As our 3D models intended will be represented in art exhibitions, concept arts have kind of intricate circle forms and insertion of wood and metal. But despite that, the SVAIY.ART managed to convey these forms, with the right composition so everything will look even better than we expected.

The project management is the highest level. We had a tight deadline for this project, but it did not prevent the SVAIY team from finishing it on time.

We needed extra development resources for our projects.

What was the scope of their involvement?

SVAIY ART provides 3D animation and VR development services for our company using Unreal Engine and other animation tools. SVAIY ART initially worked on model rigging and optimization for some of our game assets. We liked that project's result and gave them additional contracts to work on animations, blueprints, and controllers within our game. 

A couple of months later, we gave SVAIY ART one more version of our game's character, and the team developed a trailer to launch that character. We provided the animation's data, and SVAIY ART created the trailer. We've spent a lot of time discussing the animations' physical aspects before production. Our scoping sessions with the team lasted 3–4 days, and after that phase, SVAIY ART delivered outcomes recordings and source files for testing before delivering the final product.

We haven't launched our game yet to the public, and SVAIY ART's work quality is excellent. I'm impressed by the team's performance.

I'm the executive director of a company that creates immersive media experiences, emerging technology, and solutions for different clients. We create large lobby displays, video walls, and 3D interactive art installations. We also build digital and physical immersive experiences using AR and VR and are starting to work with blockchain, Web3, and AI.

What challenge were you trying to address with SVAIY ART?

We needed to augment our 3D design and digital production capabilities. We needed to create a VR experience for an end client who is building a health and wellness lounge. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SVAIY ART designed a 3D world in a videogame environment and created a digital experience with a 360° video. The experience was based on creating a meditative environment experience for users. The experience started in a desert environment, then the day changed to night and transformed into a landscape with a lake and fireflies, and at the end of the experience, users levitated off the ground. The VR experience was designed to promote calm and peace in a meditative state. 

We had an initial call to discuss the project and sent a brief with visual examples and references. We defined a contracting period, and SVAIY ART created a scope of work that worked for our budget and timing. We approved the scope, and then SVAIY ART started production. 

Early on, SVAIY ART took our references, validated them, and created realistic-looking experiences based on the references we approved. SVAIY ART added sound and audio to the experience, and we had two iterations of review and approval. The team worked remotely.

We mainly worked with Kseniya (Business Development Manager), who was in charge of our account. Early on, we met with Vadym (Founder & CEO) and then worked with graphic designers, animators, and VR developers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

SVAIY ART delivered a VR experience that met our vision. We received positive feedback from users, who claimed they really felt like they were meditating through the experience. The final product also increased awareness and engagement of a new health and wellness lounge that hasn't been launched in real life, but the VR experience was meant to be a teaser of this new concept being developed in the Middle East. 

SVAIY ART's work met our goals since it helped us introduce our end client's concept in a sensory way to the intended target audience. Our end client was pleased, and the team was proactive and talented in the artistic and technical aspects. The VR experience also serves as an initial prototype of the world that will be built further once the wellness lounge launches. SVAIY ART delivered top-quality work.

SVAIY ART was a proactive communicator. All our initial uncertainties were put to rest because they were so proactive and transparent about their work. The team had an organized and professional operation.

Are there any areas they could improve?

When I first looked at SVAIY ART's website, I thought they mostly worked with video game development and 3D worlds related to gaming, but I realized they could work in other areas, including video production, VR development, and building digital experiences. If anything, SVAIY ART should present broader capabilities to take advantage of their services and not only focus on the game industry.

I recommend preparing a brief in advance before engaging with SVAIY ART, and after the first meeting with the team, look for visual references and have a clear idea of your goals and objectives — this will help SVAIY ART with the initial structure.

So we see this project as the beginning of our strong cooperation.

I’m the founder of a solo development shop that builds game experiences for Decentraland in the Metaverse.

What challenge were you trying to address with SVAIY ART?

The 3D character creation and 3D modeling weren’t my strong suits, so I had to outsource those services. I got some concept art done, and I reached out to SVAIY to help me make that art come to life in 3D.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

SVAIY provided me with 3D character modeling and creation. Initially, I told them what I wanted and provided some examples of the concept art for the characters I wanted them to create. Then, they took my input and created the 3d characters.

What is the team composition?

I worked mainly with a project manager from SVAIY. Additionally, I worked with Kseniya (Head of Business Management) a lot, as well as with a few 3D modelers. Over time, those modelers were narrowed down to only one so that we could get a consistent style.

How did you come to work with SVAIY ART?

I found them on Guru. I had launched a job offering on Guru soliciting bids, and SVAIY’s proposal was the most impressive. Thus, we engaged in a trial period, and they performed very well, so we continued our relationship. Over time, they became my exclusive 3D provider.

We started working together around March 2020, and we paused our collaboration in March 2022. We’re currently going through funding issues, but once we have the funds, we will work with SVAIY again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

SVAIY did a great job at interpreting the concert art; the characters they designed looked almost exactly like the concept art I provided them with, which I really loved. Additionally, everyone I’ve shown the designs to has been very impressed.

How did SVAIY ART perform from a project management standpoint?

SVAIY’s project management was very good. They were great at communicating and setting up meetings, even outside of their time zone. Additionally, they ensured to stay in touch throughout the project. We mainly communicated via Telegram, and we had a few Zoom calls. Moreover, we communicated through Guru.

What did you find most impressive about them?

SVAIY was great at delivering work quickly; they worked very fast compared to other agencies. Their team excelled at taking my vision and making it a reality very quickly and with high quality for a reasonable price. Moreover, they did a great job with the model textures. Their strengths were the reason why they became my exclusive 3D designers.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One of our biggest challenges was creating wearables for Decentraland; there were a lot of technical specifics on how to create those wearables. Additionally, we faced some language barriers regarding the documentation I provided that detailed what I needed, so we went back and forth on that information a lot. Still, we eventually figured everything out.

Be as clear as you can upfront regarding what you’re looking for and provide them with examples and as many reference materials as possible so that they can do a great job for you.
