Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the technology model coordinator an electric company dedicated to the generation, transmission, subtransmission, and distribution of energy.

What challenge were you trying to address with TechBI?

We needed help with a dashboard to unify the data from the various source systems our company has (SAP, Oracle, Postgre, MySQL, API, etc.).

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Visibility of indicators through a dashboard. Unification of data from the company's various source systems (SAP, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, APIs, etc.). We have worked with TechBI since 2010 on various projects, primarily focused on generating data warehouses to make information available to the business and enabling them to create their own dashboards or with TechBI's support. We have worked with technologies from SAP, Qlik, and Microsoft (SISS, Azure, Fabric).

We’ve worked with 2–5 teammates from TechBI.

How did you come to work with TechBI?

TechBI was referred to me. I chose them over other options because they had high ratings, their pricing fit our budget, they offered good value for the cost, and their company values aligned with ours.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from April–July 2016

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

TechBI has obtained the complete workflow for the feasibility studies of electrical projects because the information was previously stored in three systems (Oracle, Valoriza, and SAP). This has allowed us to significantly reduce processing times. Previously, the person performing the tasks manually using Excel took 4–5 days; now, we’ve reduced the time to one hour, enabling daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.Moreover, this has improved our response times for each feasibility study, resulting in a more timely and faster response for the customer.

How did TechBI perform from a project management standpoint?

TechBI has completed the project on schedule, although we’ve had some deviations that weren’t the team’s fault but rather the business users’ due to poorly written definitions and misinterpretations of how to collect the data. Despite this, TechBI has delivered on time and within budget. We communicate via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, and email or messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

TechBI’s multifunctional team handles different tools and adapts to our architecture. They also propose other options, allowing us to consider other choices, making them a good partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if TechBI could prevent the business user from omitting certain things in the definitions so there wouldn’t be setbacks in the project. However, they’ve resolved these issues without affecting the time and cost of the project.
