BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the president of a full-service market research consultancy, and the corporate insights leader for a national food brand. We provide quantitative and qualitative research, reporting, and analysis to a wide range of clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with The Swizzle Collective?

We needed a partner to help create positioning for a consumer product food item. We also needed help to create television, radio, and digital advertising as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The Swizzle Collective had a broad range of responsibilities. They had to understand the customer’s needs, wants, and attitudes toward the end product and convert that into positioning for the brand. They assisted with creative development and wrote a series of 10–20 different drafts for potential directions for a TV commercial. The Swizzle Collective used consumer research on those drafts to produce the final commercial last year that continues to run. Although this project is completed, we still partner with The Swizzle Collective on other tasks.

We received a strong referral from another agency, so we didn’t consider anyone else.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked on this project from 2016–2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their TV ad was one of the top ads for the Ipsos ASI, a national measurement that judges the ability of an ad to increase the awareness of and interest in a brand. We also did a test marketing campaign for the ad, and it was one of the top three highest ads that Nielsen has ever recorded.

How did The Swizzle Collective perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered on time and responded quickly to our feedback.

The Swizzle Collective focuses on understanding the end customer’s needs so they can integrate that into the creative. Their work strongly resonates with the target audience and attracts their interest.
