I'm a department head at a managed service provider. We build software and integrations that our client's end customers touch.

We hired them for software development and integrations.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tech Vedika Inc. provides us with outsourced development resources, including front- and backend developers, database engineers, and DevOps experts. For example, if we need help with UI/UX development, they provide a frontend developer who essentially becomes our outsourced employee. 

Their developers have used Angular and HTML5 for frontend development. For the backend, they’ve worked with Java. They’ve used SQL and PostgreSQL for the database and AWS, Google Cloud Platform, and on-premise SQL for DevOps. 

What is the team composition?

We work with 12–15 developers and a project manager from Tech Vedika Inc. I’m also in contact with the owner. 

How did you come to work with Tech Vedika Inc.?

We found them through a reference 3–4 years ago. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent at least $500,000 with Tech Vedika Inc. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around January 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our only metric for Tech Vedika Inc.’s success is project completion. They help us scale quickly and bring in new talent or different skill sets when needed. Their results are overall good, and whenever we have challenges, I talk to Tech Vedika Inc.’s owner, and they help me address any issues. 

How did Tech Vedika Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is good. However, we’ve had to do a lot of management to keep track of their work. We communicate via Microsoft Teams, Slack, and email and have our repositories and tickets on GitLab. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tech Vedika Inc. is willing to work very diligently. Although our time zones are different, the team is willing to stay up late to meet our deadlines. Overall, they’re very dedicated and hardworking. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could ensure their talent is of the highest quality. If someone has a job title relating to databases, they should ensure that the person is very good at working with databases. 

We don’t vet the resources they send to us; if they tell us the developers are good, we trust that. Sometimes teammates are good, but we’ve also had bad experiences and have had to swap teammates. They should vet their resources for us to avoid those bad experiences. I’ve already spoken to Tech Vedika Inc.’s owner about this feedback. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Set your expectations from the beginning; let Tech Vedika Inc. know exactly what you need to be done. Additionally, understand that offshore development has its pros and cons. The biggest con is the time zone difference; some tasks will be finished the next day.

Please describe your company and your position there.

CEO of a recruiting solution focused on supporting clients needing to fill high volume frontline hourly roles.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Tech Vedika Inc., and what were your goals?

Our gaol is to develop an 'all-in-one' solution to facilitate speed from apply to offer, and to remove the operational friction (candidate screening, interview scheduling and interview mechanics) for getting qualified candidates in front of hiring managers who serve in desk-less roles.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our CTO had worked with the Tech Vedika team on previous projects.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We initially began with an R&D type of budget, with highly-focused spend and used MS Azure database and other tools to integrate until our problem was identified.

At that point we have increasingly moved to custom development, supplementing with partners (Sendgrid/Twilio) and other open source tools for customizing certain pieces and building from scratch as we have moved to accommodate for scale.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There have consistently been between 6-8 TV team members, although we have expanded the team to tackle other projects or enhancements such as security (WAF) development and data visualization (BI). Backend engineers and data architects, UX/UI developers, QA and project managers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The development team overall has proven to be really strong in maintaining the core concept architecture, which has shown through as our solution has become more complex over time. I continue to be impressed by the speed of our system, as we have layered on more complex database queries and increased our need to build interconnected data elements.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

Overall communication has been good and consistent. With increasing project complexity, our Product Manager and the TV lead Engineer developed a weekly cadence for demos and reviewing sprint releases, break fix and bug/issue resolution. We heavily utilize Azure for managing the development process and keeping the US and India teams in sync.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality of the team members and their genuine willingness to dig in to resolve issues and keep the team updated has been great--all while navigating a global pandemic from nearly the onset of our relationship. I credit that to the leadership of their CEO Sangineni.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The main area for improvement in our case is being able to better forecast sprint timelines and the various challenges that may be faced---not discovering them during the process.

TechVedika team constitute about 80% of our technology team. Over the last four years, the partnership has developed and apart from doing the dev work, they also support our product.

We started with three teammates in 2018, but we’re now up to 30, includes software engineers, DevOps engineers, and software, Cloud, and solutions architects.

Our current yearly billing rate is about $1 million. 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement began in July 2018.

TechVedika provides the best talent to build the best products and playing significant role in generating $20+ million in revenue this year.

How did Tech Vedika Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Tech Vedika team uses Jira and GitHub to manage projects. Most of our communication is through Slack and Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Tech Vedika Software is excellent at providing us with highly qualified resources. We haven’t even looked for a secondary partner because Tech Vedika Software provides us with excellent resources that deliver on time. The partnership works well for us. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything negative to say about the partnership.

I highly recommend customers look for the right resources at the beginning of the partnership to ensure the partnership develops well.

I'm the CEO of a technology company in Sunnyvale, California, that enables creators to launch their standard streaming.

What challenge were you trying to address with Tech Vedika Software?

I hired them to build a platform that can scale using my ideas.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Tech Vedika Software has built our mobile and web platforms from scratch. The platforms are mainly for music and entertainment events. The fans who want to access their different events can do it on the platform and buy tickets and watch the content live. They can also access existing, on-demand content for both video and audio. We have different networks and channels, and fans can access and engage with the content as it's being uploaded. 

What is the team composition?

I work with about 20 teammates on the project. We have a project manager,  UI developers, backend developers, mobile app developers, a QA lead, and a chief and supporting architect.

How did you come to work with Tech Vedika Software?

I was looking for an outsourcing partner who could meet our different requirements. We searched for many companies and did extensive interviews. We shortlisted about five companies, but Tech Vedika met all our requirements.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested more than $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It has taken us about a year and nine months to create the platform. During this process, we had a lot of test runs of the software. The platform works as intended — allowing creators to set up their accounts. We are currently looking to start the next round of user sign-ups.

How did Tech Vedika Software perform from a project management standpoint?

Deadlines are met for the most part, but there are minor cases of delays due to changes in priorities. Tech Vedika Software uses Atlassian and Redmine for project management. They also customized WeTrack for us. Communication occurs daily through morning and evening calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their services, cost, and delivery times are impressive.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Initially, we did not have all the documentation ready before it was converted into something tangible. But we have matured along the way. Now when we have requirements, we create corresponding design documentation and wireframes.

Any advice for potential customers?

Customers should ask what's possible with their available funds. Issues happen when you don't have enough details on how the requirements are supposed to work in a specific scenario.
