We needed a new, improved website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techquity built our website from scratch. First, we did a personal consultation with them, and then we went through the design, building, and launching phases.

The website was a combination of our needs and their creativity and best practices. They understood what our business was about, what our concerns were, and how they could help us achieve our requirements.

They have completed one project, and they’re doing a total of four projects.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with five people. We’ve had contact with the head of the project, some developers, a designer, and one of the directors.

How did you come to work with Techquity Ltd?

I had a contact in the industry, and they recommended them to me. I did my homework, went through further reviews, and that’s how I found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent £40,000 (approximately $56,000 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership began in June 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They care. I know it sounds daft, but in this industry, there are so many people that don’t care. Straight after we launched, there was a little bug, and they identified it and did the repair, which was a change in the navigation, at a cost to themselves.

How did Techquity Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

Their performance has been spotless. They’re always there for us. We use Teamwork for project management and emails, Zoom calls, and occasionally WhatsApp to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of their work and attention to detail are excellent. They have a genuine endeavor to achieve the client’s wishes, but they’ll also go the extra mile trying to deliver them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would’ve been nice to have a face-to-face relationship but due to the pandemic, it became impossible. It didn’t hinder the relationship, and it isn’t a criticism to them; it just would’ve been nice.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Do it. Have a meeting with Techquity and be prepared for it. Share your issues and what you’re trying to achieve, and see what they can offer to improve the performance and conversion rate of your website. One thing I will say is that they’re fast — the speed of their science is fast.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techquity Ltd?

We’d gone through various stages of web development with different vendors, but they couldn’t deliver. We needed a partner to build a custom e-commerce platform.  

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Techquity Ltd developed our e-commerce site from scratch. Not using any of our previous vendors’ tech, their team designed the platform from screenshots we’d provided.

From there, they built the site with all the functional and aesthetic ideas we’d discussed; users can create profiles, monetize and share content automatically. Their team customized several features that will eliminate cost going forward since we won’t need to license any technologies such as plug-ins.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Matt (E-commerce Consultant & Replatforming Specialist, Techquity Ltd), who oversaw the project, and three developers.

How did you come to work with Techquity Ltd?

Over four years, we had two sets of developers that didn’t work out. We’d worked with Matt while he was at a different company so when we’d heard he was starting his own venture, we reached out. Their team was able to get the project up and running within three months.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent between $100,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We collaborated between September 2017—April 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Techquity Ltd built a website that’s exactly what we wanted and more. Unlike some of the other opensource sites, which can be complicated, their team developed a backend that’s functionally simple and easily maintained. The platform’s fast and user-friendly, effortlessly uploading images.

How did Techquity Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated on a daily basis through either Trello or email. We also had a WhatsApp group, which made communication quicker; if I wasn’t available, a colleague could answer any questions. The Techquity Ltd team delivered a highly functional website on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Whereas other developers would take three days to fix something, Techquity Ltd resolved any challenges quickly. Their team responded rapidly, taking care of issues within an hour; it was previously such a process to get something resolved. When they commit themselves to a project, Techquity Ltd does it well and delivers it on time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I would recommend them to anyone.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to their ideas as they can bring something new to the product, which can save money in the long run—definitely work with them.

What challenge were you trying to address with Techquity Ltd?

We were trying to build a faster website with better UX. Our previous version was a closed platform with about 600 websites. Bespoke work and new features could’ve affected other people on the platform, so we needed a new custom site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Using their own Aero Commerce platform, they developed a custom website for us, and also did an audit of our site. There were some visual changes, but they mainly worked on the backend. Now, if we want a new feature developing, we can get it for ourselves.

What is the team composition?

We worked with Matt (Co-Founder and CEO, Techquity Ltd), one of their developers, and a manager.

How did you come to work with Techquity Ltd?

One of their members used to work with the company I had my website with, and I knew how talented he was. We’d kept in touch after he moved, so I thought of Techquity Ltd when I had this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project between September 2017– early 2018. We plan to have another site built with them.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our conversion rates went up by 15–20%. It’s easy to make a site look good, but how it works in the background is important too. We’ve found real benefits from their work, in terms of our visibility on Google.

How did Techquity Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We were in touch around once a week. With website development, it depends on how experienced the customer is, and I knew enough to not put too much pressure on. They’re a small team, so we had a personal experience, which I enjoyed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been in this industry for a long time, so I’m quite experienced compared to a young company that’s never had a website developed. Techquity Ltd are always honest, they delivered on time, and they didn’t promise too much.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I’ve been very happy, and we’re going to commission another site from Techquity Ltd as well.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

It’s the customer’s responsibility to be truthful. From my experience, most companies will promise extravagant things about what’ll happen with the website, whereas Techquity was very lowkey, and they met expectations. Let them do what they do.
