is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The code ThinkPalm delivers to us undergoes our QA process, and in general, it is high quality. We encounter 1–2 issues, but they are reasonable. We know that they conduct their own QA before they send us their code. 

ThinkPalm is ISO 9000-certified, so they develop according to defined industry standards and procedures. This applies to their requirements and designs, as well as their review implementation and testing. Since they follow this process, the quality of their code is guaranteed to be high.

We have done many projects with ThinkPalm, and all of them are successful.

How did ThinkPalm Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

ThinkPalm works in a systematic way. At the beginning of the project, they provide a project plan that they will send to us for review. Once we approve it, they diligently follow the plan per milestone. They keep their promises and deliver as scheduled, and they never miss key parts of the project. 

ThinkPalm is very predictable as a partner, so it is easy to work with them. Their timely delivery is important for our development process, because if they don’t deliver in time, we will experience delays — that never happens, though. 

They work in agile and waterfall methodologies. Each week, they send detailed project status reports, and it includes detailed planning for the next week, issues that they encounter, and if they require anything from our end. ThinkPalm is very transparent. 

If we want to expedite a project, they can easily find more engineers and deploy them immediately. They always accommodate us. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

ThinkPalm is a good company to work with. I never had to consider another vendor since I started working with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything worth mentioning at the moment. They are always improving. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I recommend that they work with ThinkPalm. They are a company you can trust to do business in good faith — for us, that’s as important as their technical skills. All aspects of their business are good. I know the other companies who work with them are also quite happy.

We needed help with image processing using deep learning.

SOLUTION

Can you describe the scope of work ThinkPalm Technologies handled for this project?

ThinkPalm Technologies developed an image processing program using deep learning. The team used an object detection program based on TensorFlow to build the deliverables.

What is the team composition?

We don’t know how many teammates from ThinkPalm Technologies were assigned to our project.

How did you come to work with ThinkPalm Technologies?

We met ThinkPalm Technologies at an exhibition. We chose them because they offered good value for the cost.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with ThinkPalm Technologies from November 2015–November 2016.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

ThinkPalm Technologies delivered a program that could detect specific objects. The team could count parts and find defects on a product, such as dents and scratches. The detection accuracy depended on the objects to be detected.

How did ThinkPalm Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive or unique about them?

We were impressed by ThinkPalm Technologies’ ability to incorporate new technologies with real-world applications.

There’s nothing they could have improved.
