What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most about Techshlok was their ability to think creatively and beyond conventional methods. Their approach to rapid prototyping, while intentionally avoiding injection molding to reduce initial costs, showed a deep understanding of lean product development. I was particularly impressed by their ability to incorporate readily available parts in smart, functional ways, which not only ensured cost-effectiveness but also sped up our development cycle. Their thinking is both simple and innovative, and that balance is rare and commendable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something TechShlok could have done differently?

One area for improvement would be to strengthen the hardware team. Hiring more hands-on personnel could significantly speed up the fabrication process. A major bottleneck we faced was with the steel fabricator vendors, whose delays consumed a large portion of our timeline. Additionally, having a skilled industrial designer on board - someone who understands both aesthetic design and manufacturing constraints - would help in developing a product that’s not only functional but also modern and market-ready. Strengthening these aspects would enhance the overall efficiency and output quality of the program.

I’m the director of Unitic, a technology startup based in Glasgow, Scotland. We develop consumer electronic products and design road safety products.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechShlok?

We’re developing a product called RoadSage. It is an innovative, off-the-market collision warning system for cars that also serves as an anti-tailgating device. We wanted to conduct a hardware feasibility test for this product, so we got in touch with TechShlok.

What was the scope of their involvement?

TechShlok provided us with a hardware feasibility report. They had a standard product requirement document, so we initially had a one-hour meeting where they collected all my requirements before working on the project.

We had been working on this project for a while, and we also had our own product requirement document specifying a lot of features and functionalities. When we shared it with them, they took into consideration all of our feedback.

After they had clarity on our product’s concept, they were in charge of the rest of the project, which included the software architecture, the hardware materials, the market landscape, and all of the intellectual properties involved in the development of this product. They basically helped us answer if we could make this product within a specified budget.

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of 14 people from TechShlok, including Ayush (Founder). It was a very creative process, so they brought their whole team into the project to brainstorm ideas.

How did you come to work with TechShlok?

I got in touch with them through Fiverr.com. I was searching for product design businesses that had good reviews and ratings, and TechShlok had them; that is why I got in touch with them. Fortunately, they offered the specific service that we needed; they conducted hardware feasibility tests for their clients.

I got in touch with Ayush and had an introduction call with him. I explained the product concept, and he told me that it was something that they could do. The price that they proposed was quite suitable, and they promised to deliver within an agreed deadline, so we moved forward.

How much have you invested in them?

We plan to invest around $8,500 in the development of this product, but we only invested $500 on the test.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them in August 2021. However, they’re still doing some extra work for us without charging anything.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our budget to manufacture the product was about $120, and including the cost of goods, we will be able to manufacture our product exactly within that budget. TechShlok helped us met that goal.

How did TechShlok perform from a project management standpoint?

TechShlok completed the project within the two-week timeline that they promised. Even after the project was completed, they allowed me to add a few more things into the scope.

We used to chat over Zoom, which was very convenient. If I asked Ayush to meet with us in the afternoon, he would be there within 2–3 hours. He was always there for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TechShlok’s mission is quite good. Their name comes from Sanskrit, an old Indian language. Their mission is to help their clients get commercial success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything that they could have done better.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You need clarity about your project before engaging with them. TechShlok will have a number of questions, and they need the answers. If you can’t answer them, it means that you’re not sure about what you’re trying to develop.

TechShlok has resolved the noise issues in our electronics, which has been our biggest problem. This success is our main metric for their team's hard work — 
we now have a smooth-running sensor with a seamless signal, thanks to their expertise.

We communicate via email, and Google Meet, while we organize every deliverable on Google Drive. TechShlok is on top of their project management game — they have an organized workflow, and they keep us in the loop at all times.

Be prepared to relay detailed project expectations to give them a clear idea of what you need them to deliver. In any project, it's more challenging to accomplish tasks when unexpected deliverables or requests get in the way.

After speaking with a variety of product developers, Techshlok seemed to provide the bes value for money, they had a specialized team of electronic engineers, had very prompt communication and most of all I just had a good gut feeling about them. Ayush just seemed like an honest, hard working and intelligent man, and I was right!

When I was in talks with other companies they often told me no it can’t be done, it would be extremely difficult or very expensive. I refused to believe this, I mean if we can put a man on the moon we can complete this project. Techshlok shared the same mentality, no challenge was too big, it just required a bit more thought.

We started off with a feasibility study of the project which really gave me the confidence to pursue this venture. For a very reasonable price I was able to make the decision that this idea could come to light with the initial research Techshlok conducted.

I’m the founder of a wearable tech company that focuses on protecting women in India. We produce affordable bracelets and necklaces that can trigger an emergency response when needed.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechShlok?

We hired TechShlok to design the hardware solution for our wearable devices.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We contacted TechShlok and discussed our general requirements, what kind of hardware we required, and what challenges we were trying to address. We were clear that the device needed to be compatible with our software. After that, they went through an initial design phase with us, conducted market research, and helped us pinpoint what features we needed to include.

For example, we wanted to make sure that our customers were comfortable wearing it, so it needed to be the right size. Despite the fact that our primary competitors often sync their devices with mobile devices, we also wanted our devices to be independent so users could sound an alarm even if they couldn’t connect to a network.

As we continued to work with TechShlok, the designs evolved. At the end of the project, they delivered a prototype for a 15 mm device that features a red button for emergencies. When pressed, the device sounds a panic alarm to nearby safety companies, security companies, and police, while GPS in the device helps responders locate the user.

I worked directly with the founder and CEO of the company. Our documentation noted that we had one senior developer in charge of design and coding.

How did you come to work with TechShlok?

I mentored one of their team members when I was in college and we stayed in touch, so I was aware of the TechShlok. When we were looking for a hardware partner, I reviewed several companies and found that they were very competitive.

Then, when we spoke, they knew exactly what I was talking about. Cost was also a very important factor because we weren’t funded yet, so we needed an affordable partner. They were able to meet all our requirements while staying within budget. It was clear that they were willing to help us.

I was very impressed with their work and their attention to detail. Their design took everything we needed into account. For example, they delivered a solution that was compatible with the code I wrote.

They were excellent. They showed a lot of professionalism and prepared proper documentation for the entire project. They even showed how different designs would impact the final outcome, how long the project would take, and what it would cost.

I was impressed by the detail of their work. That shined through in their portfolio of work as well. Consequentially, I was confident that they could complete this project.

They wanted to get some of the components from China because they were cheaper, but I would have preferred that they source materials from India.

New clients should be very clear about what they want. Even if they’re not certain about their requirements, they should be able to state what they’re thinking.

We wanted to get a proof of concept developed for the idea we have visualised for the lung compromised patients. We hired techshlok to do the following: Make a battery powered proof of concept The POC should be accurate enough to start the clinical trials. 

The fundamental mechanism should be portable and able to be used in real time. We have a shortage of time as the project was approved by Govt authorised bodies and we had a time limit to show that the project is feasible.

The project was an automation of the manual tasks which nurses and assistant doctors do. We took the prototype and tried it to 170 users. We measured the accuracy by doing the trials both manually and then with the prototype. It was accurate in more than 95% of the cases. 

There are exceptions, which we are working with techshlok for the next phase.

At first I was skeptical, they started the project late but I was later informed that they were waiting for the hardware components to arrive. Once the project was started, there was continuous progress.
