The only minor area for improvement would be to further enhance the speed of communication during peak development phases. We had two main objectives in working with Techugo: build an improved social media app and seamlessly transfer all of the existing data to  the new app without disrupting our current user base. 

We had an existing app with 10k+ users. Our app is for daily posting with friends so there is a lot of data and many users who are active on the app, daily. We needed to transfer all of this data into the newly built 2.0 version of our app. It was important for our users not to have to download a new app, but rather just easily update it in their appstore.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Techugo is incredibly organized and dedicated to staying on the expected timeline. Each week we had an update call to go over progress on the build. Communication is never an issue so if a question arises sooner and a discussion is needed we would schedule an impromptu Zoom call or talk over the phone. 

The project timeline is determined from the start, then broken up into equal parts. You use those as major checkpoints so as the customer you always know what the outcome should be by the date. 

As the customer I was being updated what Techugo was working on each week and knew what needed to be accomplished at each checkpoint.

We had the best project manager working on the project. Techugo's management is comprehensive and committed to delivering the best results. 

Our project manager is very knowledgeable and can help make instrumental recommendations, where we were seeking guidance. Techugo understands the need to move quickly but will never compromise quality. Our project checkpoints were always delivered on time and as expected.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Communication and customer service are incredibly impressive at Techugo. We had initial reservations about how communication would work with our operation on EST and Techugo based on IST. Communication was never an issue as 4 pathways were established to communicate with our team or project manager and a response is always timely. Techugo takes a lot of pride in their work and is always seeking the best outcome. As a result, their customer service is exceptional and results-driven!

I'm the business head of a B2C e-commerce platform that provides home services by connecting service providers to users. We onboard service providers based on their skill set and ability to do specific tasks so customers can book the service from their homes. We operate in Qatar and plan to expand to different countries.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techugo?

We needed a technology partner to design and develop our mobile application.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Once we engaged with Techugo, the team shared their work plan and showed us the app's design and wireframes. The team then moved into production and developed the app using iOS and Android native languages, as well as React. We've requested Techugo to use native languages to maximize the scope of alterations if we need to do them further in the project. Techugo has designed the app using Figma and Adobe XD, and the app's hosting and maintenance are in AWS.

Our agreement with Techugo is on a deliverable basis. The team started with wireframes and design and then delivered the app's MVP. Techugo has just finished the app's revamped version, which is live and running, and is working on additional advancements and maintenance. 

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is Priyanshi (Project Manager), and we also work closely with Ankit (Founder & COO), who monitors the project's progress since we're at an early startup stage. Ankit is actively involved in decisions, and I also interact with an Android developer, an iOS developer, a backend developer, a designer, and a quality analyst who manages testing and maintenance. 

How did you come to work with Techugo?

We were scouting for technology partners online and contacted different service providers based on their experience and past work. We shared the project's scope with Techugo and discussed what we were trying to do. After receiving the team's response and suggestions, we decided Techugo was the right partner.

We've spent around $75,000–$80,000 ballpark.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our initial discussions with Techugo started in November 2022, and we onboarded the team in the third week of January 2023. We have an ongoing agreement with Techugo.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We're at an early stage of sharing metrics and don't have many ratings recorded on application stores. As of now, our app has 6,000 downloads. During the MVP stage, we had around 10 daily downloads, but now, we're at 120–240. 

Techugo has definitely met our expectations. In a few cases, the team has exceeded our expectations because they foresee possible challenges we might face considering our requirements. Techugo has come up with solutions or alternative options to overcome unforeseen errors and helped us develop them. 

How did Techugo perform from a project management standpoint?

Techugo's communication is top-notch, and the team delivers work on time. We have set a timeline considering all development factors, and most of the time, Techugo pushes us to make the process quicker from our side so they don't encounter blockers since the project has been delayed once or twice because of these blockers. We collaborate with Techugo through Zoho.
Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

I want to highlight Ankit and Priyanshi's work. Initially, we worked with a different project manager, but communication was difficult. Later in the project, Ankit stepped in and understood our issue, suggesting Priyanshi for our project. She has been a good individual and easily adapts to our thoughts and development motives. Priyanshi is flexible and willing to connect with us regarding any issue we face, and at the same time, she provides timely updates.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Techugo's areas for improvement would be in their quality and testing team. When the team delivers new features, I'd like them to test the entire product and not only the compounds most recently developed as replication to find what other areas the new features impact.

Techugo is very passionate about their business, and I recommend new clients replicate that same passion during their engagement with a technology partner. Techugo is the right choice because once they understand your business and what you're trying to achieve, they'll take it to their heart to develop the best product without letting you go despite any difficulties you reach.
