We did some planning and prep, prepared questions and talked about shooting locations. The process was smooth and professional and the interview process was very comfortable and interesting.

We worked with the project manager, film team and the editing team afterward to get copies of relevant footage for use on other projects.

We had the delivery of our first all-electric LionC school bus in British Columbia and we needed to cover the event as well as grab quotes for a full testimonial video to promote our arrival in the province.

The deliverables were as follows:

• 1x 3min video (V1 without CC, and V2 with CC) (both in 4K and 1080p)
• 1x shortened version of the previous video (about 1min 20s)

Tetra Films made sure to ask the right questions and figure out our entire needs during the pre-prod, activated the full scale of their on-field skills during the event for filming, and then did the editing of the videos as well.

Their attention to detail and asking the right questions at the right time, and making sure that we were all aligned and on the same page throughout the entire project. Also, they are extremely well-skilled, and the final product shows it very well!

Are there any areas for improvement or something Tetra Films could have done differently?

I always love to give constructive feedback, but in Tetra Films' case... Not possible! They really were a gem to work with, and they really covered all the bases needed to make things go extremely well and smoothly. In one sentence: Tetra Films has a 'measure twice (or even thrice!), cut once' approach, which really fitted perfectly with our workflow and process as well.

Our company is Epicure. We are a spice blend and shelf-stable meal solution company with a manufacturing facility in North Saanich, BC. Our market is Canada and the US, and use a direct sales force of 16,000 consultants and ambassadors vs traditional retail. I work in our People & Wellness division. My focus is on Safety, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) as well as Customer Experience Excellence.

Our VP of People & Wellness, Robin Ambrose, was a nominee for the Manufacturing Safety Alliance of BC annual safety awards. She was nominated for an award in Leadership Excellence in Safety. Tetra films was compiling the nominee video reels. We decided to hire Tetra Films to do additional filming so that we could have ownership of the great work they did while onsite.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We had met the crew virtually for several meetings for the award nomination videos, and then during filming, and liked their approach and collaborative energy. We decided to hire them to add more Epicure-specific video as we felt it was a good fit, and utilized some of the work they were already doing onsite for the award reel.

There were initial questionaires, followed by team virtual meetings, and really clear specific communications and schedules for the filming. There was no ambiguity, and the entire team was very responsive. The day of filming started with the interviews. We changed the location due to lighting, and the team did so without fuss, or confusion. They were adaptable and able to command the situation as experts, and not leaving the client to waffle over the decisions.

The filming process was very professional, and the team had great feedback and advice for putting us at ease as people who are not used to being on camera. The questions were pre-planned so that answers could be formulated, however when (mine in particular) were feeling a bit stiff, the producer was able to go off-script to get a more genuine emotion for the interview.

The crew was small and unobtrusive, as we were going to be on a working production warehouse and assembly line. They had their shots in mind, but were also able to capture situations as they unfolded organically. The team had an idea of where they wanted to shoot, so that they could help drive the agenda.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked with Will and Lisa and their camera person the day-of. Before-hand and when discussing b-roll, Brice and JM were involved. Feedback was prompt, professional and came from a place of experience.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video was used at our New Leaders Retreat home office tour this past June, to highlight our safety program. It was great to be able to show the new leadership folks what Home Office is like, and the care and safety we put into our Home Team Members and our products. The video was polished and professional, and gave it legitimacy.

Project Management style was thorough and driven by the Tetra team, which as the client made it very easy to "follow along" and not feel bogged down by another project. Timeliness was great, the team always came with an agenda of what they wanted to discover in the meeting or the film day.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

It can sometimes be difficult to work with companies who are based off the Island. We were not made to feel it was an imposition, and the team was prepared for the extra time and logistics travelling by ferry can be.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Will did have to give a lot of direction to the camera person. Perhaps they were newer or a last minute addition to the project. I recall the person was very nice, but that it seemed like Will did need to explain the shots in more detail than I would have expected from an experienced camera operator.

We hired Tetra Films to produce a series of award finalist videos, profiling health and safety leaders and advocates at a variety of BC manufacturing companies. In addition, we asked them to develop a year-in-review video for our AGM and a number of promo clips for upcoming events. Our goals were to elevate our events and raise the profile of member companies who were doing exceptional work to keep their people healthy and safe.

We selected Tetra following a competitive RFQ process. Their storytelling approach, manufacturing experience, and pricing all aligned well with our goals—and they were outstanding partners in planning our shoots to ensure we could recycle and repurpose content for multiple videos.

We liked Tetra Films' storyboarding and scriptwriting collaborative process so much, we invited them to present a webinar to our member companies about how they could leverage video—and these techniques—to create their own safety videos. The Tetra team understood the challenges of filming in diverse manufacturing environments, and our member companies appreciated their gracious approach, great advice, and flexible, can-do attitudes.

In the months since they completed the work on our videos, they have booked jobs with a number of the companies who were part of the filming as well. Post-production was equally collaborative, with a simple online toolset to support communications. We were thrilled with the high quality of the clips they produced. And when I went back to them to request some additional promo clips for another upcoming event, they knew the interview content so well, they were able to pull exactly what I needed based on my topic suggestions.

We worked primarily with partners Brice and Will, partner Aaron, and a number of other team members in the filming and project management. They have always been exceptionally responsive to our requests and needs.

The award videos did their job, making our annual Pinnacle Awards event feel like the Oscars—and our award-winners and finalists feel like stars. We are now reusing that video content in the nomination process for the new year's awards.

One of the things that impressed us about Tetra Films was that they have mature systems for every stage of the process. They introduced those systems early, used them consistently—yet they were flexible enough to incorporate our team into the process.

They are just absolutely dedicated to defining the story, helping those in front of the camera tell the story—and putting it all together in a compelling package. They made the process of working with them on a complex project with a tight timeline feel easy.

I'd love to have more budget to do more!
